2025 Srixon ZXi Irons

Range session beforehand was better than on course. But there were a couple of toe hits that did much better than expected. But first round of the season, so need to warm up into it. 

 

The G440 LST though, I was hitting on a an absolute frozen rope. What a driver.

Anyone mess with the lofts on theirs? Thinking of going 1 degree weak in everything. I’ve got 4/5 in the ZXi5 and 6-PW in the 7. Figured it will increase spin a bit and reduce the offset. Plus I really don’t need to hit them as far as I do.

I went 1-2 degrees weak across the set.  Gave the ability to hit something 120 ft in the air if I want, but still flight down as needed.

i did some final testing today.

I either really suck or just don't have the SS anymore for 3-4 irons.  even the 4 utilty is more than I can handle.  the 5 iron is flipping money though.  Same distance as 4 iron (205 ish) but carries 10 yards further.  I wish I could carry an iron 200 but I just can't anymore.  i can carry the 5 iron 190 ish.  

I may try some GI irons later but I'm pretty happy with the decision to start the year with the ZXI7

I cheated on my ZXi7's with a set of Blueprint S during my member/guest weekend. Iron game was definitely sub par and I was hitting a lot of shots in the low toe. After the weekend, I'm leaning toward the ZXi7's are more forgiving. Going to try and get some head to head work in this week.

Can't compare irons like that any longer, it's all about the loft. A modern day 5i is a 4i from ten years ago.

Waiting patiently for the shops to get these in stock, unsure what the hold-up is.

I made some small mods.  I did not like the AW at 51 and had that bent to 50.  Bent the PW to 45.  Left the 9-6 as is (41,36,32,28).  Have a zxi5 5 iron and had it bent 1 degree weak to match the 5 iron from the zxi7 at 25.  Only problem was I was hitting it 8 yards longer when just about all the other clubs in the mid irons gapped at 10-13.  Because of its higher launch it was going 8 feet higher than the 6, spinning 20 more rpms despite 5 mph more ball speed.  I had it bent back to 24.  When I had it bent back, the guy at PGASS asked me what lie I wanted it at, and said oh its just from Srixon, should be good at 62* (1* up) and he said nope, its at 60.  Left me a bit disappointed.  I have to check the whole set now.  That said...I love these clubs

I don't know why, but I found the blueprints just felt too head heavy for me

I have the opposite experience but it's all in the build. I built my ZX7's to D4 and my Blueprints are D2.

noticed some of you talking about the forged ii blades on the last page so feel like I should chime in...  I have a combo set with 2 blades, then zxi7's.  They blend pretty well.  it feels like the blades may be a touch heavier but if so, only by a small fraction.  I do love how similar all of these irons look while standing over the ball.  You don't get that "oh that blades tiny, must be hard to hit" feeling.  The more I play them, the less I think about them being different honestly.

 

I can understand why they are on a 4 year cycle, there's not a lot of tech changing going on in blades.  

 

I do like the blades but being truthful, my mp32's feel a little better (flush compared to flush).  That's extremely minor and simply a personal opinion.  

 

My only gripe with srixon would simply be more customization on the club building...ie, different swing weights, bring back double soft/hard stepping.

Huge forgiveness drop off for the ZXi4 from the MKII and super low spin.  For a moderate swing player there are way better options…. Reference the AskGolfNut reviews…

I have to say I love my clubs but as I’ve hit them a few times, I’ve discovered a few problems with the build. 4ZXiU was supposed to be bent to 22…was 23 and lie off by a degree. 5 iron lie off as well. Guess it’s been a while for me getting new clubs and when I got my last Titleist set I didn’t modify lofts just lies but lesson learned… verify your mods.

Me too actually - ball striking has improved a lot recently and have thought about weakening my Zxi7's

Great combo! I have the PW in the Forged II in my combo set, and the ZXI7 9iron will be the next to get replaced by one 🙂

Anyone compare the ZXi5 to the OG ZX5 (not MKii)? Wondering if there were noticeable differences in any area.

The no upcharge recoil options on the site are the dart 65 in F3 and F2 and the dart 75 in F4. Has anyone been able to order the dart 75 in F3? Are they just out of stock or was it never offered?

Always liked the feel of these Srixon but the top line is quite thick for me. I think Srixon is second to only Miura in constancy if feel through the different models.

First Round with these today...

 

Mixed results.  They are long.  They feel good.  I had a funny 2 way miss with irons I know it's not the clubs but I was relatively inacruate with them today.  I did find them Very easy to hit inc the 5 iron which I roped a couple times.  

 

The 8-PW are long.  I need to get my Lie Angles checked for sure though as I don't know what was going on with the Right miss which I never have. 

 

Excited for the next round.

Tried to order a set of ZXi7 with DG TI X100 a few weeks ago but the shafts were out of stock. Was told they would be in stock today. Checked back and they told me they won't be getting them until 6/7 now. I'd rather not wait that long so willing to pay more to have someone build up a custom set. Does anyone have a good builder they know who I could order a custom set from (ZXi5 4-5 iron, Zxii7 6-PW) and get built up within the next few weeks?

I wish I could play the Z Forged II irons.  I demoed one and the looks and feel are amazing.  Forgiving for a blade.  Problem for me, they just don't go very far. lol  If I get some money, would like to buy the 8,9,pw just for fun.
