That’s what I ordered, full out Rory specs💪

Is that because you're buying them as a collector's piece as opposed to gaming them?

If you buy them, try playing them👍

yeah thats the thing, my desire for them is about Rory. I have sets of 80s blades I have under $100 in that I adore.  I got the Rors balls and will be using them on a par 3 outing coming up.

These are not collectors clubs, I’ll definitely give them a whirl😃

So you ordered them with Project X 7.0 shafts?  I can't imagine playing something with shafts that stiff.

Yep, I sure did.  I figured I might as well order them in Rory specs for the fun of it. These won’t replace my P7TW irons, but it will be fun to mess around with them.

After you ordered, was there any information about order cancellation policies?  Since they won't be shipped for quite some time, I'm wondering if there's maybe a period of time that cancellations may be accepted.

Not sure, I didn’t see anything on my confirmation email about it.

Since it’s a special order, I’m sure it follows their normal policy for custom orders🤷

How can anyone be upset that the prototype irons of a right handed player aren't available in a left handed version?

That's like being mad that they're not releasing a Rory baseball bat.

Give TM a break. If they made a lefty version they'd probably have to melt them all down in a year because no one bought any.

Especially since that would mean TM would need to make completely new tooling for a left handed version.  Leftys can be so myopic and unreasonable.  Phil is one case in point.

September ship date, sounds like they first they want to gather how many heads/orders they will need to fulfill first. Ever since they got sold off to another company for having too much overstock it's been really slim pickings on heads etc. I ordered the p730 back in 2018 and my order was waiting half the summer for a few heads to come back in stock and it's not like blades are in demand clubs. Eventually just cancelled it.

I would bet the delay in delivery is TaylorMade's way of setting expectations in an ever changing environment. Supply chain issues are just starting to pop up and will only get worse the further we get into summer. Welcome to the new normal.

Not really.

This is in response to Rory winning the grand slam.

they have get the manufacturing facility setup to build the irons at scale.

take the orders

Make sure they have a enough raw material on hand to produce the the order irons.

make the iron heads

then the fun part, put them on a boat to come to the the us or whatever country they are going to……that takes about a month.  Get through customs or whatever port authority can take weeks as well.

then build the irons to spec.

Believe it or not they are already working on the next version of qi woods product launch right now.  If they aren’t in production, they will be in the next couple months and those don’t release till next jan-feb.  So not really a “delay” and more of a let’s take orders and then make them vs a planned production cycle.

yea that’s true, they couldn’t really wait until they had everything ready because then the hype would be over and not like they knew he was going to win. However, I bet they have been brainstorming this idea for years since the success of the tw irons. Just waiting for him to actually win it.

I have my brain in a pretzel trying to decide if I need a set of these.

Problem is I also want a set of P7TW’s this year and I’m scared they’re going to randomly discontinue them soon.

These are now available in Australia. $2,599.99 AUD ($1,685 USD). Nippon no upcharge. DG X100 TI $25 AUD ($16 USD) upcharge per iron.

Shipping date September.

There's no Tour Issue option for the DG X100 here in Ireland and the UK.

Are you sure it's TI?

Rory has mentioned this year that he uses reminder (ribbed) grips, specifically the Golf Pride New Decade White Black REM.  This is indeed the default grip option for the custom RORS∙PROTO iron set.  Are these grips tour only?  They don't seem to be available on the Golf Pride website nor any other iron model via the TaylorMade configurator.

How good do you have to be to actually hit these? Just curious. They look sweet, but would imagine I couldn’t hit anything over a 9 iron unfortunately

I imagine about the same as any other blade on the market, they aren’t that different
