Thank you @labgolf and @GolfWRX_Official for this opportunity!

This will be short but will write more once I test and get to laptop. Doing this from phone!

I echo the sentiments about the fitting process and Zoom call with the CEO. Absolutely fabulous!

Just arrived today! I’m coming from an Odyssey Jailbird Ai One so thru the fitting we were trying to make it as much like it as we could. Loved my Jailbird but I’m pretty sure this LAB is a gamer given my 10-15 putts inside.

Here are my early pics of it. More to follow! This thing is awesome!

Got out for a quick 9 over the weekend. Loved the new Lab. I struggled to get the speed right and missed a few greens on the wrong tier so my putting stats were not great. However,  I love this putter. It is so stable. I feel like I’m putting with an old Anser 2 with the Jailbird now compared to the Lab. It’s night and day and I’m definitely better with the Lab. Rolled a ton on my putting mat and just love it. It’s so stable it almost seems like cheating.

more to come!

Agreed - on the putting mat it’s the most consistent thing I’ve ever owned and it’s not close. I just need to figure out a way to bring that to the course! Stuck in the office all day wishing I was lag putting..

Got nice holes in today. Had a rough go and putter wasn't as great as it was Saturday. I am still learning the speed control and greens were slightly slower today. However, I will say most second putts are within 2-3' consistently and most are actually tap ins. I had one bad miss from three feet out that was my bad. I did nearly hole a 37' putt from the fringe that finished 2" short. I also lipped out a 19' putt for par on 9 but then nailed the 2nd putt.

Through 27 holes here are my stats with the Oz.1i vs my DF2.1 from 2024. Different sample sizes but percentages are up across the board and my average holes per 3 putt are much improved

Also should add that I went with the 0 degree shaft lean so that I could use a superstroke pistol tour grip and the onset of the putter doesn't bother me at all.

First round with my OZ.1i 0 lean today at a course new to me.  Putted okay.  Feels lighter the more I get used to it in a good way.  Missed a few shorties.  I do wonder if having lean / press would be better for me in this model.  The hole in the cavity for the insert screw looks weird at address. Surprised that's visible.  I play Saturday in a competition and will game it again.

So pumped for this group of testers - was able to try out an OZ (w/ Gears) this weekend and was super impressed.  As a fellow TPT-user, I'm biased on shaft here, but the Gears seemed to be a great option as well!  Excited to see how this improves this group's putting performance!

Awesome to see folks enjoying their OZ putters! LAB makes a heck of a product and if I didnt semi-recently buy a DF3 then I would def have ordered an OZ haha. I have 2 guys I play with get the OZ putters, one with the insert and one without. Both of them have putting noticeably better and have a lot of confidence.

I tried both of theirs, they are normal length (35 inch putters) and the lighter versions (so not ideal for me as I prefer a much heavier putter and I use armlock). Loved how they felt, might consider an OZ in the future :).

Looking forward to reading more about peoples adventures with the OZ!

Gentlemen! I have been on a journey! I got a notice that my putter shipped and was scheduled to be delivered last Friday. Friday came and I got a notification that it was delivered and when I went out to get it, there was nothing there. Now this is not the fault of LAB as they had my correct address on the shipment. Fedex just decided to deliver it to another address! About an hour later I could see the address where it was delivered and it was about 2 blocks away at a local high school, which is under construction. LOL

School was already out and locked up so I reported the missing package to FedEx and let LAB know and figured I'd call the school on Monday and hope that they had it. The thing that was concerning though is the address Fedex said they delivered to wasn't actually the school address, it was on the grounds according to maps but didn't really exist so I was kind of stressed all weekend. Monday morning I called and they had it! Thank god.

Was able to unbox and take it to a putting green at lunch today and here are my initial impressions and some pictures.

Looks: I love how the putter turned out. I think it's really cool that LAB gives SO many options for alignment aid customization. I probably played around with the putter builder for hours just looking at different options but I'm really happy with what I went with. The materials all feel really premium.

Feel: I was really hoping that the TPT shaft would feel similar to the LA golf p series 135 that I've used for ages. It does! If you really like the p series shaft the TPT will be right up your alley. The graphics are also cool and the shaft contributes to the premium feel. I felt very comfortable immediately on the greens on short and medium length putts, distance control and feel were solid.

Performance: I'm definitely a tinkerer and someone who likes to try new equipment. I feel like I've tried so many putters and so I kind of know really quickly if it's going to be something to challenge what is currently in the bag or not. This one gets full marks for immediate performance, felt really comfortable and started putts on the lines I was seeing. Also I think it's a testament to their fitting process that it feels so good right away, the putter sets up perfectly for my stroke.

