2025 Srixon ZXi Irons

Any comments on the feel of the 7 compared to other similar irons? I am close to buying the Mizzy S3s, but these are interesting.

On a related note it does appear that more shipping notices from FedEx will be sent.  I reached out to Srixon to ask about it and they confirmed that they just ship items as they are ready and don't wait for the entire order.  I guess someone decided to build just the 7 iron days ahead of the rest of the order....I'm considering it the appetizer to my full combo set.  Second course should be here tomorrow... I'm thinking a wedge of some kind.

I think I may be misunderstanding something here.   Can the MMT shafts be ordered in the Srixon 5’s?

i just came from the jpx tours 923, which i think are the new S3s.  i'm a ~1 index and solid ball striker.  What used to bother me about the srixon is the top line, but out of nowhere, it doesn't bother me anymore.  The forgiveness is better, and its softer. The lofts are different, so i would pay attention to that, dont get suckered into srixon just b/c they are longer, but the ball does feel slightly hotter off the face, but not in a bad way, almost like a "damn that felt good" way.  If you are hitting the sweet spot 90+% of the time, mizuno are probably going to be fine, but if you need a little help, i think srixon are a better option for someone in that scratch to ~4-5 index range.

Thanks. I am sure these feel great, but will need to see them in person to try and get over the top line, I don’t like it on previous models. 
 

s3 still the leader but will give these a shot for sure.

I am looking forward to comparing my long standing (in the bag) set of mizuno MP64's to this combo set of Srixon's on the way.  Have nearly the whole line in this combo set...RTX pw, z-forged ii blades, zxi7's, zxi5, and zxiU utility. 

 

I don't love the fact that the new utility has more offset than the previous model but I'll hold off judgement until I hit it.

 

I'll honestly be quite surprised if these feel better than my mp64's.

Well, it pains me... but after two days with my ZXi7's in hand, they're boxed up and on their way to AspenGolfDirect for a rebuild along with my SM10's. He'll get me right on the money for my specs and SW, and he does some of the best ferrule work i've seen around. So excited to see these with some BB&F's. Figured i'd go ahead and get it out of the way while the weather is terrible in TN just in time for spring. Should be back in a week or two and i'll drop some pictures in here!

Check out my boy shafts_and_balls on IG. I am in SoCal and he is one of the best builders in the state. Also has made some dirty ball markers for Nebula!

Love it - yep his work looks great too! I guess there's definitely a "risk" sending my set in given I haven't hit the long irons, or the short irons, but I've hit the 7i, and a full set of the ZX7 MkII with my shaft and they were buttery. I'd hate to wait 4 weeks for the weather to sort its self out a little and then have to send them. I try and move everything i'm not using so me not hitting balls for two weeks is like hell... haha.

Were the specs way off from Srixon or just wanting to leave no stone unturned?

Nope not to my knowledge - probably should have clarified that. I don't have a loft/lie machine but I doubt they were out of spec. I was just sending my wedges off and decided to say "screw it" and send the irons too so he could really dial in all the progressive SW's as the ZXi7/SM10 set is what I plan on gaming this whole season.

Very nice, was just curious as I am likely ordering a set with Axiom 125 and debated going through someone other than Srixon but I have confidence they will do a nice job getting everything to spec (I hope lol).

I'm sure they would be great, but yeah definitely a little risky with the up-charge. I wonder if ordering them through an independent builder like Kingpine on Instagram that works with Fujikura/Srixon stuff all the time would be better just to give you peace of mind that everything comes out exactly how you want? Not sure on his pricing structure but his stuff looks great as well and i've heard nothing but good things.

Just got my ZXi5/7 combo set yesterday. I placed the order last Monday when orders became available. I'm preaching to the choir, but they look absolutely amazing. I'm coming from JPX 923 HMs, so it's a significant change for me. ZXis felt great during my fitting. Got it with DG 120s from the site (I had to ask customer service to add it to my order). Now waiting on the weather to get better in West TN before I can try them out! I also got the RTZ wedges, but had them customized while they're free. Waiting on those and a utility iron.

Can anyone compare the ZX4 MKii to the ZXi4? I played the OG ZX4 and loved them, despite the size. The ZX4 MKii, I did not get along with. They made it a better looking head, for sure, but the performance reflected the refined shape.

I didn't have or hit the ZX4 MKii, I had the 5's.  But aa mentioned in the last page or so, I had the opportunity to play a set of the ZXi 4's in November, and they were fantastic in all areas.  It's the large reason I went combo i4/5 vs all 5.   Looks were fine, the feel and sound were nothing like the original ZX4---meaning that in a good way.

The 7’s aren’t a blade .  Just a players model.   The Z Forged is the blade.

My fault I just saw I didn’t specify I meant the zxi7 AW since it’s more similar to a blade and closer to the RTZ

I range between a 5-9 handicap and for the last 4 years I have played ZX5 mk I (5i,6i) and ZX7 mk I (7-AW). I have enjoyed these clubs a lot and it's time to upgrade as I play about 100 rounds per year on these things (yes I should be a lower handicap!). my short game is the strongest part of my game which keeps my handicap lower than the long game would suggest IMO.

 

I am strongly debating just going all ZXi5 irons this time. I dont find the Zx7 hard to hit but my thinking is this...if the pros are hitting Zx7 with clearly a better swing than me, perhaps some more forgivement across all the irons would make sense.

 

I have just ordered the ZXi5 irons 5i,6i,7i as an initial order to essentially test the 7i vs my current 7i to check spin/landing angles. I am lucky enough to own a GCQuad so I can test numbers indoor. from there, I will decide which model to order for the 8-PW (and perhaps AW). if the ZXi5 7i data isn't great, I will also have to order the 7i in ZXi7....I am going to install the Axiom 105s shafts I currently have in my current Srixon set into the new irons.

 

I am curious for those that have ordered the ZXi7 irons to date, what handicaps are you playing to? just curious as there seems to be more ZXi7 supporters than ZXi5 supporters. 

 

really think the Srixon irons are great and the online customization from their website is great.

Can anyone tell me why the Srixon website shows the KBS Tour Lite shaft which is stock for the ZXI4 as 110 grams for stiff and regular....LMAO.  And Srixon hosels are all taper .355.  The Tour Lite is 100 grams in stiff and 95 grams in regular.
