Fine print says you must make an equipment purchase. What’s the cheapest thing you can buy to qualify for the deal? Has anyone done this promotion?

I did it a few years ago when no equipment purchase was necessary. Whole process was very rushed and the guy couldn’t wait to print out his overpriced recommendations and shoo me out the door. Didn’t even do the putter fitting because he said “if you don’t have any problems putting we can skip that.”

Led me to finding a local fitter that took his time and didn’t care if I purchased from him or not.

CC is clearly a more corporate model, I can’t really find the value in them. The experiences I had with CC vs Local were a stark contrast of each other. I highly recommend checking around in your area for better options.

Castleton, Indianapolis is the CC location I visited.

You can maybe get a custom wedge with a Pure shaft analysis and a "super high tolerance build" that's roughly $100 overpriced.

Full disclosure, my experience at CC was not great. Went for an iron fitting and settled on a set of Mizunos that were basically stock setup with just small adjustments for length and lie angle. Quote was almost $1000 over retail price, completely ridiculous. I would never buy equipment from CC.

I went for the “full bag fitting for $100” when they were running that promotion a couple years ago.

all I did was try various clubs. I’m not sure what I gained from it.

my fitter was a nice guy but I didn’t learn a whole lot.

Agree with getting a wedge. Be sure not to get fooled into puring.
use it as an opportunity to try various shafts (particularly in the woods)

Think of it as a winter sim 1 hour rental fee.

And yah get the cheapest club you can. Or maybe a putter if there's a new one you wanted to try.

In Canada it used to be $500 pre-tax minimum. A couple of wedges, putter, etc. It was not unheard of for people to do this when they were really only looking to get one club milk the rental bay for 4-5 hrs on the intention of only buying a couple of off the rack Vokeys, a new driver shaft and some grips, or a Scotty but use the system to try every shaft and head they can. I can see why some fitters get annoyed with that if part of their compensation is commissions based. I know why CC does it, to try and get some extra sales if their fitters can really highlight a huge gain in one portion of the bag. However, I think the promotion would be more effective if they just charged the standard fitting fee but it was free if club purchased (stock or custom). That way you weed out the tire kickers wasting 75% of the time of the fitter but still are providing a value to the customer willing to pay to be fit.

Echoing the same as some said above.

I did it a couple of years ago for $100 special ($400 at the time was the going rate). Even at $100, I feel it was overpriced. They go through the whole bag, but mainly they just read the launch monitor in terms of spin/distance and looked at the shafts for me. I feel I could have almost completed it myself (didn't even do wedges because they said it's all preference, which I guess in some ways is true). I was fitted years before that at a private place and they were way more thorough. Get what you pay for I guess.

If you do it though, it seems you have to buy something now, but don't buy the full bag there. You can get it way cheaper online if you know what you are looking for, or just get a prior year's model for way cheaper. For example, they fit me for the new at the time Cobra Forged Tec, I found the 2 years prior model on ebay with the shaft I needed and same spec for close to 1/10 of the price.

I did it back when it didn't require a purchase. Fitter was cool with me since I was upfront about not really looking to buy, just trying out different clubs on the trackman. Save your energy regarding drivers, it'll wear you out quick if you just start swinging away. My only gripe was the SAM putting lab was not working when I went. I am a putting nerd, so I wanted to get the tech.
