Is the Cobra DS Adapt Max K Driver for Real?

Anyone found having to adjust to it?

Swing weights to approx D6, quite a lot higher than most stock offerings (usually between D1 and D4)

I came from the G430 10k to this and I continue to laugh everytime I hit the Max-K because of just how amazing it has been. I sound like a broken record but Cobra really has an incredible driver here that I really hope more people look into

Gah, you just cost me $400 man. 🤣

Coming from a PING MAX 10k as well, still slightly annoyed by the toey misses on this one, hoping the Cobra keeps those a smidge more under control.

Yea, the finish and shape look very good behind the ball imo. I hope it works out for you, this thing is silly on the course haha

For a 10K driver it looks amazing behind the ball. Confidence inspiring but in no way bulky or awkward looking. Cobra really knocked it out of the park looks wise. Feel and performance are next level though! My entire regular foursome is now all in the Max K ranging from 3.5 to 15.8 hcp. Paired with a properly fitted shaft it's just amazing for almost any one!

As a fellow mini driver owner (and someone also looking at the Max K), for you personally, what's the differences in distance and dispersion/accuracy compared between the Max-K and Mini driver?

Great question, I would say yardage wise I am roughly 15-20 yards difference between my PXG SW and the Max-K. The PXG is around a 250-255 carry club for me, where my Max-K is around 270-280 carry. Accuracy they are both very similar, I don't have trouble hitting either where I need to in the fairway.

The Mini acts as a specific club for specific distances at the courses and for when the driver is feeling off, but I will admit that since getting the Max-K in the bag I have yet to have a "bad" driver day (and I actually mean that).

The fitter at our local independent golf shop was singing the praises of this one today. He said the Cobras have been winning over players who are biased toward other brands. Seems like a real leap forward, fitting-wise.

With all the hosel option plus movable weights it would seem like being fit on a LM is more or less mandatory.

It just fits almost any one.

Any one who misses in different spots on the face no matter their handicap should be trying this thing. It's hot off the face, doesn't spin like crazy. Match up your preffered shaft and it's gold Jerry!

It just makes misses so damn playable and barely penalizing (within reason)

I bit the bullet and ordered one on Amazon because I had a $100 gift card. The only shaft option was the Denali Blue. Has anyone hit that shaft, and what were your thoughts?

I normally get along with mid/mid shafts so I'm optimistic.

I have this shaft in my PXG SW mini driver and its very very good. Stable shots, doesn't go all over the place, feels solid when hit and gives me a really solid window and flight. I have a feeling it will work out nicely for you in the Max-K

I've read on another forum where several users are reporting that the 9 and 10.5 launch is significantly different.

9 launches low, 10.5 launches high (yes duh lol), but when they are adjusted to match lofts, they are still launching differently.

eg stock 9 at 10.5 still launches much lower than a stock 10.5.

stock 10.5 at 9 still launches much higher than a stock 9.

Anyone experienced this?

Based on my experience, that's just applied to most clubs.  You can adjust the loft to match but the 9 degrees always launch higher than 10.5 degree, same as hybrid and fairway wood.

That's really interesting. As a golf equipment nerd, didn't think it'd be any different lol.

Found more on another forum where Cobra has confirmed they have purposely designed it this way.

yeah, they have internal differences on the 9 and 10.5 for different flight characteristics. Even more options for a quality fitter to find the optimal window for a particular swing/flight.

The internal weighting is different.

Pretty sure this applies to the LS and X, not the Max K.

That's the X with PWR-BRIDGE.
K doesn't have PWR-BRIDGE.

Alright I'm in love. Played it for the first time today. No range swings and hit 8/10 fairways. The two I missed were probably a total of 10 feet and did no harm. This thing just wants to hit high straight bombs. I was a little worried I'd lose some distance but I was right there with my two buddies like I normally am, minus the horrible misses haha.

My driver issues lately have been a two way miss. I either hit push fades or try too hard to close it down and I pull hook it. With the Max K I can just aim down the middle, swing left (I'm a lefty) and hit a nice little push that doesn't fade or lose distance.

The stock Denali Blue 6s is working fine. FTR I try to swing smooth and my ss is 105-110 depending on how my back is behaving that day. I slipped a disc about a week ago and didn't know if I could even play today. Shot a 74 with garbage putting.

TLDR: this driver is awesome
