I have never previously considered a Cobra iron (had a driver for a short period - wrong shaft).

 

These have my full and (mostly) undivided attention!  This technology and its ability to allow redistribution of weight is intriguing.  Anxious to demo.

I know you mentioned S but I went from $Taper 130’s to MMT 125TX and won’t be going back to steel. The MMT has a similar ball flight to the the X100 but the overall feel and vibration is just so much better. I’m having my 4i built out with an Axiom right now so I’ll see how that goes. If (let’s face it, when) I order a set of 3DPs it’ll be with either the MMT or Axiom

I’m waiting to hit a set first but that will be real soon from what my Fitter said. I’ll probably have an order in shortly. I still haven’t found anything that has removed my 2016 King Forged Tours from the bag for more than a couple rounds just to be sold for the cobras to regain their bag stay. I have probably bought, bagged  and sold 8 sets of irons since I bought the 2016 King Forged Tours and none of them lasted. Wish the offset wasn’t so high on that 4 iron though

Me too. I've played Srixons since the Z765s... Had the ZX7s and the Mkii... I tried the T100s and the i210s and went back to Srixon almost immediately. Fingers crossed on these.

They said they would have theirs in a week or two so hopefully sooner than later! I appreciate the offer I’ll take ya up on it if they take longer! I’m looking at buying either these or a set of Zxi7s soon

I got to hit these today and man are they sweet. I had a fitting at Cobra HQ in Carlsbad. 
 

I have recently figured out that my best shaft is kind of boring - DG S300, full weight. To spice it up a little I actually play DG TI X100 ssx2. I get the dispersion reduction from the stiff tip, but a little more feel with the extra head weight on each respective shaft. 
 

I tested with S300 today. I’m about a 9 hdcp, 90 mph 7i but I’m low launch and low spin. 
 

First started with King Tour and it felt good. Numbers were good. 
 

Next up was King CB and it felt even better. Numbers were a little better- higher launch, more spin, higher peak height, and better descent angle. 
 

Next up was the Limit3D and it gave great numbers. Definitely felt more tech-y, but still very good. I gained about 7 yards carry, gained 10 ft of peak height and got to 45 decent angle. That was all due to about 4mph better ball speed and a tick lower spin (126mph, 5800rpm). But keep in mind that loft was 31* which is lower than CB. 
 

Then just for the heck of it we tried the 3DP Tour. Holy ****!  I found the feel to be incredible. Some will definitely say it’s tech-y feeling, but it honestly was almost like the ball wasnt even there. That was with a ProV1X. Numbers were pretty similar to the Limit3D but 3DP felt so much better to me. The specs will be x100 ssx2, 1 degree upright, 2 degrees weak on 5-7 and 1 degree weak on 8-P. 
 

Now I just need to sell the rest of my storage closet to fund them!

Explain what you mean by techy feeling. I am trying to resolve that with the idea that it felt like the ball wasn’t even there?

 

I just don’t have a context for a feel that’s ‘techy’. 
 

I really enjoy my CB/MB and the KT’s, so I’m trying to get a sense for how these compare.

That’s what I thought too?  I’d be disappointed if the cheaper retail version out performed the LE  version if I was an early adopter.

I did see someone say that. I’m not exactly trying to argue against that. All I can say is that the two felt markedly different to me. And I liked 3DP better.

Fair question. By techy, the best I can articulate is that it seemed I could feel the face flex almost. Not sure if that’s reality, but that’s my interpretation. Kind of like a ‘21 Apex Pro or i230.  But in no way clicky. Sound  was great. It was a unique combination of powerful but soft. 
 

CB felt soft out of the middle and just a tad firmer out of the toe.

 

3DP has consistent feeling across the face.
 

KT also felt like it had a bit of face flex, but 3DP had better launch, speed, and spin with my toe miss. And softer. 
 

I hope I am making sense and helping with some context.

I had 3 indoor of the mat range sessions with my Black King Tour/CB. These are absolutely fantastic. Have you hit yours outdoors? What is the turf interaction like? 
Never tried the ZX7 like few above. Last year had the T150. I do have a tendency of a little steep. Definitely not a sweeper

I wonder if the feel in the Tour and 3DP can be attributed to construction style (metal layered upon metal v.  Forged), the fact that it is stainless steel and the amount of tungsten in the head.

I actually have both a set of KT’s and a flow set of CB/MB, both with MMT 105’s. Both have a fantastic feel. I find the KT’s a little more forgiving, but when I’m swinging well, the flow set is hard to beat. I’ve played the outdoors often and fine the turf interaction to be superb. As would be expected, hitting the MB just a little fat definitely alters contact and ball flight. The KT’s are clearly a bit more forgiving there with the slightly wider sole, but still go through the turf very efficiently after striking the ball.

 

All of them are fantastic clubs. One of these days I’ll put my 3-5 KT’s, 6-8 CB’s and 9-G MB’s in the bag and see how they work for me as an ultra-flow set.
