Qi35 vs GT2 vs 440 Max

Hello All.

Irons and Wedges are set for 2025 but still looking for a Driver / 4 Wood combo.

Ive decided on these 3.  I should get fit I know and likely will but looking for early feedback.

Last year I used the Ping 10k all year.  It was ugly I hated owning it, was short but straight as a Mofo.

In the previous 4/5 years Ive used Sim TSi2 both with Tour AD

I hated Last year TM Q driver I found it unforgiving but struggled last year as well so it was likely me.

Anyone Compare these 3 Drivers?   I'm leaning towards the TM Series (I Love the Fairway wood)......

Just looking for some feedback from those who have tired these against each other.

I usually will do one paid driver fitting every year and I have hit Ai smoke, GT2, GT3, Cobra, QI10, Mizuno 230Z and decided to stay with Paradym DDD. Last week I went in for another driver fitting, hit the new Cobra, Ping 440LST, etc and the regular QI35 is by far the best for me, more consistent and better ball speed.  I ordered it immediately.

I saw that.  All 3 are bad off the heel where I miss.  The Ping looks to lose the least amount of yardage on heel hits.

Ill hit them all but Ill likely end up with Ping and have to deal with it lol

Yeah, heel miss is tough. I don’t know how the Elyte is but I know in the past the Callaway drivers were better off the heel

yes we are not robots, but the tests show how the club performs with mishits.  we are not robots and we cannot replicate what a robot can do when it comes to hitting a ball consistently.  so these charts are a great tool to see how punishing mishits are.  If any one of us human players have a tendency to mishit on the heel, these charts help us determine which drivers are more punishing compared to others.  I tend to mishit on the toe more than the heel, so I can rule out which drivers are more punishing for me.  Just like the iron tests, I'll try to find which irons are more punishing on thin shots compared to others.

I am not saying the test not helpful.  But different drivers has different lie angle, different length, the head weight different, swing weight different.  For example, I am pretty sure most people can swing the Qi35 faster than the Ping.

Using different shafts, changing face angle or shaft length will also help with the miss also.

yes, but a heel shot is a heel shot, regardless of my lie angle, shaft weight, shaft flex, swing weight, shaft length, grip weight, grip size, tee height, shoe size, pant size, and color of socks i decided to wear.

I don't believe that Rory, Scotty Scheffler or Nelly Korda are playing the new Qi35.  Kind of makes you think.

Nelly will probably be an easier switch.  The Qi10 Dot heads aren’t really similar to anything in the current lineup, so it’s a more in depth process to try and get something new in there.  They are two of the three best ballstrikers on the planet right now and there’s no incentive to disrupt their game.  The Qi35s are excellent, in my opinion.

i had success with GT2 and have tried the Ping 440, both seem to perform the same in my hands.  The spin and distance and forgiveness and control are very similar but they do sound and feel very different.  Last TM driver i have gamed is the Stealth, a excellent driver as well but my experience with TM is that they get worse the more i use them.  Wheni first pick up a TM driver, there is a bit of a honeymoon period but as i game it more, it actually performs worse.  This is obviously not the drivers fault at all but for me, it is all too real

I still play a Sim2 Max 9 degree stiff, which I love for its straightness, but I’ve been dealing with too much spin and losing yardage.  I’ve tested the GT2 and did not fall in love.  Today I hit an absolute bomb with my Sim2 on 18 into a gentle headwind and my ball just ballooned up and fell like a skydiver whose chute didn’t open.  Fed up I went back to our pro shop grabbed the GT2 again, as well as a new Qi35 LS demo, both 9 degree stiff.  Still didn’t like the GT2 but man did I fall in love with the Qi35 LS.  Hands down the best driver I’ve ever felt, from set up, to the shaft, to the feel off the club face.  Ball flight was absolutely perfect for me and it was crazy straight.  Going to play a round with it tomorrow to confirm it wasn’t range euphoria before I spend $600+ on a single club, but so far I’m beyond impressed.

Get fit for sure.  I can tell you so far this year nothing is proving to be better for ME than the 440 Max.  I have been gaming a GT 2 with success but the 440 Max has taken it's place in the starting line up.  I am still gaming my GT 4 wood and don't think I will tempt myself to try the QI35 or Ping 440 4 wood.   I am sure they are great but for a club I don't use more than 3 or 4 times a round I don't want to stray from my trusty GT2

Got to play our back nine today with a Qi35 LS.  There are five driver holes on our back nine, unless you can carry the ball 290+ in the air, then there are seven.  For me, five.  I was not swinging great, but I still hit all five fairways almost dead center and the ball went what I would estimate was 5-10 yards longer than my Sim2 Max with a similar swing.  When I was done, I took both to the range and spent about 30 minutes going back to back with them and I came to an interesting conclusion.

While the LS Qi35 is the least forgiving of the Qi35 range, I still felt like it was actually more forgiving than the Sim2 Max.  The only way I truly got an awful result out of the Qi35 LS was when I put a truly awful swing on it and snap hooked it, but even then it was a baby snap hook rather than a hope I didn’t hit a car in the parking lot snap hook.  The interesting this is that I never ever got a block/flare miss on the Qi35, whereas once in a while if I over-swing I get that on my Sim2 Max.

But when I was all done I decided not to buy it.  In the end, I felt that, on a good swing it wasn’t much if any better than my Sim2 Max, and I’m not sure why, but I prefer the explosive feel of the Sim2 Max and the higher ball flight.  On the best shots, I think my Sim2 may actually be slightly longer.  I tend to hit a lot of fairways anyway, so forgiveness isn’t my biggest need, so I decided to stick with what I’ve got.  But I imagine for a high swing speed scratch+ golfer, the Qi35 LS may be a great choice.
