Though I realize other folks much prefer the matte.

They both look really good!  The more I look at the Wilson shape the more I’m attracted to it.  It reminds me more and more of tsi/tsr.

I always liked the older deep face "low spin bombers"   510TP,  Adams 9015..etc.    The Wilson feels/looks more like a classic driver with modern forgiveness.

Well other than my absolute crap technique with partial wedges, it went well. Irons performed and were impressive, capped by a 195 yd 7 iron into the par 5 17th, to about 5 feet and made eagle. Lookin like the ol mizzys might be in some trouble.

I have played a couple rounds with a Dynapower Carbon 9*, it is great, it just wants to go straight!!!!  I ordered my 8* and fw's about 2 weeks and they just came in so I'm excited to give them a go this weekend!!!

Going back to ZM wedges this season, just need to find a Wilson account that can custom build for me.  Re-shafting the staff cb’s and looking really hard at the Carbon driver.  Could have 10 Wilson clubs in the bag this season….

Man finally saw the drivers in person.  The Carbon is calling my name.  Just bought a QI35 but man that thing is begging for me to give it a try.  Love this thread.  You guys that were lucky enough to go on that trip might become Wilson’s most valuable marketing.

I play the Wilson ZM wedges and like them a lot. They have a unique feel at impact that is really noticeable on 30-60 yard shots. It's hard to describe the sound but a "zip" noise at impact is as close as I can come. It makes me smile every time I hear it. 

 

How are the participants liking the ZM wedges?

So far I like them a lot.  Playing off of tight lies with those fresh ZM grooves was addicting! It looked like I knew what I was doing.  

 

 I do wish there were a few more bounce/grind options. As I understand it, they completely revamped the wedges and wanted to start smaller and more simplistic.  But hopefully they can add a few more options along with a raw finish at some point.

I don't have too much more to share on the ZM wedges and here's why.

 

I currently play T-150 4-PW irons and SM10 48.10F, 54.10S, & 60.10V wedges all with KBS Tour V 110 S shafts.  Before the trip, Wilson Golf asked for our specifications to get a rough idea of what we may fit into.  Keep in mind, they don't know us. For all they know, we have never been properly fit before and what we play may not even be remotely close to what they fit us into.

 

One of the things I really appreciated, and hadn't mentioned to this point was that Ed and @Wilson_Golf made sure to have ten, KBS Tour V 110S shafts for me (4i-60°) in the event that was what they fit me into.

 

Why do I bring this up?  Well, you may recall I was surprised with a fourth wedge - the ZM 60.06.  Ed apologized right away and explained that the Tour Truck brought exactly ten KBS Tour V 110s shafts for my 4i - 60°. This meant they didn't have an extra for the ZM 60.06. Instead it came with a DG TI Spinner wedge shaft. 

 

I share this story to highlight the attention to detail @Wilson_Golf put into this event.  Again, they didn't know us. For all they knew, we have never been properly fit before and what we play may not even be remotely close to what they would fit us into.  Still, the team at Wilson made sure to bring exactly ten KBS Tour V 110S shafts in case that is what we landed on.

 

I felt like I owed it to Wilson Golf and the members on GolfWRX to spend the money and give the best comparison possible. So, I brought my ZM 60.06 to my local Club Champion and had it reshafted with a KBS Tour V 110 S shaft. I am picking it up on Tuesday. 

 

Every spring I "kick off" the golf season with a full day practicing at Pinehurst.  For $50 you get unlimited access to the range, short game area, and can play The Cradle as many times as you want.  I can't think of a better way to compare the Staff Model ZM wedges against my Vokey SM10's. When I do that, you'll be the first to know.

I struggled the other day with my partials but hit some great full shots with them. Came home and grabbed my vokeys and went back and forth with the ZM wedges. I have enough room in my back yard to hot up to 30 yard pitches. Long story short, my technique had gotten very poor over the winter, got it ironed out for the most part. I really do like the look and feel of them. Agree maybe some more bounce/grind options would be nice.

