Left Dot

Go to eBay and look for left dots - 150 to even $200 per dozen.  If all you need is to be fit into it, slip the pro some cash and get as many as you can, and sell them on eBay.  Can anybody named these wonderful places over the rainbow where a pro can fit you into left dot, and you can get it for $55 per dozen?

For those not living over the rainbow, it would seem the ball is largely unavailable to greater than 99% of us and seems nobody wants to acknowledge the website is a tease. Again, I’m not employee for Titleist or any other companies.

Have you checked with pro shops in the area to see if they can do a ball fitting or reached out to your local Titliest rep?

I know for sure the Titliest rep can do a ball fitting, and they will provide the fitting to anyone that chooses to schedule time with them.

If reps were fitting left dots at ball fittings, they would not cost $150-$200 for a dozen on eBay. Is this just an advertisement for Titleist ball fitting?

It’s an option at the fitting.  Most people don’t fit into it, so you are correct they don’t fit a lot of people onto because, it’s not a fit for a lot of people…..

I thought it would be fit into it.

In my fitting it spun a little lower and apexed about 105- 110 on my iron shots.  I actually ended up with better dispersion and peak height (115-120) with the v1x.  V1x was also better with long irons.

it was a little better for me than the prov1, just because I got a touch more ball speed with driver.

I will say the fitter doesn’t let you override them on ball choice to get the left dot 🙂

You can’t.

I cannot disagree more than most people do not fit into this. It is basically a better version of avx - lower spinning and lower trajectory with prov1 cover.  I have been fit into AVX and now that Titleist has downgraded the cover, suspect I would personally fall into prov1 left Dot as an average length hitter with a too high a trajectory that is happy to give up some spin.

“Get a fitting.”  Give me a break.  Name one spot in the country where a fitter has this ball. And please do not reply with another advertisement to get a Titleist ball fitting.  I am all ears if anyone can name a single city or fitter or location that definitely has this ball.

https://www.titleist.com/ball-fitting-partner-locator

you will probably need to verify the fitting location has the ability to do the “tour” or “cpo” ball fitting.

i would still suggest reaching out to your local Titliest rep.  They are likely going to get you set up the quickiest

Is the gif telling me to contact my local titlest rep for a ball fitting?

To be clear, folks that play in the wind or that it hit too high should be fit into left dot.  Folks that like AVX but are disappointed with the cheaper cover should be fit into it too.

Maybe this post is also helping the cache/buzz around this unavailable ball....unless willing to pay 150-$200 on eBay.

I was speechless.

We - I’m trying to help here.

To my knowledge there are 2 ways to get these balls at retail cost.

option 1 is to tour Titliest ball plant 3.  If you do that you can buy a box at the end of the tour (along with other Titliest balls). The limit is 1 box per person for the cpo balls like left dot.  This is the easiest way to get at box as anyone can schedule to take a tour.  The plant is in Massachusetts.

option 2 is to do a Titliest ball fitting.  I think they call it a cpo or tour ball fitting.  These are only done by local Titliest reps ( almost every region is covered by one or more reps) or a limited number of pro shops, usually associated with high end clubs.  This easiest and most efficient way to figure out how you to get go through the fitting process and talk about you options is by reaching out to your local rep.

what we - or I can’t do is give you the name of a pro shop or person that’s going to sell you the balls at retail without going through the fitting process.

this isn’t a free advertisement for Titliest.  I’m not even recommending them or the ball to you or anyone else.  I’m answering your question on how somebody buys these balls at retail and laying out the know options.

edit I fixed left dash to left dot for accuracy.

Option 1 - I can buy left dash anytime, anyplace.  Leftdot - nope.

Option 2 - no ball fittings/fitters will give you and/or fit you into left dot.  This is pure fiction.  You cannot name a single fitter/place that does. My point is proven.  Give it a rest and stop saying you can buy these balls at retail price - doesn't happen, doesn't exist and if it did, they would not cost so much on eBay.

1.  It was an error.  I meant left dot and updated the post to reflect it.

2.  You can reach out to any Titliest sales rep in your area and they can tell you how to get fit.  They are going to be your best resource

The above are facts.  You can choose not to believe them, but that doesn’t make them untrue.

Have a good one, AG.

