Portsmouth/Dover

Making the move and looking for places around Portsmouth or Dover. Does anyone know the pricing of clubs in that area? Public courses are easy to find. Does anyone know cost of Portsmouth CC or Cochecho CC? From what I hear Golf Club of New England, Abenaqui and Wentworth would be out of my range. Thanks!

Cochecho's membership prices are on their web site. You'll probably have to ask Portsmouth for their numbers, and you'll also want to ask about the waiting list. I don't have any current info, but historically Portsmouth always has a very long wait list. I don't know about Cochecho's current wait list size either, but usually it wouldn't be as long.

Just want to echo what has been said about Portsmouth. We no longer live in that area - we were there from 2020-2022 and members at Golf Club of New Hampshire, but when we were looking Portsmouth had a very long wait list. Lots of great golf in that area!

I'll be moving to the Exeter area this August and would love some information on both public and private options in the area, along with any tips for finding regular playing partners. Originally from Mass., so excited to get back to the region, but don't know much about the golf in the immediate area. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks!

The Seacoast area is awesome for golf, The Oaks in Somersworth is my fav in NH and The Ledges in York Maine. Breakfast Hill, The Oaks, Ledges, Links at Outlook, Old Marsh.

The Oaks and Ledges are tourney grade courses and you will earn your scores there.

Sux is I have been on the DL since August 2024 with elbow issues and haven't hit a ball in 9+ mths!

I am a member at both Abenaqui and Portsmouth. Abenaqui is about 35K initiation and yearly dues runs about 5K for a single. Wait list is around 110 people for full golf- so probably 8-10 years. You can join right off the bat as an associate golf member while you wait which entitles you to a few rounds/month. PCC is about 8k initiation and dues runs 2-3k a year. List is around 100+ and very little movement on it so no idea how long it would be. Problem there is that it is VERY hard to even get on the waitlist there. Both courses are very well maintained and great to play. Reach out to play some day maybe

PCC has had a long waitlist forever, even before they were fully private. Abenaqui is a fun track, I've played there a lot more than PCC.
