M sure a fair amount of guys here do it. But I  never have. Taking a brand new un-hit set tearing em down and re-shafting. 
Reminds me of that car show on Motortrend TV ‘Texas Metal’ where the guy buys a brand new Escalade, drives it straight to Bill’s shop and he immediately tears it apart and “voids the warranty”! 😂

I can have trouble spinning irons. I was looking at the new ZXI irons the 5 and 7 but I cannot spin them both were 4200-5000 with all kinds of different shafts tried. Tried the 925 forged and they were spinning 6-6200 for me and i swing 90-92 mph was hitting around 180-190 yards with a KBS $-taper 120S tried the modus 120X and loss 10 yards. Right now im using the mizuno pro 243 with modus 115x. Im thinking about doing the 925 forged with the $taper 120 5-P then mizuno T1 wedges 48 54 58 with irons bent 1 degree weak. and maybe either a 4 fli hi or the new ZXIU 4 with a 105s axiom in it. Even thought about 925 forged 4 iron with a graphite shaft.

got fitted into these a week ago along with the T3 wedges,just waiting for them to come in. My swing speed is 82-85 mph and was getting ~155 yards of carry on a 7 iron. I'd been playing irons that were 1/2 inch short for me (my WTF height is 36.5 and I'm 6 feet tall) and in regular shafts. Got fitted into the nippon ns pro 950gh neo shafts in stiff flex, which felt wonderful in my hands. 

 

I'm coming from taylormade burner 2.0s, and the lofts are actually pretty much the same on the 925s, so it wasn't too hard to adjust to. The 925s were easy for this 15 handicap golfer to hit, and felt amazing. Can't say enough good things about these clubs

Has anyone ever ordered direct from the mizuno website? I was curious if they shipped early or after the release date for these.

That would be my setup!! Just picked a Black Cobra combo King tour /CB $taper 130x. JPX forged is always a great choice! Thanks for the numbers. Gonna probably try them out my wallet hopes I don’t like them too much. In Whitesboro actually

That was my first time hitting $taper. Been in x100 for 20 years. Felt a little livelier. Tried the King Tour and enjoyed them. If I went with 925F I'd probably go 2 weak to get spin and decent angle up a touch. 

 

Those 3dp tour with $taper 130 pinned on bst right now must be calling your name... Your could tear up Crestwood and Hidden Valley with those!

Very interested in your experience. I’m looking at these for a bit more help. I’m playing a 243/245 combo set and love the 243s launch, height and spin. I honestly have not had a better fit in those areas for my swing. I just long for more

forgiveness on off days and maintain that launch, height and spin. Speed on off center hits is forgiveness so I’m guessing these will help in spades.  I’m probably going to order these at same lofts of the 243s hoping they do what I want plus give me more distance. The soles of the 243s are also Goldilocks; not too thin or thick and the 925s have that leading edge grind I’ve gotten along with in others before. One other comparison I’d like to see is against ZXi5s.

I will say feel wise it was very similar to the 243 for me but felt more forgiving and easier to hit with a little more distance.

Never had a black iron but 1- does the finish wear too easily and 2- would having black iron heads with steel shafts (non-black) look off? 🙂

Finish wears good...unless hitting out of sandy ground often.  Wouldn't look bad to me.  Some black heads look good with chrome or satin shafts.

I just ordered a 4i, 5i, and 6i Forged 925 from TGW. (Custon bend and shaft so I will have to wait three weeks apparently). Drooling in anticipation.

1.) this finish is part of the forging process, so it's supposed to last 

2.) I thought it did and currently installing black/black chrome shafts in them

That was the case with the 223s I had and felt like it impacted gapping and feel.  Maybe it was in my head.

I was hoping they would have black nippon 120's 🙂 but no luck

It seems like a really good idea to gray out the groove section, these should hold up pretty well.

Preordered LH 925 Forged 6-GW and T-3 52-10S/56-10M last week. Hoping for shipping email at least on the 925s soon. All with MMT 105S.
