Really not seeing any reason to buy these over Maltby considering the TS3 and CX2 are essentially the same club as described by Britt from Maltby and they’ll be building them as well. Sure you can go test them at Dicks and Golf Galaxy, but the upcharge compared to Maltby isn’t worth it.

At least you know the YouTube reviews will come pouring in and, in my eyes, that will just be validating for Maltby. The TS3s are the best out there right now.

Other than price, the TS3s to me (all the Maltby's) are not good looking clubs. They're not ugly, but not good looking either. These Maxfli's look real good though. Just a cleaner look to them. But at $1,000.00 seems kind of steep. TS3s are $390 with the same config, get some shaft pulls from Ebay and you're OTD for $550 or so

Hopefully these won't be $200 per stick like all the rest. Definitely giving the golf balls a try

I think it was said they’d be $999 for 4-PW

I guess that isn't too bad. I rented the Maxfli A-10 Tour irons back in 1998 on a trip where I decided to get out and loved them

Got to hit the demos today at golf Galaxy.  Very impressive.  They look great, they feel great and they put out some pretty good numbers.  Employees told me they will be available with custom builds.  They said they thought $900 but I think it was posted here that was 999.  Still a pretty good price. I really enjoyed hitting them.

I hit the demo 5 iron, 7 iron and 9 iron. They look great, feel great and perform really well for what they are. Lofts are obviously on the stronger side and spin was pretty low because of that. A lot of roll out on the Trackman. But the key take away for me was that they felt really good and showed a lot of forgiveness on mishits.

Also, I measured the demo 7 iron on the swing weight machine and it was at D5. The website says they’re gonna be D2. I like to play my irons at D4 so it didn’t bother me but if someone with a slower swing speed or someone used to lighter swing weight went in and tried that club at D5, they probably would have hated it. Not gonna sell golf clubs if the demo is at D5 and people can’t hit them

I had these in today and I’m still stupidly impressed. They look fantastic.  I think they look better than the TS3. They had several shaft options for demos. Some upright lofts, flat lofts, had some recoil darts, MMT 60   They feel freaking fantastic. Honestly, I think these look better than my P790 2021.  Hardly any offset strong loss like everybody wants that would be looking at these irons. I wonder how the finish holds up, but they look beautiful.

if I can get the right graphite shaft options, and these babies go on sale. These will be mine.

Both sets of irons are available on GG now, wish you could purchase the heads separately though. A bit surprised on the up charge on many of the shafts, it bumps up the price similar to the big brands.

I would buy the heads all by themselves for sure

I was in Dicks for some balls and after chatting with the salesman he showed these to me. They look great!

I struggle with offset but hit both. They both feel really nice. Ihe XC3 felt a bit firmer on contact but the XC2 is legit. I stayed mostly with the XC2. Had the TT Mid shafts in them and they really are easy to launch and found easy to keep on line. Dispersion was very nice and even though I hadn’t warmed up and was wearing Dudes, the distances were right on par, loft for loft with my own irons.

a pleasant surprise for sure.

I am normally not a light weight graphite shaft fan but all they had was the Darts and Recoil MMT 90 in store and hit some rockets.   I swear the XC2/XC3 are the best feeling irons I’ve hit.

Also, am I missing something? Seems to be popular to say it’s the same as the TS3 from Maltby. Or “just buy Maltby.” I get it Maltby makes them.  But there isn’t a 1 for 1 comparison or even a close one, imo.

the TS3 look different.  Are fully forged.  Are lofted differently. 32° 7 iron

Xc2 are lofted at 30.5. Have ceramic inside. Have smaller sole.  Not really the same club at all.

I understand the Maltby are way less expensive but it is a different club.

You’re right. Maltby helped on the design because they were asked. Dick’s owns Golfworks and Maxfli, but Maltby did not make the calls on this design and Dick’s did — including the materials used and the look of the clubs. Maltby had zero control over the design. It is all what Maxfli wanted. Britt Lindsey at Golfworks acknowledged that.

The XC3 looks a little similar to the TS3 with the chunk of metal carved out of the back (I don’t love the look of the XC3 or the TS3 but I think the XC3 looks better as it is more refined.) But overall these do not look like Maltby irons.

With the ceramic inside, the Maxfli’s are more like the Bettinardi irons or TM P7CB than they are a TS3.

The XC2 looks great to me. That’s my favorite. The XC3 would be a candidate for a long iron spot, maybe. A kid I know at Golf Galaxy has the XC2’s in the bag and he raves about them.

Yes, because they were asked. But zero control over the final product. And Maxfli rejected some of their ideas and wanted changes. And it’s obvious Maxfli controlled it because the Maxfli irons look better than Maltby irons.
