Didn’t work out?
those are my favorite shafts.  I just woukd want the black heads.  I still haven’t hit the 925 forged.  It’s on my list with the new P790 and Maxfli XC2. Honestly, the Maxflis are the ones to beat for me right now.  I would need to see/feel a big difference for me to want something else.

Its not them it's me, have a mental issue with the Sole.

I'm sure it has been mentioned, but I can confirm, with my order at least as of today, that satin 925F sets/heads are backordered until mid-July.

My order was for 5-GW and now don't expect it until very late July.  925F's in black heads are available.

I ordered a set last week, the store had some stock sets and rebuilt one of those sets to my specs. They said Mizuno had no problem with them doing the build that way and still reimbursed them. I was even able to have the shop add ferrules I had for me at no extra charge, and picked them up today. Might be worth a shot asking if your shop will do the same.

I may have missed it from earlier in the thread, but can anyone comment whether they think the pre worn leading sole makes much of a difference compared to to the 921 or 923 models? I have been playing the last couple models of Jpx forged but I always felt like something was a little lackingwith the turf interaction. Felt like when I played thinner soles in the past I was able either pick it clean or cut through the turf a little better, especially off hard fairways. Hoping the pre worn leading edge would make the sole play a little thinner?

I don't know if it make the sole play narrower, but it definitely digs less. I'm coming from mp63's which had a very thin sharp sole, the 925 dig way less and my hands are thankful for it.

Well…..enough of reading all the great reviews. I’d prefer the shiny version but since it appears that several irons in the chrome set are backordered l went with black. Ordered mine with the MMT 105tx shafts. Pretty excited.

My set just arrived here at work. The blacked out look is very sharp. The ferrules add a nice touch to break up the black heads and shafts.

I can add some feedback regarding the black finish and its durability. Its solid. Sole has faint brush marks, face will wear more, but because its a greyish finish on grooved section,  it hides it very well. Now sand/rocks will tear it up pretty quick, but I expected that. Thankfully dont see a lot of that around here.

Standard WRX question…

once the black finish comes off, will the club age like a raw club…

Some of the pics people have provided the wear almost looks like the wear you get on black finish wedges, like Vokey or Cleveland. Not raw but kind of vintage looking. I don’t mind it. Scuffed up black finish might be a nicer look that beat up chrome/satin.

You know I had that thought the other day. Im sure you can “strip” or refinish them in some fashion but the problem is I think there some kind of badge or something on the back of them. I dont know what its made of or what that would look like.

I've read and watched a lot of reviews now and these seem to be best in class.

They do get great reviews but I don’t know if they’re the best in class. It depends on what you’re in need of, how the shape suits your eye, sole preference, etc. This guy who wrote the review below loves them and says they are the best distance irons, but then he also says the P770 and ai200 deliver similar performance and that both are more forgiving.

As someone who absolutely LOVES the 925FB I will agree and say that it depends what you’re looking for. I’ve loved the 925 since I got a set early in the year, but I was fortunate to get chosen for the Srixon review here on Wrx and I’ve gotta say, the ZXi4/5 combo that I got is seriously competing with the 925. I LOVE them both and they perform a lot alike in many aspects, but also different in alot of ways too. Time will tell, but I’d say they are both best in class just depends what you like better.

The good news:  Mizuno JPX 925 Forged irons are in high demand.  That likely means they are a really solid club. No guarantees, but likely.

The bad news:  Just received news today that we will not be receiving our clubs until closer to August 10th. Originally, it had been July 18th that a new shipment of 925F heads would be arriving at Mizuno for assembly with delivery around 10 days later. Now, delivery of new heads is stated as July 31st with delivery 10 days later.

These are so good. I have some mp32s, and took the 8 iron and compared it to the 925f 9 iron (which is about same loft), and Ill be darned if they arent very close. Something of that is MP32s short irons are on the bigger side for a blade, but Im still taking back how much help the 925f gives while looking dang good for a good player, especially the black.

I originally went with the 925 HMP over the Forged based on numbers from my fitting and it was a mistake. I have now moved to Forged and playing some of the best golf I have played in a really long time. Coming from King Tours and looking for a little more forgiveness. I think they are pretty similar 8-gap but the 5-7 provide a lot more help.

Well, I'm not sure if Mizuno is just trying to set expectations, but have now received an update that the 925F's are backordered till the middle of August.  The response from Mizuno hints that "Sadly with supply chain and tariffs the expected arrival of the heads keeps being delayed when things change, once we receive the heads those clubs will go into production shortly after and ship out." are delaying the shipment of the clubheads.

Sounds like the clubheads are all manufactured but just sitting there.  I'm probably going to cancel the order at this point and go find some used irons. Or Maybe Srixon's instead. Bummer.

I went with 923 HMP over forged, corrected my error when the 925 came out. Absolutely love my 925 forged. I did like the 923 HMP a lot, but I was more inconsistent with distance, just some absolute bombs out of nowhere. the 925 forged have been very consistent and reliable in that area. I have not noticed any real loss in forgiveness, just a couple yards of distance, very minimal. The feel is much better as well.
