Ok boys- hit the ZXi5, 925 Forged, 925 HMP and 245 Pros:

 

1.) HMP, Forged and ZXi5’s look very similar to previous models and all look very similar from address to my eye. 
2.) HMP and ZXi5 were a fraction hotter with ball speed than 925F and 245.

3.) Looks, in order, from best to least at address: 245, 925F, ZXi5, 925HMP

4.) Feel- which is subjective I know: 245, 925F, ZXi5 then 925HMP

5.) Distance: 925 HMP, then ZXi5 (-2 yards), 925F and 245 (-3.5 yards) 

6.) Accuracy: 245, ZXi5, 925F, 925HMP

 

I went into today thinking I’d be ordering the Black 925 Forged with black Project X LZ 6.5 shafts. After many shots and truly being fit, I was blown away by the feel, look, distance and control by the Pro 245. I have never hit any of these irons prior to today. I’m mad at myself I hadn’t even touched a 245 prior to today.
As of right now, after mulling it over with a glass/bottle of  wine, I will be ordering the Pro 245’s with KBS $ Taper 130Xs. The Black 925F are sexy as hell. I wanted them to win so bad- and it could’ve been the fact I was hitting a black head with a chrome shaft (I told my fitter that btw 😂), but the 245’s really were dominating every aspect of what we look for. I don’t have a perfect swing by any means, I’m super fast tempo with a very forward shaft lean at impact and the 245 just worked for my swing better than the others. 
Feel free to fire away with questions. The conditions were pretty great, 63* with a left to right wind- only thing was we were hitting off a mat. So I can’t give you any feedback on turf interaction.

very nice.  I demoed the 245 pros for a few rounds and found them great in the long irons but couldn't spin the short irons enough and struggled holding greens.  Same with the 790s for me.  The hollow irons and my swing don't get along.

Thanks for taking the time to take those.  I'm really surprised to see the HMPs have shorter blade lengths.  Really makes me curious on the 925F sizing.  Any idea when your black set will come in?

From the specs and a few things I’ve seen online the 925F are just slightly smaller.
 

I’m not positive but the order form has a 1-17-25 date, but it sure if that’s when it’s released or shipping.

Squarer toe on the ZX5 is exactly what I like and hard to find these days. Like it a lot! Thanks for the pics

same here, I have a shallow swing and struggle with height. I owned the 225 pro and had a lot of trouble stopping on greens. Plus would get fliers every so often and it would be 10 yards over the greens. Just don’t like hollow heads. 
 

tried the 925 forged and was getting 21* launch angle which is amazing for my swing. I’ve never hit that high before. Excited to get fit for these in a couple weeks.

I bought Mizuno MP 223s with Modus 105S three years ago.  As with nearly all Muzunos I've played over the past 40 years, I've had a tendency to dig with them; perhaps user error, but perhaps the lack of much bounce.   I've been interested in MP 243s because of the increased bounce and same combo 8-GW 1025 forged steel + multi-material CB 4-7.  Also, although I appreciate Mizuno irons, I've also been a Titleist fan for years, and missed the pre-worn leading edge of the AP2s.

 

To me, the new JPX 925 Forged APPEAR to offer the best of all worlds, new tech providing feel, a faster, forgiving forged face, more bounce, AND the bevelled leading edge and trailing edge.  Modus shafts AND even MMT graphite shafts are offered with no upcharge.  And they're not hollow.  The main problem right now is I can't evaluate turf interaction off mats-- and there's snow on the ground outside.

MP 245 are all hollow correct? They are Mizzy’s version of TM P790.

Great questions- and I’d need to spend more time with more than just a single iron, but height was just a slight higher trajectory from 925F and forgiveness I’d give the edge to ZXi5. But honestly, both are very comparable. I think it’s going to come down to what are very personal things: looks, feel and sound. I think they will perform very similar (especially is the same shaft) in my opinion but will come down each individuals top priority when choosing a set of irons.

I've been playing the JPX 900 Forged since they came out and I've really liked them.  I wouldn't say that I love them but I get along with them alright. 

 

Are we enough iterations away from the JPX 900's that I should consider looking at replacing them with the 925's?  The black finish has me all like - "how you doin?!"

 

I would consider the 245's because I love the look but I hit them too far (oh good for me), I'm not so fond of the 243 look and the 241's for me would be too much work.  I guess I just have to go hit them for myself!

I’ll be honest, I was shocked to see that these look that much smaller than the HMP and also smaller than the ZX7.  It could be that the plastic on the head and black makes the top line even smaller but they just are.
 

The thing I find funny is the Forged have more offset than the HMP based on looks and specs on the website.