I'm also fascinated by the thumbs off drill. Especially on shorter putts, every time I felt like I put a bad stroke on it I would hit the same putt again with my thumbs off and the feel of how the putter moves when you do that is so interesting. And it works, I almost always made the second try putt with my thumbs off the putter. This indicates to me that often my grip pressure is too firm and I'm manipulating the stroke. Really helpful practice tool

Will play golf this weekend and excited to get a view into on course performance!

Absolutely love these alignment marks.

On the thumbs off drill - I completely agree and sometimes force myself on short / high-leverage putts to take my thumbs off (or at least have REALLY light pressure). Good luck with the testing!

Update 4-17-2025

been practicing quite a bit and got a round in today.

not my best performance all around but putting was both fantastic and unfortunate all at the same time, 35 putts. 3x3putts but 2 of them were on huge greens that started at near 100’ and the other was about 60’… the other 3 putt was all me. I lipped out about 5 pretty great birdie putts, one of them was on the high side with near perfect pace and my entire group was confused how it didn’t drop, went 180* from high to low and ended up maybe a foot from the hole… but that’s golf. I can absolutely see the potential in my putting and my confidence is rising.

I’m holing out more putts within 6-10’ or so, which is huge, but I’m worse outside of that range. Just growing pains with a new putter and distance control. Overall it’s been fantastic.

One thing I have noticed is the importance of set up with this putter. It really does stay square to the arc, so I’m finding set up to be even more crucial than a standard putter, maybe it because it’s forward in my stance and my eye isn’t use to the onset (even with the forward press) and center shaft. My miss is definitely off the toe. Luckily it’s pretty dang forgiving. Keeping very quiet hands and wrists is an absolute must, you can’t really feel the head, the golf ball between the grip and wrist has been a good drill.

Another thing to note as I’m getting more comfortable. I’m noticing more start line miss hits, but when it’s missed it’s far less egregious, it’s a small miss vs a big push or pull. I think this is why I’m better 8-10’ and in. More gate drills are in my future. 5’ and in feels automatic, even if it’s not rolling perfectly end over end yet.

Ill be keeping a more detailed putting log from here on out to track my stats.

First On-Course Putter Experience

Got out for a quick 9 after work today at a nearby executive course. It was a little rainy and windy, but I really like this course—the greens roll true. I hit the practice green again last night and felt really comfortable with the putter going in. That said, we all know confidence on the practice green doesn't always carry over when the strokes actually count (even on an exec 9, lol).

Round Stats:

  • Score: +1

  • Fairways: 0/3

  • Greens in Regulation: 4/9

  • Putts: 14

I actually hit the driver fine—just missed the fairways by a couple yards but didn’t get into trouble. Here's a hole-by-hole breakdown of the putter performance:

Hole-by-Hole Recap:

Hole 1:

  • Short of the green in 2

  • Chipped to 6 feet above the hole

  • Made the downhill slider for par – felt great to start with a tester and drain it.

Hole 2:

  • Hit the middle of the green

  • About 18 feet away

  • Easy 2-putt par

Hole 3:

  • Just missed the green

  • Nearly holed the chip but it ran out to 6 feet above the hole

  • Missed the par putt – bogey (misread it)

Hole 4:

  • Hit it to 12 feet below the hole

  • Drained the birdie putt – awesome roll, really satisfying make it

Hole 5 (Par 5):

  • Just left of the green in 2

  • Terrible chip to 25 feet

  • Lagged it close and made the 3-footer for par

Hole 6:

  • GIR

  • 2-putt from ~20 feet

  • Par putt was 4.5 feet – another “thumbs off” stroke that felt automatic

Hole 7:

  • Just short from 205

  • Chipped to 3 feet

  • Made the putt – par

Hole 8:

  • Missed green left

  • Awkward downhill chip rolled out leaving 12 feet coming back uphill

  • Missed – tap-in bogey

Hole 9:

  • Slightly toe-y tee shot, just short

  • Putted from the fringe (30 feet)

  • Lagged it to 4 feet and made the par

Final Thoughts:

Really happy with how comfortable the putter felt even though it was the first on-course test. The greens were a little slow due to the drizzle, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs on quicker greens this weekend.

Lag putting was solid, and I made every putt I should make. The two misses were more about green reading than stroke. Also worth noting I don't think I've missed a short putt when taking my thumbs off which is quickly becoming a go-to mechanic on short putts.

I ordered a similar putter to yours (similar "face" line in the back, 0 deg lean, pistol tour), minus the TPT shaft (just went w/ the stock as I wasn't okay shelling out the several hundred extra...), hoping it comes within the next few weeks!

