JPX 925 Forged

I got to look at the fitting head to see how drastic the sole is and I was impressed, I have not gotten along with the Srixon sole in the past but this looks very workable. The leading edge has quite a bevel on it, I would really like to hit them off grass but that is next to impossible around here any longer.

You are going to buy them.
Here’s to hoping they work for you Jim! 😊

Just got the note from my pro that my 925FBs are in. I ordered them with KBS $-Tapers, but didn’t have the option for the dark/onyx shaft option. So, I ordered the black KBS $ Tappers independently and hopefully will have the build done by Friday. Once they are done I’ll post some pictures on here.

These really have my attention.  I LOVE my Srixons, but currently playing 718 AP2 as they seem to be a touch more forgiving.  I don't practice at all anymore and may be looking for something like a ZX5 but that sole is just a bit too much for me... these 925F look like they could be a really nice option.  I have stayed away from Mizuno since the 223 as the leading edge would dig and give me some wrist pain.  With this new leading edge grind, the 925F could be exactly what I am looking for at this stage of my game.  I don't love the jacked lofts, but that's easy to just pick the next club down really.  I am intrigued to say the least.

First hit today…only hit about 15 off my matt but these feel sooo good. Was hitting against my 925 HMP and there’s a very good difference in the feel. HMP feel really good, but the forged are even better. Pic is comparing the 2 8 irons.

Has anyone hit these and didnt think they felt good? This appears to be a odd experience I have with Mizuno Hot Metal irons, they have a bit of a harsh feel to me. I hit a bunch of irons yesterday and it basically came down to these and the Cobra King Tours. The King Tours felt amazing but my dispersion was a fair bit better with the 925s, at least left to right. Distance wise its maybe be a wash with a slight advantage to the King Tours.

Yeah, hit mine against my 923 HMP and while I liked the feel of my HMP compared to other similiar irons, these were on another level. Performance was very close as well, better spin with the forged. Ordered mine last Friday, can't wait till they arrive.

Could you tell if they were as forgiving as the 923HMP’s?

Hit it yesterday.  I wouldn't say it felt bad, but the sound is kind of "slappy" sounding... like a high pitched crack.  I don't mind it really, but it is definitely a little different feel.  I think unless it's a full one piece forging, you just get a little different feedback.  But the forgiveness may be what I need right now.  Very interested in these.  It was a fitting head, so it was only the 7i, but it looks great.  I need to see the long irons though.

Yeah, slappy maybe.

I guess I can explain a bit more what it felt like was there was a lot of vibration coming through the shaft and I could feel it all.

King Tours had non of that, they just felt soft.

Now the king tours had graphite, PGI 95 and the 925 Forged had, I cant remember the exact shaft, but it was a 95 G KBS steel shaft. It wasn't one of the tapers, maybe a tour lite?

For me they were. Biggest difference to me was the consistency with distance, right/left dispersion were very close. my 923 HMP would have some shots that would just go forever and end up 10 yards longer than normal. the 925 forged were very consistent distance wise. I had some of my usual misses, a few low, a few out towards toe and they still got up and went, not punished as much as mishits on 923 forged in fitting I did where I chose the HMP last time.

Really impressed by these - the little relief on the sole is awesome. Great feel as well. They are long - maybe too long- but think I will bend weakly and have as a backup set to blueprint s. Really nice iron. IMG_0990.jpeg.ca1640946ac5b4efb3b2c7590a96a1c6.jpeg

Interested in the DG Mid 115 s400 as well. Hit one in a Ai200 and loved it but can’t find much info on the shaft.

I love the DG Mid. It feels and performs like a softer Project X to me. It does what it says its supposed to for my swing. I get good launch, flattens out, good height and spin but its very straight. Not nearly as much curve vs a Modus 120.

About the TI S400 version, I called True Temper directly because I was worried it may be the 130 version. They said basically that the normal 115 weighs in 112-113 grams and is not weight sorted. The black version will come in right on 115 grams and is weight sorted to +/- .5 gram thus the S400 moniker. I played the S300 silver non-TI version all summer and I can't tell any difference in the flex so I wouldn't even give it a thought.

Pulled the trigger. Wanted black so bad but my go to shaft is C Taper Lite 110. And amazingly the chrome version comes with them stock and not an upcharge like every other set I’ve got. Since it’s not available in black through Mizuno I had to go with chrome. They have shipped now the excruciating wait for UPS to hurry the F up. Lol

Can Anyone know the difference between DG Mid 115 S300 vs the Black DG Mid 115 S400 Tour Issue (which is the stock shaft for black 925F)?? I looked up the TT website and there are only 115 R300, S300, X100 and 130g Tour ISsue S400, X100.

Can't really find the "DG Mid 115 Tour Issue S400" on their website.

Take a look through this thread or maybe it was the one in the tour/prerelease forum but I believe the only difference was a tighter tolerance on weight.

These weren’t even on my radar as an option this year but my fitter had me try it and I was seeing some really nice results. It felt great, as well. I was seeing better ball speed and consistency compared to the P770 so I’m now down to the 925F or the ZXi5. I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on the two.

The zxi5 is going to look and feel pretty chunky compared to the 925F, not sure how important that is to you. I've only had them on sim as it's February in Michigan, but i much preferred the size and shape of the Mizunos.
