Looks Like Im going to do new ZX7 and Forged Combo set for the coming year

 

I can't hit a 4 iron any more - struggling with height on long irons.   

i demoed the srixon last year and loved the utility but never bought it.  The 2 and 3 were too low launching but I think the 4 might be a winner.

 

Anyone demo it yet? Any on course reviews.

i just ordered a 4 with DG Mid 115 to match irons. Ill report when I get it.

I haven't seen or hit it yet but I can't hit a 4 iron anymore either or possibly a 5 iron at this point lol.

Super solid.  If you've liked the feel of Srixon driving irons in the past you'll like this.

 

Looks: I'm getting a lot of ZU85 vibes from address.  Much more pronounced muscle on the back but hides it well.  Very iron-y face, really just looks like a thiccc iron.

 

Performance: I have the 18*.  Its going the normal distance I would expect and in comparison to other DIs I've been hitting.  I haven't deep dived into too many other stats just yet.

 

I ordered mine with the Tour AD 95.  I'll have to try it outside to see how it performs.  Don't hate the feel, don't love it.  I do have other shafts I can try.

The Di 95 seems kind of noodly. I have it in the last version, and my zx5 4 iron with a steel shaft goes almost the same distance. It looks cool, but pretty inconsistent flight patterns. 
 

in this new one, I ordered an x100 like all the other irons, to hopefully keep the gapping more useful. It

I Did steel as well to match my irons.

I snapped the di 95 in the mk ii 2 iron, I will be going 2 and 4 utilty with my project x 6.5s

tested today - not the best first impression.  Didn't find it much more forgiving than the Stock ZXI7 4 iron.

More testing tomorrow.

I find driving irons work fine off tees but are harder to hit off turf vs a standard iron that has a more forgiving design. From address, utilities look clunky to me. I have found several 4 irons that are very easy to hit — Srixon Zxi5, TaylorMade p770, Titleist T200, Ping i530 and the Callaway DCB and standard Elyte.

I agree.  Off the tee they are great.  Off Turf I struggle.  I'm going to give the Srixon a try though as the irons are incredible.

OG ZX guy here. Put a ZXiU 4 iron into the same Nippon GOST and it’s really good so far 8 rounds in. Much tighter dispersion and seems to be a hair more forgiving. Going to do the same with my 2iron now for summer links prep.

I’ve purchased the 4s in Zu65, ZU85, ZXU, and ZXU MK II. Different shafts in each. Restarted 2 of them. Never really got along with them. Would hit it great one time and then keep it in the bag in hopes of repeating it. Never seemed to.

 

Ive ordered a ZXi4 4 iron with a steel shaft to match my ZX5/ZX7 MKII’s. Hopefully I like it better than the utility irons I have.

Bringing this post back from the dead...anyone still gaming this? How's the v-sole working through the turf? That's it's biggest selling point to me vs all the other utility/driving irons out there

Feel is great, fly much higher off the tee for me anyway. Stock mmt in stiff. Send me a message if interested in 2 and or 3.
