Isn't the #1 reason hollow irons are hollow, is to allow the face to deflect, for more distance? And the cobras do not have a face that deflects.

Is it? I genuinely don’t know the answer to that. One possibility is that if the iron is hollow it frees up a lot of weight that can be placed elsewhere. 
 

I have both other hollow body iron sets and the King Tour here, my experience is they play closer to the KT until I get to the 7-6-5 irons. Despite the stronger lofts In the 3DP they fly higher and when I miss low toe it doesn’t seem to matter much.

the 500-750 rpms of spin at same loft, lie, etc etc is a challenge for me

I figured it was to move weight into more favorable spots primarily 🤷‍♂️

The shaft might be good for your king tours but moving to higher spin shaft might improve things if you want to stick with the 3DP's.

sorry man, the KTs are probably the best irons I’ve ever played in regards to consistency, distance control, gapping and not that unforgiving. You’re gonna have a near impossible time matching that performance.

Weaken the lofts. Do you launch the 3DP higher or lower than your King Tours?

both sets are 2* weak more or less, so that's not it 

launch is slightly higher on 3DP as expected

I've been playing these. Came from a set of ZX5/7's. Have also gamed the recent King Tour's. I miss on the heel a lot. 

I only have a 5-P set. TBH i think a 3dp 4i would/should replace my 4 ZX Driving iron..., but its cost prohibitive given how much i dont use that club 🙂

I've always felt that with my swing some irons   just find  harmony with  different shafts.  I'm really happy with the KBS $-Tapers in my LIMIT3D's with the GP Mid MCC +4's.   
 

On my older sets:  I like the Modus 120's in my ZX 5/7's; the KBS Tour 120's in my CB 57's;  the TT S300 Sensicores in my MP-33's;  and the KBS Tour 120's in my MP-64's.

Funny I hated my 3DPs at first with MMTs. Pulled my Modus 105s from my old set and put them in the 3DPs and now I'm in love. But I've always spun it pretty well & play it straight to baby fade. I could see them being too low spin for someone who hits a draw but doesn't have a ton of speed. 
 

Pro V1x is the obvious cheat code for people in that boat but the poster doesn't want ball suggestions 🤷‍♂️

and the ball doesn't move the needle enough either 

oh well - wait for them to fix or just look to refresh of King Tour

Can they make the KT any better?  Cobra has been out on this branch of 3D printing irons, are they even concentrating on their core stuff besides all of the SGI garbage?  I sure hope so...

I’d be okay with only some trail edge relief on the KTs. But like I said elsewhere ill just have to tolerate their tour performance and game improvement forgiveness.

... OK, here is a slightly different perspective. I really like my 3DPT's and they perform well for my swing. For me, the difference in spin with my KT's and 3DPT's is marginal and I have no issue holding hard, fast desert greens. They really are silly forgiving on my bad swing days. Several back surgeries from being hit from behind as a college QB means some days I am a little stiff and have a hard time staying down through impact, and on those days I really appreciate the added forgiveness of the 3DPT's because I tend to miss low and toward the toe. But most of the time I just don't miss badly enough to reap the forgiveness difference between these two irons. If I were forced to go back to my KT's I wouldn't miss a beat. 

...  To my eye Cobra irons since the OG Amp Forged have the best shape and size of any irons ever. I played every version after that with the Fly Z+, Forged Tours, MIM and King Tours. I should probably still be playing the MIM's which perform virtually identical to my KT's for me but have the softest feel of any Iron I have played, including many solid forged MB's back in the day. Your lack of spin seems to be a serious issue for you and there are many worse problems in life than having to play King Tours. 🙃

Haven’t seen if you’ve already mentioned this, but what is your peak height? I’m a low spin player and they work for me because of the crazy amount of tungsten low in the head. My spin with these is high 4000’s but my descent angle bottoms at 44 and is normally around 47 and up.
