So why the 2 degrees weak on the shorter irons and not the same degree across the set? Just to space out the longer irons more or was that with testing?

Longer irons get compressed for me.

I finally got out for a proper round today. The irons are good. More forgiving than my 243s. They definitely do not feel as good though. The short irons are fine and I’m not sure if I could tell the difference between the 925s and 243s. The set splits at the 7 just like the 243s but the difference is much more pronounced. It’s not a bad feeling at all and more of a clicky sound issue. Overall I had a bad day and need more time with them to figure everything out.

I’ve only had two small backyard sessions hitting just the 8 iron from my set. Really excited for warm/dry weather to get here and get them on the course. I just ordered the set I’m going to game with all my specs vs the stock set I currently have.

Going +.25” long and MMT 105 stiff hard stepped 1x.  I could play the stock DG Mids but I’ve switched to graphite last several years and don’t see myself going back to steel other than wedges.

Pulled the trigger. Wanted black so bad but my go to shaft is C Taper Lite 110. And amazingly the chrome version comes with them stock and not an upcharge like every other set I’ve got. Since it’s not available in black through Mizuno I had to go with chrome. They have shipped now the excruciating wait for UPS to hurry the F up. Lol

Finally had my fitting yesterday and the 925F was the clear winner for me. I honestly hit every other head so poorly that it’s not worth commenting the differences but for whatever reason the 925 was just like “home” through the whole process. Ordered 5-PW with KBS Tour V 110 and 1* weak to get the spin up a little and be closer to the lofts in my 921F. I went chrome since this shaft isn’t offered in black. Should be perfect.

I’m down to the 925F or the ZXi5, but I think I’m gonna pull the trigger and order these 5-PW, 1* weak with the DG Mid 115 shafts. The 925F wins the looks category hands down and I think ball speed retention on mishits is close enough between the two.

Did you test both of them?! I’m literally debating between the two as well

I’ve tested both and I found the 925 to have a softer feel and better spin. Both had about the same distance and stability. Srixon was a lot lower spin for me.

I have hit both of them. I was seeing higher ball speed and distance with the 925F. The ZXi5 launched higher but it is 1* weaker. Feel wise I’d probably lean towards 925F. Everything points towards 925F as the better option but I’m wondering if the larger head size of the ZXi5 would provide additional help on those days when I’m not swinging great.

With Mizuno saying the tech difference between previous gen to the 925f is the biggest jump ever. Curious has anyone actually compared the 923F vs the 925F?

A recent YouTube video had a guy testing them on launch monitor and the numbers were literally exactly the same to the dot. Wondering if anyone noticed real world differences.

That is my thought process as well, been playing a ZX 5/7 combo for years now but I love the look of the 925 Forged, just concerned about the smaller head size. It looks like the longer irons have a slightly longer blade length which is good for me but like you said, how will they perform on my off days?…

I’m coming from the ZX5s. I only have one round in so far, playing the second today, but my first round I wasn’t hitting the center of the club face and I hit the most greens I’ve hit (tied 16/18). They are way more forgiving than what they look like. We’ll see how today goes- cold, overcast and course will be wet.

Enters thread ....

Whopping 21f here in Cincinnati and I hit the 925 forged and t200 demo 7i today in a heated range.  925 had px lz 6.0 and t200 dg AMT white x100.

The 925 f blew it away with carry, total, and ball speed. Feel goes to 925f too.  Fitting bud told me the mizzy was the better head (not for me but overall).

I'm in the market for a 4i build and this one just went up on my list of targets. I've hit this, the new srixon 5 series, and t200.

Great iron.

I find that this iron is being misunderstood and misrepresented in a lot of the YouTube videos and other reviews I’ve seen so far. Seems like a lot of these guys are hitting 6 or 7 iron due to the demos they were sent of the fitting irons they have available so far. They’re all just calling it a 2 piece forged or even “hollow” iron while giving no mention to the short irons being different. They all seem to say they feel really good which is nice because the short irons should feel even better but, they seem to not even know much about them. I guess that’s just the current state of the game and the internet community but it’s a shame. To me this is more of a combo set built from the ground up and packaged together but it’s not getting marketed as that? Just my random thought for the morning I guess.

I agree with you.  To me these are a "Combo/Progressive" set of irons.  Long irons are a little large (not large by any means) and different metal make up and the shorter irons are smaller and different material again.

I played my first round with my 925’s today and I would say I’m pleasantly surprised by them. I was most recently playing P770/P7CB’s and TC201’s prior. Getting killed on off days by the P7CB’s led me down the road of toying with an iron offering more help. I noticed the 925’s have as good if not better forgiveness than 245’s and feel softer than anything I’ve bagged. First round hitting 83% of greens and shooting 1 under with 3 three putts really excites me about how much better I can get with these irons.

Nice round @lpitts82.  You're not making it any easier.  What shaft did you opt for?

I actually went with the c taper lites. I have been a modus guy for years but decided to venture out a little.

I don’t think the 8-G have the contour face. They are a one piece construction. They couldn’t do the contour ellipse milling with a one piece. Only the 4-7 with the multi material construction have that contour ellipse face

I emailed Mizuno and they said they do have the contour ellipse face in the 8-G.

Thanks for the PSA.  I ordered my 919 Tours with Align grips.  The visible red rib was about as straight as the main street at Mardi Gras.  I also asked for 1/2 inch over and they came standard length.  Maybe they had a "bring your child to work" that day and the kids were doing the club builds.

A little off topic, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts going from Modus to C-Taper Lite.  I'm contemplating the same move.  Any pros or cons?

To me it was a pretty easy change. I personally couldn’t tell a big difference
