2025 Srixon ZXi Irons

...and just like that I've an order in for ZXi5 5-7, ZXi7 8-PW and a bonus ZXiU 4i all shafted in Modus3 Tour 130 S. Didn't really need the utility as that end of the bag is sorted but it was free. Funny how I expected to get fit into something lighter but after trying various shaft weights and profiles the 130 worked best.

Ive used these almost every round this year.

They are awesome.  I had to get used to the turf interaction - for some reason you really need to be strong through the turf.  The T150 cut through better for me but the ZXi7 are forgiving, feel amazing, long enough and look great.

These will be gamers all year and next year will get fit against the new titleist stuff but these will be hard to beat.

It's difficult to get irons that length with a reasonable swingweight. I went through the same issues. Mizuno does have lighter heads (B heads) and they are in the very small minority. I went with New Level TC 480s because they have a weight port where they can control swing weight. Ping is another because of their screws they can control swingweight pretty well. It's bona-fide crap shoot otherwise and a manufacturer will send you irons that are D5 with you not having a clue why you can't hit them. Ask me how I know.

It's my understanding that Mizuno stopped doing the B heads for the 24x series.

Ok well hopefully 4th times a charm….. went 4/5, 6-PW combo again but this time went C Taper 120 HSx1 since they don’t carry the 125. Standard lie, 5i 1 degree weak. Initial feedback is I think I finally found my match.

I believe this to be correct.  I also believe all of their heads are closer to b weight now and then tip weighted to swingweight.

I think my 241 heads were 4-5 grams lighter than my 620 mb heads

Were you looking to reduce the left ball?  I found going 2 degrees weak on the the zxi7s drastically reduced the left ball and don’t increase launch and spin much.

Honestly just trying to find a combo that worked. Fit into C Taper 125. Didn’t want to go 130 SS so went 120 HS. Like the lighter shaft option. I went 1 degree weak throughout in my last set and although it isn’t much, didn’t like the added bounce.

For whatever reason had tried three different shafts previously and none ever felt right. Felt like I was fighting it the whole time. Right away these felt worlds better. Almost effortless to swing. Ball speed, spin and distance all up.

I've had ZXi5 4-5 and ZXi7 6-PW for over a month now and waited to give my thoughts on them after hitting almost daily in my garage and playing about 10 rounds on course. Everything about these irons fit me perfect...wish I bought the previous model a few years ago. Love the v soles, softer feel, and slightly lower spin compared to my previous T100...those were my only issues with the T100. Launch and distances are very similar, maybe a few yards more distance with ZXi7 in the 6-7 irons probably from lower spin. I prefer the slightly longer blade length in these and the thicker top line has never crossed my mind once when looking down at these even though it's noticeable if you are trying to compare the two. Only knock on these irons are they are showing face wear quicker so I don't think they'll last me nearly as long as my TItleist ones did.

The last bit is weird to me - I find that Srixons are way more durable compared to Titleist. Interesting! Sandy range where you are?

Srixon gets a lot more bag chatter and dents/marks on the face.

the Titliest brown faster than any iron I’ve ever seen and there’s no close second

The more I play these zxi’s the more I’m loving them.  They feel so damn good and can hit any shot needed.  For a while I was put off by the top line size when I first started playing the og zx7’s, but after a couple of rounds they look normal.  You forget about it quickly once you hit them flush.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just got a set of Zxi5s that I ordered a week ago. Half inch over with Modus 105 regular. Requested D2 swing weight to avoid having a super heavy swing weight which often happens when you order over length irons if they don't use lighter heads. So I just measured them  and they came out to D0. Very surprised given the over length build. Anyone have a similar experience? I'm going to play and see how they feel before I decide what to do. I played some Ping irons in the past with steel that were D0 and actually liked them so it may be fine.

Just received my Zxi5 irons today and first thing I did was check specs. I ordered mine +1/2 inch over standard with mid size grips. SW for the irons came out to C0-D0. I suspect the 3 wraps plus midsize grip is causing this. I didn't specify a SW with my order because I planned to reshaft with Axioms anyways and will properly SW those during the build.

One thing I love about my Ping i530's is the toe weight. makes SW'ing clubs so easy.

Plan to install jumbomax zen lite grips and dry fit with the heads to see what SW I get. if not enough, will need to install tip weights.

It's weird. Normally it's all they can do to get to D2 with over length builds. And I have std tour velvets so it's not the grip. I know Srixon says on their website that they use lighter heads for longer builds. I guess it's the grips that caused yours to be lower. What shafts did you get in them?

yeah. In my case, def the grips. I went with KbS TGI 90 shafts.

Am visiting the US next month and am planning to get a combo set of ZXi …. srixon, pga sstore etc won’t allow an order for shipping to Usa with an outside USA billing address so best friend will orde for me…

I’m taking advantage of loft jacking by extending my iron gapping slightly to 5 degree gaps between irons - saves an ironin the bag and gaps are good enought for me.

So a Zxi4 6iron at 25.5deg (close enough to 25)

Zxi5 7iron 1deg strong at 30

Zxi5 8iron 35deg (standard)

and both 9 and PW are 1deg strong Zxi7, so 40 and 45deg lofts.

Have a 50 deg gap wedge below and a 21deg 7wood at t’other end.

Hopefully i like the KBS TGI100 shafts 😉

To those who used to play zx7 mkii and moved to zxi7, do you see noticeable differences? Spin, height, and distance? I love how my zx7 mkii feels but people say zxi feels even better? Please tell me they are just all similar haha 🙂

If you go back a few pages iping210 answered this question for me. Basically said the differences between each are minimal and probably not significant enough to upgrade.

Performance wise, probably very little difference.   Think the ZXis feel far and away better then a the MKii’s- but I thought the MKiis felt like garbage from the moment they were released 🤷🏻‍♂️
