Can someone explain why titleist goes so upright?

I play off of a 60* 7i (2* flat for almost every company) but can’t do that with Titleist

it would end up being just 1* flat for me going 2* flat on the t-series

This is my concern as well, I fit well to 62* 7 irons as a result standard lies for Ping, Callaway etc work well for me. Titleist I’d have to get flattened 1 degree and then tell them to leave the Pw and GW as is… pain… at least with titleist I’d trust them to do it correctly but I would prefer to avoid the hassle.

Can anyone tell me how the new AMT Silver shaft Titleist are offering feels & the ball flight. Is it that much different from AMT White?

Does it feel like Dynamic Gold with the famous 'thump'?

Bit of a long shot has anyone who's hit Modus 105/115 compare it to AMT Silver

I kind of feel like I should’ve gone T100 with slightly bent weaker because the yardages I’m getting on my T150 are pretty wild.

7 iron goes around 195-205

played my first round with them today and they felt amazing. Soft and the compression sounds insane

Thanks for the reply.  That is the main concern of mine.  I would love the have the extra help but worry about the gapping at the top of the iron set with that long of a 7-iron.  I don't need my 7-iron going 190+.  I feel I would have trouble with my gaps from 4-7.  Sounds like one option would be to get the T150's bent weak but the higher percentage play might be T100's to at least the 7-iron then T150's bent a degree weak.  Seems like starting at 6-iron might be where I would enjoy a little extra horsepower/help.

I think I'm in the minority here when I say I prefer the 2023 t200 4 and 5 iron over the T250 4 and 5.  The t250 have a bit of a "ping" sometimes.  I think the t200 look better at address and are just easier to hit.  The t250, without a doubt launch higher, however.  The t250-U on the other hand, is absolutely stunning and a completely different feel and sound than the regular t250.

Ross and his colleague comparing the T150 to Ai150 and i240 here.
quite thorough work from them, as always.

Ok WRX'ers I got myself into a little pickle and need your advice on how to handle it.

I'm a fairly new newcomer to the sport, but I have been diligently taking lessons for the past two years. My first real fitting from Titleist landed me in T200 and T350 blended set. I loved them, and after shaving about 5-7 strokes off my game, I got fit again last year just to make sure they were still appropriate for me. I found the same fitter (as I thought he was exceptional) and he confirmed, I had grown perfectly into them and he did not suggest changing anything.

Fast forward to this year and the 2025 T-series. Again, over the last year I've now dropped another few strokes, but nothing substantial. I'm playing the best golf ever (just broke 90 for the first time) and still taking lessons. I impulsively purchased the identical blended 2025 set as my 2023. However, I made a mistake on my shaft selection. I picked the standard Project X 6.0 vs the LZ. Now, Titlist says these are custom clubs and not eligible for a refund/exchange/etc.

Given that I have not been officially fit into these, would you A) Try and hit the new heads & shafts and see how they perform, B) do a shaft swap with the 2023 irons, or C) try and sell them at a loss and wait to get fit again?

And if B is the answer, do you think it matters where I get them swapped at (PGASS, Club Chamption, GOLFTEC, Dicks, etc) or just find the cheapest? Standard loft and lie, just +.5" length.

Thanks for any help and of course I blame you all for my impulse purchase 🙂

So i'm assuming you ordered them custom from Titleist and they have already been delivered to you? If they were still in production, you should typically be able to swap shafts before they are built at the factory.

Correct, I ordered directly from Titleist and I have them in hand. I have not hit them, but I took the plastic off the heads before seeing my error.

Go to your local Golf Galaxy, PGA TSS etc. and have them put a Project X 6.0 in the fitting head and see what you think. You might be able to sell quickly now at not much of a loss since they haven't officially been released yet.

So I look at it like this:

A. Sell this current set locally if you're in a populous area via Marketplace for essentially retail (you may lose a few $'s), and then re-place the order for your correct shaft/set makeup. They will probably go quick as that's a fairly common shaft, and these irons aren't officially "out" yet.

B. Find a set of LZ pulls on eBay (-$220 or so), have them rebuilt (-$200 or so, plus -$80 for grips), and then sell the PX (+$200 or so). Net $300 ish cost.

I would veto the "take your LZ's from this set, and put them on this set" idea strictly from rebuild fees, as you'll then have to rebuild set 1 to sell them, or lose $ when trying to sell them as head only. If you can build yourself, it's no issue, but getting clubs rebuilt usually isn't cheap if you want pretty good quality.

