Can anyone provide any insight as to the size of the P730 vs P7TW? I’ve heard the P730 are pretty tiny, and the Rors version are supposedly even smaller?

I think the p730 and rors proto are pretty close to the same size with the rors protos being a tad smaller all around.

you think the rors proto's will be smaller all around vs p730? I don't get that from the TM description of them. They describe them as the same as p730 except thinner topline on 7,8 irons and TW grooves. If they were smaller all around why would they only say the 7,8 iron have a thinner topline than p-730.

 

Inspired by P·730 irons, the RORS∙PROTO 7-iron and 8-iron have a thinner top line, which is Rory’s visual preference. Instead of the MX9 grooves found in P·730, RORS∙PROTO irons have TW2 grooves which are used in P·7TW irons. Rory feels these grooves provide him better spin out of the rough.

"The P7TW blade length is also slightly longer than what’s currently found on P730, and in some instances, the hosel length is shorter (3 millimeters shorter in the pitching wedges). The lie angle was also flattened across the board to match Woods’ setup."

My understanding is Tiger likes a longer blade to slow the squaring of the  iron face and promote a fade.

P730 and rors are shorter heel to to3 rhan tw. Tw has different groove configuration than 730. Rory went thinner topline on 7/8 iron than 730 and then stuck tigers grooves in his protosz

The RORS Proto definitely look longer heel to toe than the p730 from the address position picture TM provided. I sure hope they are longer otherwise these may only get a small stint in the bag.

weird they make you buy the 4 iron in the rors proto when he isn't even playing those. Doubt that many will actually use in the set, could have saved a few hundred.

also kind of weird that Rory uses .25" longer shafts in his set. Guy is only 5'9", wonder why he does?

He tends to choke down a little bit on all of his clubs, which I would assume its for more control/stability. I laughed when I looked at the length of his irons and they are almost as long as mine (I go .5" over, 6'3" tall).

maybe a way to add counterbalance, make them longer and grip down. Seems interesting

Remember this is also using tm measurements. Tm .25 over is about standard  for Titliest and ping, and still about .25 short of standard Srixon.

His jacket size is a 38 or 40 short. Dude has relatively long legs, relatively short torso, relatively short arms, and stands fairly upright.

oh really? That probably plays into it as well. @Pnwpingi210 was also right in that TM irons are .25" shorter than Titleist and a few other OEM's. I only looked at titleist MB's and they are the same length as the RORS Protos. Rory was a titleist MB player when he first got on tour and had success so probably stuck with those lengths his career.

I tought i ordered Rory spec, but as was shown here he is playing longer and flatter lie..

Who knows what he’s truly playing.  

 

heres a 2018 build sheet - note he really only plays the protos 5-9 as he uses 760 4 and mg4 pw.

I ordered mine at +0.25 length and 1 degree flat with his appropriate shafts and grips.  It’s about as close as you will get here.

I would also like to do that, but Taylormade does not let me alter anything after i placed the order. Seems strange since it is not going into production until september…

They say you can't cancel even if not shipping until September but I mean, that's not really true. There are ways to not get charged on your card, just saying.

Can you cancel and reorder?  Seems crazy they won’t allow you to make these small alterations when they are like 4/5 months away from being built.
