7 wood is the best.  My fitter said it would go to high.  Wrong.  It's awesome.  220 yds on the button.  Perfect for par 5s and the occasional short par 4 tee shot.   I might get a 9-wood this year for the 205 shot.

7 wood is great. Just make sure that you get fitted for the right shaft (especially for a 7 wood) and it can be an eye-opener. I play a 7 wood that is 0.5 inch short and it has transformed my long game.

Couldn't agree more, have had a 7 wood in the bag since the original Callaway Steelhead. The Titleist 915f has held the spot for years, and likely many years to come. Still my favorite club.

That's what I am after. 220, high, soft draw. I'm hoping that a choke down cut will hit the 205-210 mark. That way I can possibly eliminate the 4 iron, which rarely gets used anyways. A 9 wood sounds like a crazy fun club.

With a tendency to get steep, I popped one up in a tourney.  After that I started tossing the ball on the ground for my 3 wood and 7 wood.   You don't need a tee for a 7 wood.  Maybe the 3 if you want to catch it higher on the face for some extra yards.  I'm sure the results vary based on your swing and the face height of the club you choose.

Love the 4w/7w set up.   I play both a little shorter than standard and they're point and shoot.

I currently play a 5 hybrid as my next club after 7w, but have thought about switching that to a 9wood.  We'll see what the season holds.

If you to 9W instead of 5H, would that eliminate all hybrids from your bag? Anything you would miss where you like having a hybrid v. fairways?

That would eliminate hybrids.  My current set up is 4w, 7w, 5h, 5iron.  To be fair, I put the hybrid in the bag towards the end of last season so it may be great and I'll love it.

It just feels squished from front to back to my eye.  Im pumped to put it through its paces early this year though.

I'm also waiting on a new iron set with a more forgiving 4iron that I'm excited to try.

I would love to bag one but I fight spin with these types of clubs.  Does anyone have recommendations for the lowest spinning 7 wood?

I was fitted out of one for gapping reason, spun it too high. I think about my 7 wood every day. My fitter basically made me a 6 wood. I have the qi35  5 wood turned up to 19.5 with a 7 wood length shaft. I think Scottie and Aberg's 7 woods are lofted down to 19.75 degrees so I pretend mine is the same haha

Thanks for all the tips, i play a mini driver and a 16.5* 4 wood, the next wood is going to be a battle between the ApexUW 21* and a OG Titleist 7 wood.  I took it to the range, definitely shorter than the Apex but also easier to hit superhigh with a super soft landing

I have the UW as well. I’ve pondered a 7 wood replacement but I find that I “see” too much loft on a 7 wood vs the UW and I struggle with the look at address.  Anyone else experience this?

When hybrid clubs became popular in the early 2000s, fairway woods were still difficult to hit. Manufacturers began improving their design around 2010, with innovations like TaylorMade's RBZ slot technology. But by then, hybrids had already become staples in many golfers' bags.  Since then, slowly over time, people realized that a 7-wood could be just as easy—or even easier—to hit than a 3-hybrid, without the occasional hooking issue.  And here we are now..

I rock a 19* UW and something about the shape makes me want to hit down on it. Hand me a 5w or 7w and I want to start sweeping.  You absolutely need to hit down on a 7w to make it work.  Otherwise moon balls.

The 21UW is very intriguing but I bought the 19* to solve a different problem and now it's one of my fave clubs.  I don't think the gapping would work with the 21*.  Wish the 23* wasn't Japan only.  Still hunting for something to slot in below the 19.

Who's making a lower spin, adjustable 21-23* ish wood these days?

Love my 19° UW too. Come from someone who also struggles at time with FWs, there is something about it that makes it very easy to hi.

I feel like with the attention that 7 and even 9 woods are getting....there is a slim chance of Callaway releasing a 23 or 24° UW in the US. Would be nice wouldn't it.
