are these supposed to be in stores today or just like shipping or something??  My local PGA Tour SS in Roswell GA is absolutely clueless.

I picked up a 9 degree Elyte Max at pga superstore. Had the standard Elyte to trade in for playability. I have a 9 degree TD TD on order from DD's. They had a 10.5 td td in store and it definitely looks good.

Curious if anyone else feels this way - to me the TD line sits open via setting it down square and then it tilts back and open (almost like more “bounce” is exposed if that makes sense), vs just sitting open while it’s flat on the ground. I can never get comfortable with it behind the ball.

Ping LST on the other hand still sits flat but the face is just angled away slightly.

Agreed.  I put them all in +1 to make it appear less open

Picked up a TD Max 9* today to test against my AIS TD Max. Weighed the head, and it came in at 191.8, with a 9g and 4g weight. Actual weights were 8.7 and 3.8 for the 2 weights. My AIS TD Max head comes in at 196.2, so need to pick up a heavier weight to bring the weight up on the elyte, especially since I play a 45" driver. Anyone else have a lighter head weight on theirs?  What are the 2 removable weights that should come stock in the head?  Anyone know?

Yeah I was looking at them at golf galaxy and still seemed to do that same flare open thing, but that’s always worse on floor vs a tee box. In other news though after one round today the Elyte Mini is an absolute weapon… I like what Cally is doing with this Elyte line, seems like something for everyone.

No, not really. But I am a heavily fade biased player. Toe strikes for me travel straight and will tail a little right. Unless I put a really bad swing on it - no helping that. Head I play is the 10.5° at S/N with a DI 6x, swing weight D2.5 (with a midsize grip, so closer to D4 accounting for that), heavy weight back.

Contrarian position on the Elyte TD Max:

I had nearly identical results between the Elyte TD max and the AI Smoke TD Max. Ball speed and spin within 2 mph and 200 rpm.

Obviously ymmv, but to me, this wasn't an evolutionary release, merely incremental.

Some flavor of the month driver.
Some driving iron for Links courses.

A hybrid to save my bad shots.
Titleist blades when I feel lucky otherwise something more forgiving.
A Vokey wedge or 2.
I hate every one of my 17 putters.

That’s correct.

So just for my knowledge, I want to get this straight because there is a lot of information and I want to make sure I'm understanding.  Callaway released TD Max in 9/10.5 even stating directly from Callaway that 9 degree would be available in LH in promo material.  Not on the Callaway site, but other outlets took orders for the LH heads....people ordered.

Now Callaway is saying that the LH promo material was a typo???  Yikes what a mess.

IDK how to explain but this is such an important feature of drivers to me, like when you sole it, does it point at your intended target line? And how stable is it to just lay it there? I hate when companies design drivers that have a rounded sole where I ground the club so the face is not stable when i go to grip it. PING drivers are so stable in playing position regardless of adapter setting.

Yeah exactly what I mean. At least with driver it’s teed up so it’s not the end of the world but when fairways do it I don’t even try to hit them.

100%. I gave the E-TD Max a good workout, but like its brother, the standard TD, it sits oddly open.  It may be weighted to close around the shaft during the swing but I don't need to see something sitting wide open at address.  I've never understood Callaway's design philosophy on that "open at address" vibe.  Good drivers, but as a sometimes inside-out swinger it can cause me to manufacture a neutral face by manipulating the grip prior to my swing.

PING and Titleist just sit square.  The PING LST might be slightly flatter than their other offerings, but at address it points at my intended line.  Same with GT2/GT3.

PING G440 Max 15° Tour Chrome

PING G440h 20° Velicore+ Blue 8

Swingspeed was equal as well?

I saw faster ballspeed on elyte standard over smoke td max,but it was primarily because I was swinging elyte faster.

Same overall headweight and swing weight, same shaft in each.
