Appreciate the feedback. That’s how I feel about the mkii with the misses being not very penal and good forgiveness. Do you find an improvement over the mkii so far in that category or just the same basically with the zxi?

It's been a minute since I have played the MKii honestly but I remember those being pretty good as well.  I combo'd those with the Z forged in the short irons and while I liked them, I prefer the non combo set.  The mis hits are better with the ZXi7 all the way through.  I am not striking the ball my best right now but I feel like more time with these and I wont be looking at irons for a while.  They just do everything well.  I think the ZXi7 are just softer.

Ive gone through 4 sets of these testing different combos of shafts and heads including combo sets. Have another one arriving this week. I’ve tried nearly everything because Im not in love with the looks of these irons. Both in the bag, and address view, but I cannot deny that the sound, feel, performance is likely the best of anything overall.

Just got off the phone with my fitter about my order from 4/17. Some club heads on back order, probably not gonna ship until late this month. Lefty ZXi5's 4-A, I know the A is back ordered for sure, not positive about any others.

Follow up on my order  from 4/28 from Edwin Watts.  Combo right hand ZXi5 4-5-6, ZXi7 7-PW, KBS TGI 95 shafts, MCC Red grips.

Stopped by the store today, thinking they might be in.  Told me the ZXi5's are in, but the last word they had was the ZXi7s were on back order until later in the month, would expect them by the end of May.  I got online and chatted with Srixon CS, they said some ZXi7 heads were on back order but are now in stock and orders are being filled.    So I don't really know where I am in the Queue, would like to get them before the month ends.   I guess I'll just have to wait.....  But I did build a set online of my ZXi7's in 7-PW and put them in the cart.  The website said estimated ship date would be 5/16, which is next Friday.  So maybe mine will be here be the week of the 19th.

Thanks for mentioning the online chat. I checked with them on my order status and they confirmed that the AW was backordered through at least the end of the month. The guy did say they would go ahead and build the rest of my set 4-P and ship the AW separately once in stock. Should be here next week.

Any ‘long term’ reviews of the Zxi7 yet? Much different than the mkii Zx7?

I'm using Axioms for the first time, so it's not apples to apples but, ZXi7s feel better than OG's and Z785's.  There is noticeably more spin on the mid to long irons, but these shafts could be contributing to that.  Another bonus is the ability to customize your irons which is SICK, I went no paint fill except the number on the sole

Been in quite the dilemma myself. Absolutely loving my ZXi7's, but i've been having quite the fit with the Modus 120X. No matter what I try, i'm missing them left. Honestly just think i'd prefer something a little more stable in the handle. I found a stock ZXi7 7i build from Proclubs last week that came with the DG Mid 115 S300 for like $110, and it's honestly not bad. Didn't seem too high/spinny and the feel was so much better on the range this weekend. I also have a KBS Tour 120 on the way to throw in and may try the Modus 115 again too, but i'm really trying to find an iron shaft that also has a good wedge specific option and KBS seems to do this very well.

Starting to realize too it may be cheaper to just order another brand new set from Srixon and move my currents than buy new shafts and have them rebuilt/try and sell the Modus pulls. Also trying to decide if i'd feel more comfortable with a ZXi5 in the 4i and 5i bent 1 weak. Lots of considering...

Currently in a driver predicament...

Would you consider axiom?  Put them in my zxi7 iron set and could not be happier. Gained about 5 yards carry distance and the dispersion is amazing for me. Used to play kbs $-taper and had my normal fade but also some that went to the left that I was not accounting for. Made the switch and will never look back.

Have considered it in the past, but I typically find success in the 110-120g range. Not sure i'd be okay with the 125, and even if I was, i'm not sure I could handle the X. Would have to hit them for sure.

I get the whole tools not jewels thing, but it would’ve been so easy to avoid. Seems like the least you can do when you’re paying $185 per (or $250+ in my case w axiom). Callaway has keep the heads separate through the box design, ping puts covers over each one and bands the clubs together, Srixon has the softest metal of them all and just chucks it into the box with some loose paper lol.

