Will be interesting to see if the flood gates open for him in the majors, now that he ended the 10+ year drought.

He could have won this week by 7 or 8 shots if it wasn't for nerves, I know you can say shoulda, woulda, coulda, but he even admitted himself it completely got to him and he cared so much it was inhabiting his game. If he starts playing loose without a care, he could be hard to stop. I can't imagine he will 'care' that much about winning at Augusta again, which could work in his favour.

I think it’s possible he wins a few more. He’s been around for a long time but he’s  still only 35.
It seems like he mostly beats himself with the odd loose wedge or loose putt rather than succumbing to another player that he doesn’t have the talent to match. So with the big fat monkey off his back, he could freewheel and maybe get some more.
On the other hand, he might just kick back and not worry about it.  It’s hard to have a crystal ball about it.

He will be 36 soon.  That's honestly old in golf terms.  Big Rory fan and I think he gets more but let's not pretend that he's 26.

He is still one of the longest drivers in the game. Gives him a fighting chance on any golf course. I like what he has been doing lately with this new golf ball and the more controlled approach on his iron shots. Keep doing that.

I agree.  I think the problem as guys get into their late thirties is loss of short game touch and putting skills.  That's what I remember anyways.

Yep, "Old Man" nerves is definitely a major challenge for everyone as we get older in sports. Or heck, even in daily tasks with our lives. Your hands get a bit shakier, etc.

There were a few couple course management blunders that weren’t from nerves.

13 he aimed dead on the pin for his 3rd shot when just 5-10 feet left would’ve stayed dry plus the green slope could’ve bring the ball towards the pin.

18 the first time, 2nd shot ball below his feet + his stock swing having a tendency to push; instead of aiming at the pin, he looked like he was aiming right edge of green, hits it in bunker.

Probably nerves came into play with his judgment at the time but he’d had plenty of non-majors where he made similar mistakes. Just getting the gorilla off the back finally isn’t going to increase his golf course management IQ.

Congratulations to him. The reaction when he sunk the play-off putt said it all.

Technically, it is Spieth but the actual likelihood of that coming to pass would, sadly, seem slim.

Yeah, I think it's Speith.  I looked him up and his record shows that he still needs a PGA Championship to complete the slam.  I wonder if the hype machine will pile on him as heavily as it did for Rory?

I don't suspect it will. It will be talked about and mentioned for sure but Jordan is not the player he was when he was winning majors in 2015 and 17. Rory, if not better, has always seemed to be almost as good as he was when he was winning his majors which has resulted in much more expectation.

Scottie would be the obvious next one

Why, Why must people always add his name to the conversation?  And as "obvious?"

Inevitably these people respond:

Well, because he's number one, always near the lead and drives it straight.

To that logic I sumbit: Greg Norman
