I just got a 5 wood turned down to 17*. It’s pretty hot. I may need to keep it 18* if I want certain gaps but I like it more than the GT2 which I thought was solid.

With the TI being a premium deep face 3 wood, what's the angle on triple diamond?  Seems like an internal rivalry.

TD will most likely be slightly lower on launch and higher on spin.

If you just want your fairway woods to go as far as they possibly can and not as fussed about peak height and spin, then Ti is your best bet.

If you want your fairway woods to be more of a precision approach tool, hit a more specific carry number, fly through as specific trajectory window, and come down with more descent angle then TD is more likely to be it.

Ti behaves an awful lot like a shrunken mini driver so more feasible to hit off the ground, which makes it less of a 1 trick pony in that spot underneath primary driver.

I took my Ti 5 wood out for its first spin and it was great. It does fly higher than most fairway woods but I like that it’s lower spin since I play in tough winds a lot. I averaged 242 with the two shots I hit with it set up at -1, N. It got up early and kept its flight constant through the wind. Being that it’s lower in spin, it managed to keep the high flight but pierce through the wind quite well. I’ve got it with the stock Denali Charcoal 70 gram and I like it. I might flip the two weights to see how it might bring flight down a hair. I’ll just need to adjust to seeing it fly a notch higher than most fairway woods I’ve hit before. It’s a good thing though.

I just hit my 5 wood for the first time. Horrible day to hit outside, super windy and cold. Initial tinkering. the heavy weight in the back seemed a little low launch high spin. I ended up lofting up to 19 and putting the heavy weight forward. Strike was a little inconsistent and I remembered the Callaway stock 5 wood length is almost an inch longer than my Titleist GT3 5 wood. 42.75" vs 42". I knew this was the case when ordering. Lofting down to 17* and it's a much flatter flight and bit more erratic for me. Love the look and sound/feel. Tough to gauge flight hitting into a constant 25 mph headwind, but so far I love the adjustability.

Just for comparisons sake how far do you hit your normal 5 wood?  How far for your normal 3 wood?

I’d say this is right in between. I hit a 5 wood about 235-240 and a 3 wood carries around 255-260. Keep in mind I hit into the wind on hole 7 but it was a solid total yardage. I also hit it on hole 5 and it was a crosswind that took it right. Still had around 250 total but it got knocked offline. I’ll know when I get it on a monitor to compare. It’s hot though.

Got a very few reps with my 15* on Quad yesterday. I swapped the 6-10 weights for 2-14 with 2 in front and was pleasantly surprised to see playable launch, spin, and peak height.

Had heard that the E Ti FW is a fire breather in the ball speed department, and it didn't disappoint. Ball speeds at very least on par with what I see from my 13.5* Smoke Mini.

Good to see the 5w is actually adjustable. On the comparison between models in only said the 3 and 3hl were.

I have a 17° UW that I have started hooking like crazy and have been wanting to replace. Anyone who has the 5w can you compare to any past experiences with the uw? I know this will be longer in shaft length. Probably a bit higher flight too I would think. I’m contemplating an 18 turned down to 17 and maybe 1/2” short of standard.

I changed the weights before I hit it based on what I'd seen from 15* TD and standard heads.

Similar speed and distance, but it was tough to get either to peak much above 80 feet. Saw similar launch, spin, peak height and descent to the Ti in an Elyte 3HL, but the Ti is substantially faster.

I was able to hit my 5 wood on quad and outside today. I fussed around with almost every setting and landed back on heavy weight back at 18*. This thing is hot, I was getting 154 ballspeed which was only a couple mph less than my mini driver.

It is a bit erratic for me though, and I think it may be the shaft and shaft length. I actually have a triple diamond 7 wood on the way, so if that works out, I may trade the 5 wood for a 3HL.

This looks really good. The specs page is up on the web site -- what else do you want to know?

If a 15 handicapper like myself can get this thing off the turf.  I don’t hit 3 wood off the tee and instead just use it when I need the longest shot possible (after a crap drive, long par 5s, etc).  But, if it’s more geared towards better players and\or is harder to launch from the fairway than the Elyte x, it’s not for me

Can anybody tell me what the weight configuration is? Is it a 10g and a 6g weight?

I ordered the 3HL at 42.5” (-0.75”) because I think a 43.25” FW is excessively long and I tend to struggle with clubs off the ground over 43”.

I am going to slot this behind my mini driver. I will likely loft up to 17.5 or even 18.5 to close the face slightly. Should gap well between my mini driver and 20° hybrid.

Is the face on this significantly deeper than the standard Callaway woods?

I play Callaway woods basically exclusively because of how shallow their faces are, I love them. Wondering if this will work for me.

Considering a 3 wood as a driver alternative of sorts

It is in-between the standard and triple diamond for face height.

I think it looks closer to the triple diamond and has scoring lines across the face.

2 rounds in so honeymoon, but I love it.  I hit it a little higher than the std Elyte, but with a little less spin.  I’m going to take it down to 42.25” and I think it will be the ultimate 240 fairway finder, 15 degree for reference.  Also, sound and feel is as good as any FW I have hit.

Anyone with a 5 wood care to share a picture of the front to get an idea about face depth, even better if you can do it compared to what is considered at least a shallow/shallower face 5 wood.

Here you go!
