I finally figured out why I couldn't handle ANY broomstick putt or counter-balanced one either, for that matter.

 

I got the 38" ZT CB. Played with it for a round, and I was awful. Couldn't reach the hole no matter what. Even on short breaking putts I couldn't control the speed.

 

Worked with it the next day for an hour or 2 and ended up gripping way down on the putter and the head weight started to feel "normal" (read lighter) and was choking down on it so much I was playing it almost down to 30".

 

Played 1 more round, choking way down, but it was no use. Distance was still very inconsistent. I'm convinced it was the much heavier head and swingweight.

 

Traded it back to PGATSS for the 35" normal head and am putting MUCH better with it. Only a few rounds in with the regular 35" but it's pretty darn good. I expect it'll stay in the bag for a while.

Anyone know if a purchase a 35 inch and cut it 1.5 inches to 33.5 will that mess with the zero torque? Thanks

The part of the line right behind the shaft is a little off but this my first run at it. You need an exacto knife to cut around the shaft part too. And I think 1/8” might be too wide? Thoughts? I’ll pull it off and see if I can get it more in line with the black alignment line.

I believe, but am not sure, I've read that a LAB putter being cut did NOT interfere with the lie angle balance of the putter.

 

I expect that would apply to any lie angle balanced putter, but you should give TM a call and ask. No sense ruining a putter for the price of a phone call.

 

Fwiw, I just choke down an inch or so on my 35" ZT and frankly, I kinda like the little bit of handle above my hands. Not nearly a counter-balance situation, but it feels just right.

Expected date is 9-1. Just as long as I wait for my oz1.i. 
I would like to pick one up off here but I get discount from Taylormade first responder.

I finally got the chance to roll these today. Distance control seemed easier for me with these putters when comparing these to Labs and the Odyssey S2S’s on an indoor 15 foot putting green.

Think I just got lucky. Looked on golf galaxy app was going to look at a df3. Just clicked the zt spider for fun and it said 1 available to ship. Was a 33 inch so I scooped it us as fast as I could put my information in at checkout. Lets hope it’s goes though.

Just did the same… said 2 available to ship. I’ll be honest, I’ll kind of be surprised if it actually does.

Added the outside alignment lines and love it. Used some painters tape and extra fine black paint pen.

They are most likely returns or small production runs sent to TM ahead of the next large order from the factory.  Happens all the time with a product in demand.  Enjoy the putter I love mine.

Geez, I am a huge putter Ho' but the ZT just keeps winning the day...Spider feel with easy alignment...distances spot on regardless of Florida greens or now PNW...

In the middle of a move, so no idea when I’ll have it on green grass but fit and finish is very, very good and pleasantly surprised at how compact the head is compared to what I was expecting. Fits in a normal mallet headcover.

Currently loving my 36” cb model. I’d say this is my first real shake at using a cb for an extended period of time but it’s really good so far. 
 

Coming from a DF3 for about the past year with stints of mezz max and link in the mix and I’d say the Spider ZT is closest if not the same feeling as the labs I’ve owned as far as “torque” goes. 
 

My biggest struggle with the DF3 was always distance control but with the spider, I am feeling more confident than ever with it on longer putts. Played 3 rounds over the weekend and sank some really incredible putts all around. I think I’ve found my gamer for the foreseeable future.

I feel the same about the ZT.  So far I think it's the best ZT putter on the market in terms of design and especially feel.  The pure roll insert provides great feedback and distance control as well.

I putt pretty well with my spider but I'm not a fan of the feel. Sounds like the ZT has basically the same feel?

For some reason the ZT and I have just gone sideways. I pulled it from the bag and threw a wide blade in and had 25 putts Sunday on our Bermuda greens. Played yesterday at a friends CC on Bent and used the ZT for the front 9 and had 3 putts galore. Threw the wide blade back in the bag at the turn and proceeded to birdie 3 of the first 4 holes, and not short putts either. Might just have to move this one along here on the BST quickly.
