2025 Srixon ZXi Irons

I think this entire lineup looks amazing. I agree with some the flat topline is not my favorite....but, when I had the ZX7s last year, that went away after like one session. These are just good golf clubs all around. My other nit-pick, is that I don't love the loft package on the 7's, but my last set I just ordered 1 weak in the 5-8 irons and left the 9 and PW alone, worked out great, but took a bit of thought and blind faith ordering luck to get there.

I've played the MKii 5's for the past 2 seasons with the Modus 105 shafts.   I'm contemplating a graphite shaft in a combo set this time, but the Modus 105's worked so well for me I'm hesitant to change shafts.   I'm not worried about the ZXi's.  I'm confident they are great, just wondering about shaft changes with the new "i" heads.

I just came here to say the same thing.

i also have played Mk II with DG 120 since release and was going to pre order Zxi, but now I’m in a shaft pickle.

is DG 120 no longer going to be in Srixon’s cart or is this temporary?

otherwise I need to find a Srixon fitter to pick a new shaft. Which I’m not sure how to do where I live (New Orleans) without having to go to CC.

Looks like its available for Z Forged II so it should likely be available custom still

I for one absolutely LOVE the x100 115 mids, didn’t like the 120’s, didn’t like the modus 105x. Coming from a long time user of x100’s straight in as well as the AMT white x100.

I thought that was slightly odd given the marketing emphasis on the new materials and forging for the other irons. Why wouldn't you want to have a Zi Forged to most purely showcase the new process? My guess is because the blades are getting a more significant redesign than the ZX clubs?

You can glamorize all the marketing of new material, forging, and other questionable insubstantial gains golf club makers tend to over bloat.

The bottom line is it still a blade and they do not sell. No reason to make more toolings and dyes with more SKUs for something they will only sell less than 5% of their total iron sales revenue.

Started thinking through the release and got to wondering... Has anyone played anything like this?

3i - ZXiU

4i - Zxi4

5i/6i - Zxi5

7i/8i - Zxi7

9i/Pw - Z forged II

Would love to hear some feedback haha. I'm going full ZXi7, but may throw in a ZXi5 4i down the line if I need it.

Reminds me of this Luke Hanlon follower WITB from last year on SMS haha:

@etodd that is almost an identical setup to what I'll be going with. Played the ZX7 MKI, then the ZX5 MKII. Both great sets and I've played some of my best golf and hit some of my best irons shots with the ZX5 MKII, I just feel I get a low spin jumper with them every now and again. I feel like I could cope with that in the 5 & 6 but I'd struggle down at the lower end of my bag.

I played the ZX utility in a 4 iron but I'm tempted to go with the ZXi4 as the new utility looks like the rear bulges more which I wouldn't be a fan of.

I've never seen these guys before, but I thought it was a nice complete review (with comparison numbers against MKII).

I saw all the major channel reviews, but this was a channel I haven't heard of before that basically shows no difference between the ZXi5 and ZXi7...kinda interesting to see numbers outside on grass/real conditions.

Anybody else seen numbers like these on their MKIIs or ZX5/7 og? I'm surprised to see such a small gap between two seemingly very different irons with different construction/tech.

Clear out a day——or two—to catch up on all their stuff.  They put out really good content.  Have been for a few years now.

They show the ZX5 MK II as identical to the ZXi7...so one reviewer shows the ZXi5 and ZXi7 are indistinguishable using Trackman 4, and another couple of guys show the ZX5 MK II and ZXi7 with the same numbers...just doesn't make a lot of sense

They probably won't vary much on clean strikes, but the ZXi5 will certainly be more forgiving on mishits... about managing suboptimal shots, not making the solid contact better between the two.

Yea wait until askgolfnut has a video out if he hasn’t already. His forgiveness testing and heat mapping is next level.

I always joke about building a set like this especially with Mizzy. Then I realize I just don’t need a 4 or 5 iron. 6 is highest iron I need on courses I play

I’ve played the below

MKII ZX Utility 4

ZX5 MKII 5 iron

ZX7 MKII 6-7

Z Forged II 8-PW

i loved this set up and thought the 4 utility was a perfect fit compared to the ZX5 4 iron…..it gave me a little more height and forgiveness when I wasn’t swinging it well. The middle of the set didn’t really matter I’ve play all ZX7’s and all Z Forged in the past. I personally would probably never play anything other than Z Forged in shorter irons due to the little advantage of shot shaping and consistency.

How is the gapping between 8-PW in the ZX7 for people? I have long played Titleist T100 and AP2 1 deg strong so I'm used to those lofts and gapping at 4 deg. Just worried 5 deg is a lot in the short irons. Thinking about maybe going PW 1 strong, 9 iron standard, and 5-8 1 deg weak since they're quite strong to match my usual lofts. Probably just have to find a trackman to get them adjusted.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Everything ya'll said makes sense, and I'm looking forward to hearing more!! I actually bought some ZX5s previously, then added ZX7s in the scoring irons for a little more spin. Couldn't tell you if it made a real difference in that specific way cause I don't have access to the fancy monitors, but I've felt like I have more control and stopping power with them and kept the hybrid setup. Probably won't be buying these this time around, but I get heavily discounted Cleveland/Srixon gear, so it's always a temptation.

Got my Combo set ordered today, Zxi5 - 5iron, Zxi7 - 6-9, ZX Forged II - PW. PGASS are saying they will be here in around 10 days 🙂

Did you get fit with a specific shaft for the combo set?   Or did you just stick with a shaft you are familiar with and you know has performed for you in the past?

In all honesty, the new ZXi irons now look more like a natural progression starting with the Z-Forged II going up to the ZXi7. Where as the previous generation had a small trapezoid bar with a ridge above, these have the same overall trapezoid that the Z-Forged II has. I can't really see a reason to change the blade either. Not too mention, it's one of the easiest, forgiving blades you'll hit....when compared to other blades.

For those that have combo'd Srixon - specifically the 5 & 7 series - how does the gapping tend to work? Do you have to adjust lofts? I about a 12 HC and am debating between the 5, 7 or combo.

I currently have ZX5 and ZX7 MKii combo. So 5s for my five and six iron and 7s for seven to PW irons. No change in lofts and my gapping is 10 yard differences.