Another round in and the confidence is definitely building. Played Copperhead yesterday, so notoriously subtle greens and managed one of my best putting days of the year:

IMG_5133.jpeg.eff9cadd72adcaf608887f9a407045d7.jpeg

Still not great, but I don’t think it’s the putter’s fault for misreading the midrange ones. Equally important I didn’t have a single 3-putt all day for the first time in a long time. Back to the practice range today..

Anxiously waited all day as it was "out for delivery" I refresh the page and Fedex says it was delivered.  Woo!  I run outside and nope, it isn't.  My heart sank.   I check the delivery picture and I'm like "that's not my house!"

Luckily it was only next door, lol.

Maybe this is nitpicking but I am noticing some wear already on my laser marks, heart and one of the back lines. Does this seem normal? Always with a headcover. 27 holes in. Always wipe it with a towel before putting back in the cover.

Mine arrives today! A day late (thanks FedEX!!) I have been a Long time L.A.B. guy. 2 years if that is long 🙂  Currently have gamed the mezz max and mezz <-- current gamer.  But excited for the ball speed with the insert!! Will report back with photos etc when I get a chance.

Need to get out on the course tho and reap the results! The only way to fix my putting is to buy a NEW PUTTER!!!

Played a round today and I’ll echo the sentiments here. Practice great, actually stats not so great but I didn’t play well and was really having to rely on getting up and down and didn’t do it.  Made a handful of saves for bogeys thought on 6-10 footers. Greens had just been verticut and I had a tough time adjusting to the speed.

still the most stable feeling putter I’ve ever felt and had.

Was able to get out a couple times the past few days. I walked 9 at one of my favorite courses here in SLC called Bonneville. Was one of those rounds that reminds you that you're 40 and out of shape lol. Cold and windy and never really got loose so the full swing shots just never felt good. Chipping and putting were solid though, had 4 1-putts (2 for birdies) and 14 putts overall. Only hit 2 greens and shot 41, felt like the putter really helped me.

Today I got out for 18 at another course I play a lot called Davis Park. Greens can be pretty tough depending on the pin positions and they were relatively tough today. Had one of those tale of two 9s rounds shooting 37 on the front and 46 (lol) on the back. Only hit 6 greens on the day and had 36 putts. Was a weird round with the putter because I didn't feel like I putted bad but the speed wasn't quite as good on some longer putts as it was in the other rounds, especially on log uphill lag putts. Had two 3-putts both on par 3s where I had 30+ feet and just didn't hit great first putts. Also had 4-5 putts lip out which kind of contributed to the feeling that even though 36 putts isn't good, I hit a lot of good putts that didn't go in. Excited to practice for a few days before playing again.

Played a course with tough greens today.  First round with the OZ 38 putts.  Worst I've had a in a long time but started to dial in the feel at the end.  Will keep trying.

takes some time to dial in the feel/speed. Think I am about 10 rounds in with the OZ and still feel only 75% of the way there. As a test I tried the same putt side by side with my scotty newport and with the same stroke the scotty was rolling out about 2 feet further on a 10 foot putt.

I think you're right.  Lag putting is typically my strength, but yesterday I had at least four 3-putts.  It's quite a bit heavier than any putter I have.  Funny, because most of us were saying the DF3 felt too light.  That being said the OZ.1i is very smooth.  It's point and shoot on shorter putts.

Also feels like there's an element of learning to re-aim..at least with the CB. For a long time i managed to be more handsy and would have streaky days, but could steer it to start on my intended line. Now my only thought it just let the putter move on line, so setup, distance control and read are the only variables. IMO my shortcomings here are now way more amplified than before.

All of that said, it's hard to turn back. The consistency in distance control is coming along quickly (2-3 weeks in) and i'm getting to the point where i feel consistent in setup looking down. Next round is at my home course where i know the reads, so excited to test it out this week.

Figure I should post an update.  It's been about 3 weeks.  Man, broomstick is tough.  Still feeling pretty awkward if my set up is off at all.  Really trying to get a routine built, but it's proving tough.  When it's on, man is it good.  Start line, speed, tempo, everything is improved.  Going to keep practicing.  Still very much happy with the looks and feel of the OZ.

Had a quick nine today and my head wasn’t in it today. Had 4 three putts, but it wasn’t the putters fault. My speed control and some aim was off. I did have one awesome putt. A big left to right breaker rom the fringe downhill that I hit just right and sunk for birdie. 36 holes in and I am still have a stroke better than last year despite the poor showing today.