I would personally go with option A, and then buy the correct blended set/shaft from DiscountDan's. They should be able to help you. This would essentially help you not lose as much money as you would with just re-ordering straight from Titleist. Just a thought.

I've made the switch from AMT White to AMT Silver and it took a range session and a round to get used to the slightly lighter shafts. They feel great when striking the ball well and the flight seemed slightly higher. I feel like I was hitting my longer irons better with the Silver as I was able to hit my 4i very consistently with them. Still need more time and rounds with them but overall happy.

I have not hit the Modus 105/115, but have the AMT Silver in my new combo set (T250/T150) that I was fit into. Previously had AMT White in my T200 set. Just hit ~100 balls last night, and in my opinion the Silver play somewhat similarly to the White but just a bit lighter in weight. I know the Silver slot between the White and Black models, but I think they lean closer to White in terms of feel. Especially in the shorter irons, they feel almost identical to White (a bit boardy I think). By the time you get to 6 or 7 iron, they soften up quite a bit.

Overall I think they are fine and give me the numbers I'm looking for, but personally I prefer the feel of classic DG or DG Mid.

Purely anecdotal here, but as someone who played Project X Rifle 6.0 for a decade and switched to PX LZ 6.0 in my T150s (fit in 2023), I'm not sure you'll see too much of a difference between the two shafts.  I know PX LZ are supposed to load better and have a bit more flex, but I couldn't tell much of a difference in feel, contact, and measurable stats when hitting them side by side.   The only reason I switched to PX LZ's at the time is because they were generating a little less spin for me on the trackman.  Distances were almost identical and peak height was slightly higher on the PX LZ.

If it were me, I'd save the money and headache for the swap and start playing the PX 6.0 Rifles.

I disagree a little on that, I switched two fittings ago and every fitting since we look at 6.5 in LZ or going back to px 6.0 as especially at start of fittings I can flush it and get a very high flight with dispersion up a bit. Then hitting px 6.0 I get that lower penetrating flight, a little less distance and better dispersion, but always always always about 10 swings later, I’m ‘hitting’ harder at the ball as I guess I can feel the shaft not loading. Going back to LZ always brings back a better swing and strike. It’s much more playable for me now, although of course everyone is different.

I remember my fitter telling me back in 2023 that the standard lie of Titleist irons is 1 degree upright compared to other OEM’s. I was always previously fit into irons with a standard lie angle. I went 1 degree flat for my 2023 T150’s.

Yea, I was going by my pure measurable stats between the two shafts vs. my swing's reaction to the shafts.  Lower trajectory for standard PX, slightly higher spin, similar dispersion, and negligible distance variance for me.  And when I mentioned feel, I was referring to club at impact and reaction to the turf.

You're right though everyone is different and clearly you felt the difference with the LZ loading up whereas I couldn't.

Custom order placed from retailer after fitting on Thursday, 7/17 late morning.  Just received an email from Titleist that the new irons have shipped! It's one of those where you get tracking and FedEx hasn't yet picked up the package, lol, but . . . I should have them Thursday or at the latest on Friday. Of course, with less than two business days of assembly I'm already worried they rushed through and messed something up, haha.

Edit: I forgot I ordered custom balls. So “your order” is my 4 dozen golf balls. Damn.

Anymore views on how people are feeling about the new the new AMT silver shaft, specifically how people relate feel to standard DG or modus 105?

What are peoples opinions on the new T150 vs the 2023 model. Are there any noticeable improvements in forgiveness or feel?  Heard from some folks say they reckon the change some people perceive in feel on the new t150 is down to being fitted into new shafts rather than any changes in the clubhead 🧐

Titleist experts, just wondering if it’s possible to order a set where you ask them to make different adjustments to different clubs from factory.

For instance 5-PW 1* flat but the GW 1* flat and 1* weaker.

You can now ordered directly on the Titleist website and make these adjustments.

I adjusted the lie angle and shaft length and selected a custom shaft.

Oh I see, i had to go to the US site not the AUS one.

So for every club I want bent differently I’d just start a new order I guess.

Sorry, didn't realize you were from Australia.  Yes, the US site allows you to customize your specs.  If you want different specs for different clubs, you'd just have to order them separately.
