There’s an art to club building, but putting the right shaft brand and model and grip model on is pretty simple stuff.

It’s funny you say that, because and I know it’s not on the same level…but I don’t know how many times I’ve went to a “Big Box Golf Store”  and I knew way more about the products coming out, what was or wasn’t offered etc. When my son went to get fit for a driver the Guy kept calling the “Denali Blue” shaft a “Tensei Blue” shaft  because wait for it…they both have blue in them. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I can almost understand getting the name mixed up in conversation, but most of these shafts are clearly marked and if you’re pulling from an order sheet and flub that up repeatedly……

Yeah I don’t see how they mess up to be honest. Grips all have barcodes to scan, I’m assuming the shafts do as well. On the loft and lie I figure most of these companies grab the “stock” head and just bend according to what’s on sheet…meaning you ask for +1 up and it may just be +1 from whatever that particular head was set at and not necessarily “stock” measurement. Hope that makes sense.

Original order was direct from the website on Jan 16th, zero customization, just rounded lead edges and a heel grind on the 60, shaft ordered was KBS Tour 130 X, shafts that were actually in there was KBS Tour V 120 X.  I haven't checked lengths or anything like that since they came in wrong from the get-go

 

Update - I received my replacement order and it is also incorrect.  Correct shafts this time, but they came with fully stock heads, none of the round lead edge grinds I ordered, or the heel grind on the 60.  I don't believe this was a packing issue, looks like whoever processed my replacement order failed to key in the grinds.  At this point after 2 orders and numerous people having issues, I've asked for a refund as I've lost confidence that I'll ever receive the correct order.  Guess I'll just get me a fresh set of Vokeys.  Hope all of you guys who got a correct order enjoy em!

I’m pretty nervous I ordered mine with 610 shafts -1/2” 1* flat and d4 swingweight. I don’t understand how you can build a club if you screw up the most basic part of it

Standard practice for things like this would be that the system feeds specs down the line and they're checked off as complete when done at a minimum, and in some cases all steps/items are verified as present at completion.  There's zero chance all this "low cost", poor QC hasn't cost them more than it would have to do things the right way from the start. Books have been written on this since at least the 80s but some still refuse to learn the simple lesson that "quality is free"; it's the shortcuts that you pay for.

They showed up this morning. The stamping is right. The grips are right. The ferrules are right. Looks like they are actually 2° flat compared to the RTX4s I have. The shafts are right, this shocked me cause I asked for MMT 105X even though they aren't a shaft that was available on the Cleveland site. 

 

I asked for the loft/bounce paint fill to be white and it is. I also asked for the Z-Alloy to be white and there is no paint fill on that. That's not enough for me to send them back.

Those look great! So that is indeed the S grind on the 56? It looks to me like what they describe as trailing edge ("relief edge") grind, as your pics don't make it look like much/any material was removed from the heel. I guess in person you can tell that something was removed from that area?

The trailing edge only wouldn't have the grind go towards the face. The above pic looks exactly like the S grind on the RTX 6 and the Vokey trailing edge with heel grind on the K I have.

Well surprise... mine came with the wrong shafts, ordered 125 Nippon Modus Wedge shafts, got 105 lol

Definitley took some off the heel, here is a photo of the 56 they sent me without the grind that I sent back!

Maybe this was their plan all along.  Build up an inventory of returns and wait until someone orders the specs of wedges they've made incorrectly!

Exact same thing happened to me. I sent them back to get redone.

Ended up cancelling my order Monday morning. Order was already late and all of these wrong orders were scaring me.

Ordered a Callaway Opus as soon as I cancelled my RTZ order. Opus is out for delivery today.

Pretty annoying to be hoenst, my shop guy offered me a pretty hefty discount. I dont think he wanted to deal with the return haha, so I decided to put them on the boards here. Sold instantly. They look SOOOOO good man... but my current setup works great, honestly was a impulse decision based on how amazing they look but for the amount of money I would expect them to be right.

I've been in the vokey camp for quite a few years, wound up getting a 62* RTZ for fun to try out and wow, this thing spins like mad off the chip shots.  The grip it has reminds me of the old sm2's but so far the spin hasn't been terrible on full shots so I'm really honestly impressed.  Mad props to Cleveland, I had ignored them since the 588 days and they certainly have my attention again.  

 

Now if only they could make a 6 bounce T grind and 10 bounce V Grind...

Question for any builders or wedge aficionados.

 

im going to pickup a set of Cleveland’s and I want to replicate as set of vokeys in bounce and grinds.  Whats the tour rack raw bounce and hand grind equivalents of (i know not all hand grinds are available on all bounce options)

 

Vokey 

50 s (50 mid trailing edge relief?)

56 s (56 mid trailing edge relief?)

60 k*  (my guess is 60 full with s grind and sharp leading edge?)

Well got shipping information … that’s a start. Supposed to be delivered today…not optimistic

Surprise…they arrived. Only two errors so I guess it’s a positive. The paint for the initials is the wrong color and the wrong grips. TBH I like the wrong paint better so I guess it’s a win. There is definitely an issue with transmitting the order as they have those both wrong on their order form compared to my actual order.

 

I know they are new, but 25 swings destroyed a Prov1…yikes
