...frankly I'd be fine play last years model, the ZX7mkII.  A buddy who has hit the ZXi's said "they feel great, but so did last year's."  And I might tend to think that last years looked cleaner.  But it's a rounding error.

 

Maybe that's why Keegan and 3 other ZX7 players are still in their gamers from last year ...who knows.  For me personally, if increasing spin wasn't a concern when refreshing this lineup of irons, I'll have to skip these.  I play golf at elevation and love me some spin.

 

Seems like this is an iteraive refresh and a good option for those who are looking to refresh their 5 year old set of irons.

 

 

 

That's been the case with the Srixon's for a awhile.  They are really good...and they know not to mess up a good thing.

 

I had the OG ZX5s and the MKii ZX5s and they were essentially identical. The color scheme is better on the new set, but otherwise they were exactly the same.  I felt the 565/585 series was a tough softer....but other than that, they played the same as well.

 

 I'd been an 'every other cycle' Srixon iron guy until my OG ZX5s got damaged. I'll sit this one out and see what goodness comes in two years.  I think Srixon is still in the mode of growing new converts.  So it's smart to leave well enough alone.

They pretty much only release new blades when Hideki wants a redesign. I’d expect 2 more years

I’ve never hit a better feeling and more forgiving iron than the mkii 4’s.  Easy to work and nice to look at. Wonderful irons

Looks like they are up on their site. Not seeing my shaft though (Dynamic Gold 120) 🥲. I've got another year of life left in my set MKIIs but I can't imagine swapping to something else.

Looks like these are coming stock with DG Mid 115’s. I’ve played Modus 120’s for what feels like a decade, does anyone have experience with the Mid 115’s?

I've played Modus 120 and didn't get along with the mid 115 with a limited demo at my club. Stiff handle and mid, softer tip. Pretty sure you can swap from the DG mid 115 to the Modus 120 with no upcharge.

I hit the mid 115 s300 in a taylormade 770 and loved the feel compared to my c tapers.

Lofts on the “7s” have never made sense to me. 5* seems like a big gap on the short irons.

Sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but being a lefty I see on the site that the AW is available in left handed which is huge IMO, I've always carried a set gap wedge and not having one available in the OG ZX and MKii was always a negative for me. Look forward to trying these.

The 7s don’t look as player as I think previous versions.

Nice to see mmt as a no upcharge option (edit: nvm all graphite has a baseline $14 upcharge) sad to see it only goes up to stiff 105g though. Wonder if it’ll be like Callaway where they just randomly get and lose stock of different flexes. 
 

It is cool to see that you can hard or soft step straight from their website. Also cool you can order Axioms ($85/club upcharge)

is DG 120 no longer going to be in Srixon’s cart or is this temporary?

 

otherwise I need to find a Srixon fitter to pick a new shaft. Which I’m not sure how to do where I live (New Orleans) without having to go to CC.

Every retailer i've checked them on has the DG120 in both S300 and X100. Should have no issue.

Looking at the new utility it looks like they've made the bulge bigger at the rear (I'm sure there is a better way of phrasing that...)

I play the previous utility in the 4 iron and don't see that bulge.

I tried to convince myself these and the last few versions of the 7 look good, but they just dont. Sure they play fine, but looks are about dead last in this category.

Kinda torn. I hit and liked T150s with LZ 6.0 shafts. Hit them with Modus 120S as well but they felt a little soft. 
 

Haven’t gotten to hit the zxi7 or zx7 but figure if I hit the t150 well I’d hit these well. The big pro is I can order a 120X soft stepped which I think would be a good combo.

If they just rounded the top line off these would look perfect! I have played both previous ZX7's and loved them both. My only knock is the top line is a bit blocky.

Man, I actually love how square they are haha. I like thin-but blocky. I bought a set of MP243's last year to toy around with and just couldn't get over how round they looked at address... so much preference
