Ignore the haters. That happens every year. It’s a golfwrx tradition. Any iron that Callaway or TaylorMade gives the same name as the driver gets ripped, even though Srixon does that, too. To be fair, Callaway comes up with some goofy names. I make fun of them. The performance makes you forget that. The feel is outstanding IMO. The tri-sole is nice. Your scorecard does not care about the name of your irons. 

 

I think you are on to the best game improvement irons out there this year in testing the Zxi4 and standard Elyte. The updated Zxi 4 is a big improvement IMO. They’re both beautiful. I like the overall look of the Srixon a little more but it’s close. I like the look from address of the Elyte because the top line is not as blocky and the size is just right. The loft progression of the Zxi4 is strange, don’t really get their thinking there — 2 degree gaps on one end, 5, 6 and even a 7 degree gap at the other. That can be fixed by bending. It is getting great reviews. The last few generations I have liked the feel of the ZX4 more than the ZX5.

Yes, I've found the same usually when using pulls from Titleist clubs into other OEM models.

Took some swings during my lunch break and really like the feel of these! I'm already looking forward to seeing how much better they feel on real grass in an outdoor environment. My 7 iron swing speed hovers in the low 90's and I was seeing ball speed around 125 mph on good strikes. 

 

Spin was on the low side but I was drawing the ball a bit too much so that always causes my spin to drop. The spin wasn't concerning because I was still coming in plenty steep enough.

I ordered a set with black $ taper 120s on Jan 24th. I still haven’t received shipping notice. My guess is the shafts are back ordered. Anyone have any information about this?  If this is the problem when are they expecting the shafts to be in stock?

must be back ordered. was looking at the options earlier today and did not show the 120 available to order only the regular 110

I ordered on 1/19 and mine just shipped today.  My sales rep told me Srixon ran out of heads so for almost three weeks they were out.  New batch arrived last Friday so they are planning to get caught up.  He said orders were well in excess of expectations so the slight delay was created.

I had a friend order on 2/6 and his are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I think it’s more of a shaft issue than a head issue.

This has happened the last 2 or 3 releases from Srixon.  Right out of the gate, they run out of heads with the same explanation.

These are great sticks.  I say that about every iteration of their irons lol.  I still own and play 565/765 combos.  These irons really didnt do anything my set did.  I was all set to jump on them but no need really as my set is perfectly fine.  But for someone wanting a new set and looking at new stuff these simply will not disappoint.

I think the only thing I don't like about this new year's Srixon clubs (across the board) is they added more offset to the utility irons from the previous generation.  

 

Really impressed with their fairway woods.  Got me to sell my titleist.

To those who tried both ZX4 MK2 and ZXi4 - any difference in feel? I understand the face material is the same but the body is different i.e. 431 vs SUS17-4 steel. Does the ZXi4 have the same matte/satin finish as the MK2?

 

Still have the z545 in the bag, thinking of either of the above for a change. MK2s will be marked down soon, so wondering if there's any noticeable feel/sound/performance improvements with the ZXis that's worth the price.

To me the ZXi 4 are a lot better feeling and sounding than the MKii.   They are the same top like thickness as the 5 and 7. So improved look.   
 

Finish is the same satin finish as the 5 and 7 also.

I just got back from 4 days / 5 rounds at Bandon with my new set of ZXi5 (5-AW). These things perform and are forgiving. My previous set was combo ZX5 / ZX7 but this time i went all ZXi5. As a 10 index (it is currently higher than I usually am which is an 8 index) I shot 77, 81, 75, 84, 78. Pretty much every round under my index. I am a believer in the added forgiveness so i would encourage all of you thinking about combo sets to really ask yourself if you are good enough for the ZXi7 irons….lol. I already know the answer!!!

I need to order a z forged ii 8 iron and zxi5  4 iron both u-h.  I play stock length with a slightly counterbalanced shaft and midsize grips and would like to avoid tip weights

Did you try the hybrid? If so, what were your impressions?

First round of testing on Sim.  Mixed Feelings so far.  the Short irons from 8 down are awesome.  Launch high straight with slight draw and very easy to hit.

 

I struggled a bit with the 4-6 irons.  Ill need more testing for sure.  I did not like the utility on first testing.  The standard 4 iron was just as easy to hit. The utility does shine off a tee though!

I just got back from a quick golf trip to AZ (I love the WMPO).  After four rounds, I could not be happier.  The ZXi4 5-iron is a great addition to my bag, giving a little extra help where I need it.  The rest of the ZXi5's are a noticeable improvement in feel from the ZX5 MKii's.  I don't think they fly any farther, but they do appear to launch higher and land softer.  Both were equipped with the same shaft (Modus 105 stiff), so I think it's a pretty direct comparison.  Overall, I'm really happy with the upgrade.

I’ve played a few rounds on the sim with my ZXi5’s so far and my main takeaway is that they feel WAY better than pretty much all of the other irons in this category

I just finished putting grips on and turning down the ferrules and I am ready to put them in play. I settled on the black and gold ferrules to match the X100 labels. They look awesome and I am going to take some head to head swings against my T100 irons in a day or two. Will report back with my thoughts.

The original ZX7 spun pretty low and I would fly some greens occasionally. I bent them a degree weak and they were perfect. I don’t think you will see much in it.

Very interested in hearing your thoughts vs your t100.
