I played my first round with my 925’s today and I would say I’m pleasantly surprised by them. I was most recently playing P770/P7CB’s and TC201’s prior. Getting killed on off days by the P7CB’s led me down the road of toying with an iron offering more help. I noticed the 925’s have as good if not better forgiveness than 245’s and feel softer than anything I’ve bagged. First round hitting 83% of greens and shooting 1 under with 3 three putts really excites me about how much better I can get with these irons.

How do the TC-201s compare to the 925F?

I currently play 923F and currently in the process of changing from a flippy swing to compressing the ball (Trying to get +8 to 4 AOA to 0 or negative). My ball striking was horrendous but every iron shot was still in play. Mishit were still within +/- 10 yards of the stock yardages

Ive heard TC-201s dispersion pattern is amazing and that Miura line is currently my dream iron.

The TC201 are beautiful irons, but not all that easy to play imo. I had a set for a while and ended up moving to the CB302 and they were easier to me to keep in play. If you have plenty of speed either one will work well, I was speed challenged and the CB302 worked better.

I actually did the opposite and went to the 923 tour from the CB302 and was a lot happier.

I presently play the 925 F and love them, easy to play and a nice looking package. Geared more to a slower Swing speed again IMO. Shaft choice is king from all my experimenting and if you get it right all is well.

But if you have Miura on your mind nothing else will do, I understand and spent a year or so spending money on that rabbit hole. I think everyone should try them, some will never come back and some like me found them to be just another iron.

Ha Ha, all that said and I still want a set of Baby Blades. Might end up just looking at them since it is the same problem, I don't have the speed to really make them talk.

Where I am hitting the 925F 9 iron now it would be a 8 or 7 BB, but the lofts are also 4-6 degrees weaker on the BB compared to the 925F.

Just special ordered the satin last weekend. Hit them next to the MP 245's and the JPX 925 were a bit more consistent. Replacing my MP25 gamers.

I tested every new iron that was recommended by the You-tube wizards.....so after 3 weeks and 19 different brands.....settled on these 925 Forged. Was tempted to go BLACK, but resisted. The chromes look good anyway. I just loved the look and feel of these irons. And I took a big leap back into steel shafts - going for the Zelos 6 -- and very impressed with these. So I'm all set until next year when the You Tube dudes recommend another 35 new releases.

I came from playing the 923 tours, which I loved. At some point I decided to try to 923 forged in the 4 and 5 iron. They performed exactly as they are designed, to get a little help in the long irons over the very demanding long irons of the 923 tours. It was a great combo set. When the 925 forged came out I decided to give them a shot. After several rounds here's my thoughts. They feel great. Gap through 8 is OBVIOUSLY a different construction. The feel and sound is as good as it gets. When you get into the 7-4 they get a little "clickier" and they definitely look "chunkier," but still a very soft feel and great "sound" on good strikes. My ONLY complaint is hot spots. With my 923 tours you can hit a bunch of balls in a very small circle over and over. They're so consistent it's crazy. With the 925 forged, I can hit the 8 iron (which I'd like to be a 150 club) from 140 or 160. Today I hit a gap wedge, which should be like a 115 - 120 max club 145 out of nowhere. Has anyone else noticed this issue? I expect it with hot metals (which are constructed more like the 925 Forged 7-4) and I'd be completely  fine with this in long irons, but very suprised to be getting these hot spots in the 1 piece construction in the lower irons of the 925 forged. Also, I really wish they'd stuck with the same construction of the Gap-8 in the 7 iron. I really don't want the "help" until I get to 6 iron, but that's just sort of a personal preference. Thinking about taking them back and just getting the S3's. The 925 forged are great in so many ways, but I don't need a pitching wedge suddenly going 150 when I need it to be a 125 club. Anyone have this issue?

I’ve been playing mine for 2 months now and not experienced any “hot spots” or anything out of the ordinary. They’re a great set of irons for me

No hot spots for me. I think they are one of the most consistent irons I’ve played.

Same for me. They have saved me on some not so great strikes and given close to same result as a well struck shot

I've had them for nearly two months, as above, ZERO hot spots and a remarkably consistent set of irons all the way through the bag.  I alternate between a Vice Pro + and a ProV1x and have noticed no clickiness or difference in in feel through the bag (5 thru P).  I have the Mid 115 shafts and midsize MCC grips.  In fairness I have been flushing these irons and playing some of my best golf in the last 18 months.  For some reason I am now making a few more putts a round too.  All attributable to my new irons no doubt. 😉

One thing I have committed to since purchasing, is a fade for 95% of shots which is working out terrifically well.  For reference my 7 iron is 89mph and 175-178 yards carry.  4 index.  Full disclosure I have never taken much stock in hot spots after playing for 35 years.  I normally think it's just me finally finding the middle of the face, or some grass/debris between the ball and club face.  YMMV.

Any pics of 925 Forged in blacks after some wear and tear?  I have been waiting on an order for 925F's in satin since mid-June, but Mizuno is essentially saying "delayed due to tariffs".  However, they do have the 925F's in black in stock.

The order is for my kid who does like the black color. So either switch to the blacks, which I am not opposed assuming the wear and tear seems OK, or find a used set of satin color ones (maybe even just get the 923F's used) or just go find another iron outright (Titleist, Srixon, Hogan, TM, etc...).

I have had experience with "black" irons before when I owned the Cleveland TA5's in "gunmetal" back in the early 2000's. Just curious how these 925F's are holding up in black. Thanks in advance.

I had the 925FB until recently. 11 rds of golf and 2-3 range sessions a week in almost 3 months and the wear is very minimal. The only thing I had was my 7 iron got used out of a fairway bunker and that took off some of the ‘paint’, bit that was expected hitting out of sand. The normal use from hitting off grass or mat was barely noticeable. I don’t have anymore pics as I just sold them recently

I’ve had mine since release day. They are holding up very well. Probably the most robust black irons besides the Cobras.