Acushnet Golf,

1) Yes it is definitely a fact that I can contact my local titleist rep to get fit for a titleist golf ball.  I think you've made that very clear.  I 100% agree.  It is a fact that I can contact them and they can get me fit into a prov1, v1x, left dash, avx, tour speed, velocity or trufeel.  Thank you.

2) It is also a fact that no titleist rep, anywhere, anyplace will fit me and/or get me a left dot, period.  Please do not reply again with point #1 to rebut point #2 - it's about a half a dozen consecutive posts that you've said it.

3) It is also a fact that the left dot webpage has been kept up for no reason as the ball is not available to > 99% of consumers.

4) It is also a fact that since these balls are so hard to come by, they cost $150-200 on eBay.  ProV1, V1X and left dash cost a fraction of this - via titleist, in stores or on eBay.

2.  Here’s you a location.

TPI Oceanside, CA - when you schedule your fit be specific and say you would like to have the left dot as an option.

now there you have it, a physical location you can get fit at.

This place is booked solid for real club fittings - drivers, full bags for several hundreds of bucks.  They will laugh at me if I call for just a ball fitting.  Maybe if I'm willing to pay the $350 for a fitting, plus personal airfare and hotel stay.  Cheaper to get the most expensive dozen on eBay for $200 and call it a day.

Thanks - and again, nice advertisement for titleist performance institute.

Well you asked for one place.  There it is.

if that doesn’t work for you, reach out to local Titliest rep and they can help you find a a fitting option to at works for you. 🙂

I thought we came to an agreement that I can reach out to my local rep.  I totally agree.

We also know my local rep won't get me left dot.  And frankly, if someone called the performance institute from across the country for a ball fitting (or closer by), they'd laugh you off the phone (unless famous golfer/influencer, etc).  It would also cost wayyyyyy more than just spending $200 for a dozen on eBay, and they probably still won't get you left dot.  Bluff called.

You wanted options.  You now have 3 ( ball tour, TPI, or local rep assistance for left dot fitting opportunities)

You can say those aren’t facts, but doesnt make them untrue.

edit - here’s some more folks confirming you can acquire the ball.  Feel free to post in that thread asking for assistance on how to acquire them.

Facts:

Ball tour = no left dot.  Please name one person that has gotten left dot in the last month or two from ball tour.

TPI = laugh off phone, wait several months for full club fitting for a few grand.  Please name a non-celebrity that has gotten left dot or any sort of ball fitting from TPI.

local rep = no left dot.  Name any local reps in any location that have access to left dot - none.

you're advertising for titleist.

Facts.

Thanks.

Titleist staffers can still order some. If you get a job as a staffer, you can get all the Left Dots your heart desires. But I have a sneaking suspicion Left Dot is really just AVX. Left Dash is the real deal. Dot might not...

Nope - the guys are lamenting on the post how they can't get left dot.  Nice try.  The post actually reinforces what I'm saying.

Wrong again.

alteast two posters acquired the ball at retail, one confirms the fitting process.

another confirms it’s hard to get but you can get it through the 3 options I listed above.

Maybe I was reading a different post - the post I read has several users lamenting how you can't get it.  One mentions that you can get it at the ball plant but then later says it's tough to get.

I certainly think it's reasonable if you're a staffer, etc. that you can get it.

But I still stand by my original point - it's brutal to get for > 99% of consumers and costs a fortune on eBay because it's so hard to get.  It is silly the webpage is up and should only go up when it's available retail like every other ball.

Let me also say that I know I can contact my local titleist rep for a ball fitting.  Let me also say that ball fitting will not include left dot.

Nobody claimed it was the easiest process to get fit for the ball and get them at retail, but you have to start somewhere.  And implying somebody is lying to you when you don’t “think” what they saying is true isn’t a good way to get other people who may have a source to help you….

How do you know the bolden part?  have you reached out to you rep to ask?  If they don’t offer it, did you ask if they could help you find a place (like a high end course/pro shop that does?)

Can you name a single pro shop or golf course that currently sells left dot?

I can get em on eBay for 3-4x the price of prov1, v1x, or left dash since they're not really available but are still advertised as a tease.  Yes, with AVX getting a lousier cover, they are even more in demand for a lot of folk that want a low spin low trajectory ball.
