I just finished shoveling the driveway after another bout of snow.  I might forgo the plane ride and just start driving now!

The worst part of this trip is having to come back to below freezing weather, and waiting another month before I can get on the course.  But it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for you all  😂

Looking forward to hearing about this trip.  I changed to Wilson irons and wedges in the past few years. I love them. Curious about the new drivers and if they have a new premium putter line-up in the works.

Busy day getting everything taken care of ahead of Monday. Definitely feeling the buzz of excitement. Between errands and chores I’ve been trying to watch the reviews on the new lineup. And vlogs of Karoo. The course looks phenomenal.
 

Really hoping the weather cooperates as much as possible. a little rain will be fine. And it’s currently barely above zero here. So even cooler FL temps will feel nice haha.

I'll be headed out here in a bit for the couple hour drive to the airport.

It still feels surreal, but it's definitely starting to feel more real!   According to the pretty picture Wilson had on their insta stories, they are already on site at Cabot waiting for us.

Wish safe travels for the boys.   Hopefully we can have a few updates here this evening.

Flight delayed 40min, but in poor man’s first class and ready to go! Can’t wait for these guys to experience what is ahead!!! Going to be an awesome couple of days!

My leg has been delayed out of OKC by 15 min, 27 min turnaround at ATL…. Might get some cardio in today!

MUHAHAHAHA my plan to delay flights and sub myself in seems to be working. Kidding, of course!

Quite the adventurous start to the trip for me but Lindsey at Wilson Golf couldn't have been more helpful.  The original plan was for me to have a 50 minute layover in ATL where @Red4282 and I could get acquainted on our 3:15 PM flight to Tampa. After not one, not two, not three, but four delays I had a choice:

 

1) Take my original flight to ATL, which at the time was on it's third delay and now scheduled to land at 3:30 PM. From there I would get on the next flight to Tampa at 4:20 PM landing at 5:45 PM. @ColdOkieGolf and @radiman would have to wait about half an hour for me to tag along on their transport to Cabot Citrus Farms. From TPA to Cabot Citrus Farms is roughly a 1 hour 15 minute drive making us fashionably late for dinner.

 

2) A direct flight to Orlando had been delayed. This left me about 40 minutes to change my flight, let Wilson Golf know, and board the direct flight to MCO landing at 2:53 PM. From there I would Uber/rent a car and make the 2 hour 8 minute drive to Cabot Citrus Farms.

 

I chose option 2 because it eliminated the chance I would get stuck in ATL overnight.  I felt that if I could just get to FL I would be able to figure out the rest. However, the original flight to ATL with the second flight to Tampa would eliminate the need for Wilson Golf to arrange transportation for me (Albeit, at the expense of @ColdOkieGolf and @radiman). I wasn't sure I had made the right call and even debated changing back to keep transportation logistics simple. Luckily I didn't - my original connecting flight to ATL was delayed once again and ended up landing at 4:11 p.m. Had I chosen option 1 I would have missed the second flight from ATL into Tampa. 

 

I touched down in MCO at 3:24 PM, got my clubs from baggage claim, and was greeted by my driver Wilson Golf had arranged for me while in flight. I spent the first ten minutes sprawled out in the back of this Cadillac SUV trying to change into shorts (It's a lot hotter than the forecast called for) and now am enjoying a pleasant drive while browsing GolfWRX on my laptop. 

 

What a day.

Starting off like all the greatest adventures, with transportation headaches. Almost worthy of Tolkien or Jordan fare!