I think we hit 60° yesterday, or at least very close to it.  If this keeps up, we'll be on the course in short order.  Don't remember being this excited for a season to start in a long time.  Whole new bag of new shiny clubs to break in and get a feel for.  No word on actual course openings as we could just as easily get a blizzard as we can hit 50° next week.  

 

Will be wet and a bit sloppy out there the first month or so.  I shudder to think how substantial my divots will be with these narrow sole MB's in play haha.

Divots might not be as bad as you're expecting. They get through the turf nicely without getting crazy deep even when it's on the marshy side.

I had a great day with my ZM wedges today. I was not sharp with irons so I had lots of 20-30 yard pitch shots. I  just could not miss with them! Two good sand shots with one save. 

 

The looks feel and performance are just right. I didn't get to go to Cabot and I can play any wedges in the world and I choose Wilson ZM.

I wish that our season was upon us so I could post some more feedback on these clubs.  Just getting my weekly 9 hole indoor league rounds in the past few weeks.  

 

I ended up with a few weeks off from the gym with an injury pre-trip, the trip, and then a nasty cold.  Started back there and was quickly reminded that a 43 year old body does not recover like it used to.  So, my swing has been a lot less fluid and a lot less consistent.  I was really worried that the MB's would prove to be pretty difficult to hit when my timing and coordination are off.  I am not finding that to be the case at all.  Honestly, they're every bit as playable as the P7CB I have or the Cobra Tour CB I had previously.  Sure, you get a little extra feedback if contact is off, but the results are the same.  My miss is to lose my posture a bit, head moves away from the ball and can catch it towards the toe.  Those toe misses aren't just falling out of the sky or flying wildly offline.  I think the worst I saw has been like a 10 yard drop off missing the green just short.  

 

The 3w is something I have had to try to get comfortable with.  And it's not anything to do with the actual 3w.  Just me not using one for so long.  I have been using it off the tee on some tighter holes where I have to limit carry.  And, it's becoming an absolute weapon.  Where I tend to hit the ball really high with most clubs, it stays nice and flat.  It doesn't go left on me like the BRNR could.  I just have to remember to barely tee it up off the ground.  

 

7w is still doing its thing and doing it well.  The front/back dispersion is really proving to make that spot in the bag a lot more reliable.  

 

My playing partner has been disenfranchised with the latest driver releases.  He's owned the GT3, the Qi35, tested the Qi35LS, and the last couple of rounds he's had the Qi35 head in his bag pocket and rocking the OG SIM.  He's hit the Dynapwr LS a few times and has commented that it's probably the best head shape out of anything current that he's tried.  Also, noting how good it feels at impact.  

 

Oh, and the wedges.  Man, they're as good as anything else out there right now.  They feel so good.  Nice and compact.  Zero complaints or criticisms there.  The real test with them will be when I can finally play outdoors and can see what the bounce and grinds do for me. 

 

I am hoping to get to the Foresight LM simulator again this weekend.  It won't be a testing session.  Will play a round with my girlfriend on GSPro.  But, I do trust those numbers the most.  So, I am hoping to get a really good idea on how each of these clubs are performing to see if the good performance I am getting on the Uneekor setup is legit or not.

Unlike my fellow MN'er -  I was able to get out today!

 

I realized I don't get along with a push cart.  My back gets tighter and tighter during the round.  I need to suck it up and carry, or invest in a motorized cart. 

 

But!  The Dynapwr LS was money!  It's so forgiving for me.  10/10 would recommend. 

 

Can't comment much on irons as it's a shorter course,  but we all know they are solid.  Mostly driver and half wedges.  Wedges performed great.  I have a lot of confidence with them,  which is nice.

I picked the wedge up earlier this week and hadn't gotten around to posting.

Unfortunately, the main driving range & short game area just completed a renovation after the 2024 U.S. Open and are mat only for the foreseeable future. 

 

I tried to call today for an estimate of when they will be back on grass.  Unfortunately, they couldn't provide an estimate.  In the meantime, here are a few updated pictures of my Staff Model ZM 60.06 wedge with KBS Tour V 110S and MCC Plus4 Align midsized grip.
