Best Golf Shorts

Everyone wears shorts. I wear shorts as long as it's in the low 60's. I don't mind pants, but pants season is way too short to invest much in them unless I can also wear them to work.

Only reason I have golf pants is for the office and even then not always a huge fan, either super long in the leg and have to get hemmed then sometimes the hem is too short so I look like I'm waiting for a flood.

They're not moving away from them.    They outsell the Performance Links almost 10 to 1.    They've been restyled and are waiting on all the shipments to come in.

 

Bringing this back. It looks like they've replaced them with something called "Course Legend Shorts". Are these what you were talking about? Because they look like completely different shorts. Both style and material. It's a real shame because the Highland Tour were amazing but this appears to be more than just restyling.

 

Course Legend = 44% Polyester | 44% Recycled Polyester | 12% Spandex

Highland Tour = 96% Polyester | 4% Elastane

Man i might have to try these out. How is the fit on them? I’m right on the border of waist sizes, do they fit pretty snug or loose in general?

I went with a size 32 which 32/33 is my usual size depending on the brand.  I tried on the 34 and they were too loose, especially given the flexible waistband

Has anyone tried the Lululemon golf shorts? Not the standard ABC / commission, but the actual “golf” ones. I think the material is different than normal warpstreme?

As a skinny leg guy, haven’t found anything that really compares to the Greyson Montauk, 10” inseam is perfect also.

Just got a couple pairs of Swannies Fairway Shorts.  Might be my new favorite!  Extremely light and stretchy and it has the silicone waist band to keep the shirt tucked in.

UA Iso-Chill and Drive suit me just fine when I wear shorts for my 36" waist.

I like the inner rubber on waistband which keeps polo tucked in.

 

I wear UA lightweight, mediumweight and heavyweight slacks too depending on season.

My new favorites are the Vineyard Vines Performance On-The-Go shorts, 9" length. VV has had some good sales lately making these shorts a bargain. I also like the Linksoul Boardwalker shorts but they may have departed from their original fabric.

I love my Lululemon Classic-Fit 7" shorts. Warpstreme and WovenAir are both great. They're essentially the same. WovenAir is a little lighter. If you like longer shorts, 9" are great too. Sometimes I wish I got the 9" because I like hiking my pants so high that the 7" look like 5" sometimes 😭🤣

 

Oh, and I have 4 of them:

- Khaki

- Green

- Blue

- Gray

 

All size 34, true-to-size.

Looks to me like the same material as the Warpstreme, but the pockets are different and they also have a white color short.

 

They apparently are not Warpstreme, from what I understand. I don't like Warpstreme at all for golf shorts (way too thick / hot, IMO). The material makeup is different, see below from their site. 

 

ABC Classic-Fit Golf Short materials: 

Body: 95% Nylon, 5% Elastane

Pockets: 100% Recycled Polyester

 

ABC Classic-Fit Short Warpstreme materials:

Body: 54% Recycled Polyester, 46% Elastomultiester

Pockets: 100% Recycled Polyester

Oh! I was looking for that! Man those do look a lot better suited for golfing.

 

Depending on your sizing, I feel like the Warpstreme’s can still be breezy since they’re a “classic” fit. But nylon will for sure keep you cooler out there!

Ordered a pair to answer my own question.

 

These are amazing. 100x better than Warpstreme material. Highly recommend for anyone on the fence.

If you play a lot of mid tier public courses like I do and can get away with not tucking your shirt in. Walmart sells some athletic shorts with stitching in the crotch that make it look like there is a zipper there and are indistinguishable from actual golf shorts unless someone gets to close for comfort. They also have a back pocket. I wear them every time unless I’m playing a private club.