Idk if this is really worth complaining about, but I at least fired off an email to tell them they should consider improving their packaging.

Update — they replaced the two damaged heads and shipped back to me all within a two week window. The clubs were shipped with better protection this time and were damage free. Excited to get them on the course!

Anyone doing a ZXiU 4i, and ZXi7 5-P combo set and have any feedback? Sounds interesting. Close to the Scottie loadout, but I guess you'd go ZXiU 4i and then Z-Forged II 5-P...

Typically they pull the option when they don’t have them stock and then add them back on once they are back in stock.

You having placed the order when they were on the site makes me think you are good.

I just bought ZXi7s (5-PW) for my 16 year old son. He’d been using my old Cleveland UHX irons but he had way too much of a draw with it and hit them a mile high.

We played on Saturday where I used them and he used my ZX5s (OG version). It was clear after the first 2 holes that he needed heavier shafts and much less offset and that my clubs were helping him hit normally looking shots for a higher swing speed player. He still hit the ball too far with them too so I decided to check out eBay to see what I could see and fell into a good deal.

He might use my ZX5 5i if he wants a little more forgiveness which is fine as I use a 5 hybrid anyway. If he wants my 6i I’ll just get one off of eBay as I’m not ready for a 6 hybrid yet haha.

He’s a 20 index but his ball striking is almost elite as he just nuts the ball with maybe 1 or 2 duffs/tops a round. He’s a hockey kid which is why he hits it so well (the ball just sits there instead of having to skate on knives playing with a frozen puck lol). He has no idea on strategy or thinking about misses which is OK by me as long as he’s having fun and playing more. If he took this game seriously his index would drop like a rock. That said his putting is a crime against humanity though haha.

I didn’t get him the set gap wedge as it wasn’t part of the set I purchased. I play the previous generation CBX wedge at 48* and love it. I’m thinking of getting him an RTZ 50* wedge to fill that gap for him. He’s currently using my 3 generations old CBX wedges for his 54* and 58*. I think with his ball striking and chipping ability he should get into normal player wedges as his short game is unusually good for someone who never practices.

Thoughts on going that route for his gap? If so is 10* of bounce the way to go?

I used to as well. Axiom 105 stiff is very stable for me. I would at least go try them out.

Anyone compare the ZXI4 4 iron (20*) to the ZXIU 20*?

I'm looking for a driving iron to complete my set. I would guess the zxi4 would launch higher with more spin

I don’t have many swings on them, but so far the Axiom 125X don’t feel stout to me. I played KBS $-taper 120 (s) before this, and those felt slightly more stiff.

What would the ZXi5's and 7's most resemble in other OEM's clubs? Offset, topline etc.

I'd easily say Titleist - T100 for the ZXi7 although Srixon will be larger, and then T150/T200-ish for the ZXi5. Callaway - Apex CB/TCB for the ZXi7 although i'd say barely more forgiving on the Srixon side from the cavity size, and then Apex Pro for the ZXi5. Taylormade - P7CB for the ZXi7, and then elements of the P770 for the ZXi5. Don't think they touch P790 territory, but maybe a little?

I know these are not all "apples to apples", but pretty close. You have the "players CB" and then a little larger, more forgiving and hotter "players distance" iron. Hope that provides some sort of context.

These are good comparisons but the Srixons are going to be a larger head and blockier on the top line compared to most other similar irons. They’re not necessarily big but are mid-sized heads. If I could change one thing about them I’d soften the look of the top line.

The Zxi7 is noticeably larger than the P7CB and the ZXi5 is chunkier than the P770. The Zxi4 is pretty close to the P790, but the Srixon is bigger. The Zxi7 and Cobra King Tour are close in size. The Cobra CB is definitely smaller.

I have not looked closely but it sure seems like the Callaway TCB is much sleeker than the Zxi7.

I found it interesting when I hit the Srixons that to me the Zxi4 feels softer than the Zxi5.

The ZXi4's are just awesome. Little offset for what they are intended to be.

I don't care what the AGN report says, these things are forgiving as heck, feel fantastic, and are long! I have found zero distance inconsistencies.
