Best epoxy from Golfworks

What is the best epoxy from Golfworks you can buy in the push cartridge? I bought the smallest 2 bottle set of the regular "shafting epoxy" last time and was left with half of it left before realizing it's now expired.

 

I occasionally see problems people have had with the Tour Set epoxy in the past but maybe those problems have been fixed?

 

Also, do they still come with a plunger included? Doesn't show one on the pictures and some of the listings show that their epoxy gun/plungers sold separately are needed for proper application.

I use the Tour Set, and never had a problem.

I have also used their regular 24 hour epoxy.

The plunger comes with all the tubes, except maybe the 2:1 stuff. 
How old is the stuff you have now? Have to tried mixing a little and see if it hardens?

From my experience, 5 years from now, your "expired" epoxy will still work just fine.

The VB1001 is hands down the best from them.  The plunger is sold separately (VB1005).  I personally wouldn't go near the Tour Set stuff.

VB1032 is the Hi-Impact 30ml w/plunger. Good stuff.

I mainly use the tour set stuff and never had any issues with it.  I won't use the quick set stuff for clubs, unless it's for extensions.  The high impact stuff and 24 hour stuff has worked fine for me in the past as well.

It's close to 5 years old and the black material in the A tube had mostly separated from the clear stuff. I mixed it back up as well as I could with a popsicle stick.

 

I did try sticking a couple pieces of scrap metal together and the excess is still gummy and sticky a week later. Might have been too much epoxy or the mix was off though perhaps?

 

I'll try mixing some and spread it out thinly over some tape.

Gummy and sticky after a week is not good.

It really depends on what the epoxy base material is.  Some have really long shelf lives.  Some short.  At this point, toss it out and buy something new and stop guessing.

I have used the tour set for years with no issues. It does not come with a plunger. I bought one off Amazon and it works fine. You just need to make sure it is a 2:1 ratio type.

FWIW-  I have used the two part bottles in various sizes for 25 years.   I have some now that is probably four to five years old and still good.    I prefer the 24 hour for ease of use and dependability.

Just get the 3M epoxy instead

VB1001 is fantastic if allowed the proper cure time or cured with some heat.  It is applicable to all builds.

VB1003 is also a high quality fast set which I have had customer use within 12 hours and never had a failure.  This sets faster so you are not building an iron set with 1003 only single clubs.

 

 

I would not recommend any of their other epoxies.

Just gets too expensive and sometimes not easy to get.  I guess it's all relative, but if you use a lot of it, it adds up.

My favorite is DP8410NS acrylic adhesive.  $23 from Amazon.  Or, DP810, which doesn't smell as much, but is more expensive.  This is what Ping uses.

 

There are some long threads on these products.  The 8410 needs a gun with 10:1 plunger.  3M's gun is expensive.  There are cheaper aftermarket guns available, though.  Again, discussed in older threads.
