Also, we are thinking of skipping dinner opportunities at Carolina Room and Pinehurst Country Club.  Feel like those atmospheres might be a little stuffy and seems like the food scene outside the resort is solid.  Would love to know if that is the wrong call.

Are you on a package that includes dinner? If so, seems silly to skip out on the included meal. All the food I've had at the resort has been solid and if you want more casual there's on-property options other than the Carolina Room...

Thanks.  Dinner at Pinehurst CC seems to be included and it is suggested we would be able to arrange reservations the night prior at Carolina Room.  But staying at The Manor, so didn't know if spots nearby like Pinehurst Brew, Dugan's etc. would be just as good.

I wouldn't skip the free dinner at the resort.  Their food service is pretty good across the board.

 

Dugan's is where you go to finish yourselves off after dinner.  Always a good time.  Pinehurst Brewing is a fine choice too, it's a pretty typical brewery experience but the food is decent and the beer is pretty good.
