They're on nike.com "Nike Tour Golf Sweater", not cashmere though

Yeah totally different. I own every color of the knits on Nike and they changed the material in 2023 and now it’s paper thin sleeves are really wide so I stopped buying them.

pebble beach has Rory’s hat shoes band sweater in the trophy case and they are actually thick cashmere sweaters which of course Nike doesn’t offer to the public.

I loved the old 1/4 zip pullovers that were all NBA coaches wear and in all golf shops then they went weird with the collars and black lined zippers.

I still wear those OG ones all the time.  Had the front left chest swoosh

Nike sucks now. I used to be a Nike fan, but this company is getting worse every year at this point.

Their upcoming offerings are looking pretty promising right now.

The ongoing issue seems to be when they make something that looks good, it’s cheaply made and the functionality of the shoe is either wrong or makes no sense. When Nike makes a shoe that is functional (for whatever sport but mainly golf), they decide to make a whacky or ugly design. Didn’t used to be this way, but it certainly feels like a leadership/ key decision makers problem. Hard to pinpoint when it started but i noticed it 5-6 years go.

i happen to live in the land of nike (portland area) and have grown up being a big fan of their stuff.

I personally grew tired of the lackluster offerings (as you mentioned) in all sports. Yes, i love retros, especially those i always sought after but couldnt afford when i was younger, but they seem to have moved away from innovation, which was their bread and butter. Form AND function.

what I have noticed, in the short time since the new CEO took over, seems to lead in a direction where I am beginning to be a bigger fan again. I hope all of that carries over to Golf as well as, others have said, the offerings look promising so far this year and I hope that it continues. Make products again that are cutting edge technology and design bold, but not over the top. If they could get back to their roots, then I hope we will see more desirable products going forward.

I remember when they fired previous CEO and announced they were bringing in this new guy. That’s when it was obvious how much they missed Phil Knight in the day to day operations, but anytime a new CEO or any head figure type (governor/mayor, commissioner, even a regional manager) is brought in, they tend to bring along some of “ their people “ and replace some of the existing department heads. So idk if it’s a CEO issue or some of the various decision makers that caused Nike to forget what they did best.

Imho, 100% ceo driven top down. The last ceo (donahoe?) was very e-commerce and direct to consumer driven (iirc he was ceo of ebay?) Silicon valley type iirc. That drives resources and focus away from the core identity that WAS nike. The new ceo (Eliot Hill i think is his name) is an old Nike head that came up from entry level and from a culture perspective, fits a whole lot better than the previous. Fact check me, as this is all from memory. When you have someone whos directive is solely on ecommerce vs innovation as a core identity its hard not to blame. Again hope the new culture shifts back to where they were.

Yeah that sounds right. I couldn’t remember the 2 guys names, but the current CEO was definitely a former Nike employee.

I used the Air Victory Tour 2 last year and they have been my favorite golf shoe so far. In wide, they have a roomy toebox. Very stable and firm, but still able to walk 18 without trouble.

Kind of interesting how Rory and Scottie both wear the Tour Flex Pro spikes on their Nikes.

Perhaps these are the best performing spikes available? (or in their opinion/preference)

Whereas the FootJoy guys use the Puslar spikes.

Might be late to the party here....but does anyone have any insight when Nike will release the Victory Pro 4 line that Scotty and Tommy Fleetwood have been wearing? I saw Doug Gim wearing a sick white with black swoosh on the weekend.

What is driving this? Quality? Subjective opinion on style? Im curious because I exclusively play nike shoes. I used to love FJ, but they have absolutely tiny toe-boxes and cant even get through a round in them now.
