Scotty 5.2 and 7.2 coming to retail

Is it just me but just seems all of Scotty Cameron mallets just don’t frame the ball smoothly?  I have lots of Scotty Cameron’s and so want to give a mallet of his a try but everyone I grab and bring to course it just doesn’t frame the ball correctly at set up?  Thank god for golfmart 90 day play policy or I would be broke.  I’ve tried but the 5.2 and 7.2 and seems like it doesn’t sit right behind the ball.

I don’t like the way the Scotty fang rule mallets frame the ball either.

 

the new squareback 2 and and Golo and fastback models in plumbers necks all frame it very nicely for me.

I like the way the 5.2 frames the ball. I don’t like the way any of his slant necks frame the ball though. The hosel is always too far away from the center of the face. Feels like I’m hitting the ball way out on the toe.

Does anyone know what the shaft diameter is for these? 355? 370? Thinking of grabbing one and swap in a matte black CT Tour shaft.

I see the 5.2 and 7.2 advertised on eBay as 2024 models (and 2025). Plumber's neck and some toe down is the hosel that I'm most comfortable with.

 

About 3 weeks ago the PGATSS near me put at least 4 dozen new models on the shelves. And NOT locked up. 

Not a single .2 model.

 

Now I see this January thread about them finally coming to market.

 

Anybody know if there's any difference ? And if so, what it is ?

I have tried out the 7.2 for over a year on various practice greens.  Finally bought one!!

 

My club also had a 5.2, and I liked the way it framed the ball, but, if I am honest with myself, I put a much better stroke on the ball with the 7.2.

 

My favorite thing I have noticed is mis hits with this putter feel different so you know you did it, but actually roll out almost the same amount.  Very pleased with my purchase.
