Best Golf Shorts

I struggled to find a pair I like until I gave in to the Peter Salem short. I like that it is a more traditional material

Finally got the redvanly in. They are very soft, feel great. But I just dont find them to be a golf short. But more of a hang out, casual wear type. I'll give it a try but it feels like a work out short.

I purchased a pair last year and agree 100%. I wore them to hit range balls but didn't love them for golf. Also stretched out and didn't look great after some washes.

Im not mad at it. I can for sure use these for my Disney trips.

I would cast another vote for Bonobos as well. 
 

Hold up really well, are comfortable and are one of the few companies who offer different fits (standard / slim / atheltic). 

 

They also often go on sale.

I agree with this, haven't tried all the brands ram said, but I am a big fan of Adidas shorts and are usually on sale somewhere.

I really like PM, H&B and Lulu. Lulu does have a short that’s great and breathable for summers in the south. 
 

I’ll also throw an additional name in the ring that aren’t cheap but are great is Sid Mashburn

When it comes to golf shorts, over the years I've picked up a few different brands, Adidas, Ben Hogan and FootJoy.

Adidas 365 are way too thin, IMO. Almost see through.

100% I can totally see my boxer briefs through them. I have the same problem with some of my Wilson tennis shorts.

I find with lighter colour shorts that are a bit thicker in material, I'd say the PM Salem shorts are the best for that but they are thicker and not as stretchy for hot days. I did find some Johnnie-O Mulligan shorts that are a bit thicker but stretchy so will see how these work out. The Donald Ross Walker II are good as well but expensive.

 

Anything like Khaki, Stone, British Grey, Light Grey, White, etc definitely need to see in person, try on or hopefully can return/exchange. Anything dark I don't mind if thin cause not as see through and easy to match boxers.

Honestly?  Who wears shorts playing golf?  Today's pant offerings are just as 'cool' and look so much better.  Nobody wants to see your legs, fellas. 

 

/tongue in cheek, but my legs are half too white, chicken leg looking that I only wear pants.......  hehe

 

I'll sport my Jonnie-O 'momentum' or Redvanly 'Kent' or Puma 101 or even my TM 'open to close' any day over your fancy shorts.

living in South Texas, during the summer it's 100% humidity at 7am and "feels like" 91* at first tee. no way i'm wearing pants. lucky enough for me to wear a golf polo or might just throw on a dri-fit t-shirt. pants are used when it's below 55*.

I'm in southern MN.  I know what humidity is.  The mosquito is our state bird.

Shorts and a 1/4 zip is undoubtedly the best golf outfit pairing of all time

Not sure if I already posted in here or if I’m thinking of the pant thread but 100% agree on UNRL, got some pants and shorts during Black Friday and will be getting more before the season. 
The shorts seem to be a slimmer cut in the same size compared to their pants (which I actually really like) but if that’s not your thing can always size up.

costco has started selling some brand called in Infintiy for $17 they feel and look a lot like adidas 365. That’s what I’ll be wearing this year.

they are pretty slim. I got the montauk 8 in and they feel perfect. The redvanley doesn’t feel like a golf short. More like a gym short. The bonobos felt good but these are just better.

look like a traditional golf short, but feel like gym shorts. Unreal combo. Not putting them in the dryer is the key to keeping them look crisp and holding their shape. 
 

however, I worry about the durability. I hang dry mine only. Got through 1 season with no issues **knock on wood**. I reached out on customer service with a run I got on their pants and they were great and replaced them. 
 

if these fails, I’d go lulu. That was my runner up when i rebooted the rotation last year

The Adidas365’s that came out last year are great. The previous couple versions were not as good.
