Got nothing substantive to offer other than everyone is complaining in the 2024 thread that there should be a new 2025 thread. Two weeks until these launch in the US, so go nuts.

I'm in on day one for a ZXi7 set, 4 - SW with Axioms. Merry Christmas to me.

Have you used the axioms shaft? Curious how they would compare to me $taper.

Think I am gonna roll 5-6 ZXi5 and 7-PW ZXi7

I've got a set of ZX5 MkII right now with Steelfiber i80cw. It's great but ... you know ... there's the urge to experiment, as I definitely don't tell my wife.

Since when is Srixon offering a ZX7 SW?

SW was JDM exclusive if I’m not mistaken. Always regret not picking it up when I’m there

I should have said in NA.  They have always had a matching SW in Japan.  The op said that he is going to get 4-SW ZXI7, his location shows Atlanta so that's why I asked.  Unless he is ordering from oversees.

These look amazing and its going to be tough to resist.  What does the " i " stand for?  Have they released the tech?

Bit more here from Aussie Golf Digest. TLDR, they soft!

Quote

Srixon’s one-of-a-kind formula called i-Forged or Impact Forged, is a new achievement in club design and manufacturing, developed to strengthen and enhance each ZXi iron to create superior all-around performance.

“The i-Forging process gave us the unique ability to select which steels would be best suited for each ZXi iron, promoting a better hitting feel and overall performance,” said Dustin Brekke, director of engineering. “On the ZXi7 Players Iron, we used a softer steel in S15C. It’s the softest steel we’ve ever had in a forged Srixon iron. Each new material upgrade serves a specific purpose to balance and strengthen each Iron and give players immediate feedback at contact.”

To ensure the irons maintain their strength and durability, Srixon used condensed forging in the ZXi7, ZXi5 and ZXiU irons. This proprietary technique strengthens specially chosen sections of each iron to increase their performance. By doing so, the added support allowed engineers to utilise softer, better feeling material in the construction without compromising durability and maintaining a pure feel. Testing showed ZXi7 single-piece body material is 7 percent softer, while ZXiU and ZXi5 face material is 14 percent softer than the prior generation of ZX Mk II irons.

Meanwhile, to maximise softness, each ZXi iron was carefully tempered inside of a long oven to optimise strength and temperature for Srixon’s softest treatment yet.

I am rocking gen 1 ZX7s, never have I said "oh jeez, if only these were softer feeling".  These are arguably the softest forged CBs that there are, 7% softer seems like marketing for a minor change.

I will certainly give these a try though.

We're talking about the matching SW not the AW.  The AW is offered everywhere as far as I am aware.

I have been using Axiom shafts in my ZX7 mkii irons and really like them.  I was using Steelfiber before the Axiom shafts.  Both are great.  I need to swing alittle more aggressively with the Steelfiber to get the most out of them, compared to the Axiom shaft.  Both have good dispersion.  The Axiom has alittle better feel than SF.  SF have a slightly dead feel to them, which I don't mind but some people do.  I have been very happy with them and don't see myself changing out of these shafts anytime soon.  I also have them in my wedges.

I almost went with Axiom in my Zxi order but heard they are low launching/low spin even more so than DG.  I am coming from SteelFiber i80.

i ended up going Tour Lite.

Just got my ZXi5's today.  First thing I noticed was that the soles "looked" smaller (as in width)....thought that can't be as many are concerned that they increased the sole with.   This was as I was just taking them out of the box, so I grabbed a 7 iron of the previous gen, which I've played all year for comparison.    I then decided to take a measurement and as far as increase in sole dimension... well, there isn't much in it.  The difference you see is .007" and is most likely operator based than actual difference.    I made a few measurements by myself and many were the same, but thought I'd grab some pictures so recruited mrs Txbadger for the assist.

The picture side by side isn't a great angle but I think the beveling on the ZXi's gave me the impression of a smaller sole as it is wider sole to back and is more noticeable to my eye around the toe.

Not sure that's true in practice. I was chatting just yesterday* to a very good clubfitter who has built multiple ZX MkII sets with both SteelFibers and Axioms and he said he felt the overall performance was very closely comparable in the equivalent weights.

(* And the reason I was chatting to him is because he is going to make me a blended set of ZXi5/ZXi7 with Axiom 75 to replace my set of ZX5 MkII with Steelfiber i80cw. I got great results going from KBS Tour to the SteelFibers, but don't love love the feel, as @Mob said.)
