couple putter pics tonight for @Ajgaguy83

 

009 GSS 1.5 welded neck , sound slot and tungsten weights.  Sight dot.  Vertical stamp face. Paint splash cover . Best feeling putter on earth.  The face is thin and the sound slot makes it almost feel springy.

You’re welcome. Took it to the green tonight and just couldn’t miss. And it’s windy as crap.  Been on the bench for a year or more. May just get called back up Saturday.

That’s ironic. I’ve been using a lab armlock for a while now too. I just went back to my old 8802 style putter.

Now that is hilarious!     With these toe down heel shafted putters , I feel like it’s all about the right hand. Specifically the right pointer and thumb.  And the right wrist.  It likes to be rotated through the ball.  I was in a perfect rhythm last night.  And I will say that still to this day my hottest streaks have been with  this Cameron.  There was a time when I made 5 footers and in with it like a free throw.  Just  didn’t miss.

I do love to look at it. Needs me to do a little cleaning. Some dust hanging around the paintfull and corners of the cavity.  Good and bad thing about stainless. You don’t have to clean it often like a carbon head. But that means you never do.

🤣. Yep.  👍.  I got some major crap for using that cover as intended. I’ll take pride in having the world’s most beat up paint splash that’s authentic… still in good shape. But as the complainer said “ it’s creased “. 🤣😂…. Clutches pearls - oh the horror!!

I’ve had it happen before.  And it always amazes me .  If they had any idea how hard welding  a neck on is , they wouldn’t speak.  It’s always the ones with the mechanical inclination of an engineer 🤣🤨.    Sorry. A little engineer humor.

@bladehunter that is a great putter. Sound slot plus the very shallow milling gives the best feel. 👍🏼 The milling on my gamer is the only thing I’d change, but to be fair I am only one round in on the Bag Is Set Challenge for 2025.

It really gives a unique feel. Never hit a putt with anything that is same.

I didn’t make a lot Saturday. But I didnt miss many easy ones either. ( just one that Mind blanked and yip  pushed out of the hole ) speed control was great.  I’ve had this girl a long time now.  Biggest reasons why it’s been benched is mental.  Sometimes you just get in a rut and can’t get out.  But my best ever run of playing was keeping a +2.8 handicap traveling and it was with this putter.  So it’s Mr. Not the stick.  But it’s in for the foreseeable future.

I meant to snap pics Saturday.  I’ll get some whenever the rain stop. Probably tomorrow.  But I’ll warn.  It may not be as glamorous as days past.  It’s a bag of “ this works “. 🤣

Finally posting rest.  
 

 

driver.  For now.  ( I don’t love this one. Spins a lot )    Mavrik max. 9. Turned up to 11 mmt 70 .  Really just a place holder. I like the sound and look of the head. But performance isn’t great. 
 

strong 3 wood/2 wood . BB alpha 816 set on -1 (13) with the heavy weight in the rear.  Kurokage XT 70. Love this shaft.  Really whips through the ball. 
 

4 wood. Sim2 max tour head. 16.5 with a GD ADHD 7 . This is my favorite club. 
 

irons. Ping i530 4-Uw  Nippon built ping Awt 2.0  shafts . These were custom built for me in the Wrx giveaway last year. Set to D5 . With 3/4 inch over length and green dot and midsized tour velvet grips.  . I was in love from the first ball . They gap perfectly. 4iron behind 4 wood. And so on. 
 

wedges . Ping glide 4 built at 53 s grind And 59 T grind . 
 

playing pro v1 back 7 

using a garmin g80 for gps distance. 
all packed in a titleist sta dry bag.

Historically it’s had a pingman standard grip on it forever.  Right this minute it has a Iomic midsize on it.  I’m very picky about a putter grip.  I like the putter in my fingers. Especially my right hand.  This 009 is toe down , like an 8802.  So it wants to rotate . And you need to feel that in the fingers in my opinion.

Yep makes perfect sense. I hate the putter anywhere but my finger tips. And that requires a pistol or something similar. I hate anything that doesn’t help me feel finger tips. 
 

I use midsize tour velvets and with full swing I feel the grip in the base of my fingers. But with putter I want small. It’s weird because I see so many people with standard size grips and then massive SS grips on their putter. So I’m the opposite. 
 

I have been using the GP red star for a few years now and I really like it. I’ve dabbled with the green star before but it’s a little heavy for me. How do you like the Iomic so far?

The Iomic works because of its shape and square edges. Something about that feels right in my bottom hand. A solid connection.  I can pinch with my right trigger and thumb and feel my right wrist extend and unload through the stroke 

 

so far coming back to this putter has felt like putting on an old favorite pair of shoes.  Easy. Comfortable.  Familiar.
