Cobra 🐍 crew!

I currently have a Darkspeed X driver and a King TEC hybrid in the bag. Backup bag has a Darkspeed 3 wood and LTDx 5 wood.

Started looking at Cobra around the Fly-Z / Fly-Z+ days.  We had an assistant pro who used their clubs, he arranged for the shop to have a number of demo clubs available.  I wound up with a Fly-Z+, also picked up a King LTD driver late the following year.  A few years ago, picked up a SpeedZone driver, and some added weights.

 

Then I started to get into fairways and hybrids.  King LTD 3w was first.  Prefer shorter lengths in driver and fairways, the King LTD offers an easy way to weight the clubhead (open spaceport and start stuffing).  

 

Grabbed a King Tec 2h a couple years ago, have been using it with success as my club between irons and 3w.  This off-season, been thinking I need to replace my 3i with a 3h, and replace the 2h with a 5w; picked up a King LTD 5w for testing to replace that 2h, and a 3h King Tec clubhead.

 

Find myself wondering if I should have gone with a 4h instead of the 3h; my 3i is 20° loft, the 3h is 19°.  I feel better reducing the 4h loft instead of adding loft to the 3h, and would prefer the heavier clubhead (and shorter club length).

 

I'll always give them a look...

Just bought a NOS Radspeed XB Driver so we’ll see how it performs.  Some of my favorite drivers have been Cobra…ZL Encore and F8 King, specifically.

I’ve had great luck with their clubs. 
 

My longest driver ever was the F9. Recently gave it to my son. 
 

Playing the 2023 King Tours now and really enjoy them. 
 

My SW is a circa 2018 King PUR. I’m not a wedge guy, so I’m fine with keeping it forever.

They are amazing.

Got a deal on Dark speed 3HF wood.

Demoed the new DS adapt Driver X model and was very impressed once settings dialed in. Just need to move some clubs to pay for another driver (Have 3 right now).

Currently looking for some cobra wedges.. 

 

I bought a set of Cobra AMP irons and a ZL Encore Driver back in 2012 and I've been playing Cobra clubs ever since. I have tried Nike, Callaway, Taylormade, Mizuno, PXG Srixon and Titielist... irons, wood and wedges... and I always come back to Cobra

I was thinking about my irons this morning since I was listening to something about a player's ball striking. The CB/MB flow set I got into has been so good for me. I don't know if it's the heads or how they match up with the KBS $Taper, but I have been hitting the ball so much cleaner than sets in the past—TC201, T150, Pro 223, Zx7ii, P7CB. I am not one for a head with tech because the faster feeling is offputting. The long irons seem to get the ball in the air with ease and I can also bring the flight down if I need. The blades are very accurate and go through different turf types well. The only set I'd game other than these is the same ones but in black! I know we all say that "this set is going to stay in the bag the entire year" but this one could be just that. These irons are that good and they just perform so well.

Gamed a Cobra LTDxLS for awhile and switched to a Qi10LS and I just picked up a new Darkspeed X driver.

Love Cobra. Gamed a F6+ pro driver for 4 years and then f9 for 4 years. Have used cobra fairway woods as well. I want to love the king tour/cb irons but just dont strike them as pure as others (in the hitting may off a mat) and wonder if it's due to the wider sole. And I'm skiddish about playing MBs. Currently gaming Ai smoke TD driver tho with speedzone Tour fairway wood.

with your ability (+3) ill bet you would love the mb's, I played Mizuno True Mb's for 20 yrs and they feel as good as the Mizunos and perform better.

I ended up taking the plunge and ordered a 4-pw in the 3DP. Been a fan of Cobra and my son still has my old F9 3w in his bag. 

 

Excited to see how these irons perform. Know they are $$$ but the forgiveness in such an attractive package was too much to pass up. Currently play 4i T200 and 5-PW in T150 and they have been fantastic but after going to the store to hit the 3DPs 4 times before ordering was enough to confirm that these have a lot of potential to be fantastic.

My first set of good irons Iever purchased were the King Cobra OS II back in mid 90s, loved them. Also had a trusty Rusty

 

I still have a few Cobra clubs in the bag. Radspeed 5 wood and Cobra King Tec 2021 Hybrids in 4 and 5

im a club ho and these are the best clubs I’ve ever played. Great feel and forgiving considering they are MBs

 

i had the chrome ones sonce they came out and just couldn’t pass these up.

I've got two rounds in with the DS-x and I'm really liking it. I'm using an Atmos black right now, but I might try some other shafts for fun while it's still silly season in Michigan.

Was this written by me?  Also been on and off over the years, and have gamed at least three of their drivers at various times, and two different sets of their irons.  Top end of the bag last year was (for a time) an Aerojet Driver, Max 3W and 2h, with only the 3W having any level of consistency.  Just added a Darkspeed LS into the bag, though I am not hopeful it will last longer than my other driver experiments.

 

One thing Cobra does deliver is good value, and good value for us who buy 1 year behind or in the used market.

To be fair it makes complete sense to have both in the same specs and use the black on sunny/partly sunny days and the chrome on overcast/partly cloudy days.  That is just common sense in my book.

DS Adapt X Driver and 5 wood; King Tour Black 4-Pw. Love all the new Cobra stuff! Tempted by the 3DP's but boy, the more I hit these KT's, the less I'm ready to move on.

Played Cobra AMP Forged for the past 13 years. They've been great to me. But my swing just can't keep up with them since I don't play as much anymore. Got fit and my bad shots were only topping out at 50 feet apex. Just way too punishing on the lower mishits for me. But they were fantastic clubs for the better part of a decade for me.
