Interested in MMT irons shaft

I finally received and took my T200 2i utility with MMT 105S out today. It’s an absolute beauty. Exactly what I want out of this club. Excellent feel, dispersion and length.

I have pondered the T200 irons for sometime now (currently in ZX5 4-6, ZX7 7-P in Modus 120s). I had never really considered graphite shafts but this shaft is really nice.

If I was to go down this T200 route with MMTs what weight would I like to as a starting point 125S? I don’t know if the shaft characteristics change much from the hybrid shaft to the heavier iron shafts so if anyone can chime in, it would be helpful.

If you know you like the 105s why not start at 105s? Its only like 9g lighter than your modus. I game the 105s for all my irons and they feel great. You can always bump up to 105tx which is 113g or the 125s if needed. Id do yourself a favor and go mp 245 over the T200 though. I’ve gamed both at 2 degrees weak and they are similar performance but night and day better feel and no upcharge for the MMTs with the 245.

If you like the Nippon Tour120 S try the 105S first IMO. MMT 125 is pretty stout. It feels much heavier, dead, muted compared to a more lively Tour120 S. MMT 105S is going to be closer to 120X in flex feel IMO.

I play Tour125X in ZX7s and have a set of ZX7/ZForged comobs with MMT125 S and they are comparable in weight/flex. Tour120 S is going to feel at least a flex, if not 1.5 flexes worth softer, so 125S I'm afraid would be a lot more shaft than you're expecting.

I took your suggestion and hit both today. The MP 245 felt much better. Similar distances but I feel the 245 might be a bit more forgiving. The no up charge MMT and no up charge midsize MCC +4 grips from carls in the 245s made a $600 difference as well.

Nice you wont be disappointed. My mishits with the MPs feel like my center strikes with the T200. I got a good deal for them from discountdans as well.

Do the 105tx exist?
