If they are anything like the Japan X-Forged from last year they will be a big hit. I played those all last season – recently sold – but they were great. Would honestly love to see all these dumb names die out from Callaway and have the sets be one larger cohesively named family like Taylormade and Titleist.

Titleist's release cycle is well known, give or take a few days.   An OEM could plan something, sure, but no one is going to change direction because of this.

 

Better to let your own teasers have a moment to themselves later than be overshadowed by what Titleist has done.

Really holding out hope for a new MB.

 

Current generation was quite the disappointment,  very low bounce and low cg, enough so that one offs were made for Akshay and Min Woo with more bounce.

 

Funny enough, they made them alongside Maverick, and then he bailed to p7tw.

Yes.  I hit the Ai 150s yesterday.  Coming out in a few weeks.  It's essentially the Ai 200 in a smaller package and slightly (.5*) more loft, at least in the 7 iron.  Same feel.  Could not tell the difference between the 200 and 150 in the 7 iron feel wise.  Also produced similar numbers spin (6800), launch (18*) and decent (47*).  Carry distance was 162 vs 165.

So as a loyal Callaway player for the last 6 years, feels like this is going to be a good release.  Sounds like the Pros (current Pro 23 player) is trending a bit more towards the player distance category with stronger lofts.  That is fine, I most likely will go X Forged if the Japan release comes here, but will say that I will stay Pros in the 4 and 5 iron as those have been absolute weapons for the last 2 years.  I continue to be somewhat confused on what Callaway is thinking in terms of releases, but feel they may luck into a better track this year.

So I haven’t seen anything formal either - but July has been the typical release over the last 2 years (Apex Pro, CB, MB in 23 and AI 200, 300, Fusion in 24).

 

So just went back and looked and technically the 23 release was August 1st.

Surprised this thread isn't more active.  All the sales guys at my retailer (who like to call themselves "Callaway Staffers" because they got a free driver from the rep) were talking about the rep carrying the new heads around, and they've hit them.  All new Apex line with an X-Forged (likely the Asian-market head we've seen).

 

Surprised we haven't seen more pics.

There must be an embargo on the information as is normal, I just wanted to know how the sole looks and got nothing so Callaway is keeping it tight.

I think the conversation around the TCB played a role in this. They released the CB’s and then like a week later they released pictures of the TCB’s - which were eventually released much later. Odd marketing.

That pretty normal.  Go look in the Titliest thread at the pro shop workers that get discount Titliest clubs and say “I’m going to be on staff with Titliest this season”.  Don’t think it’s limited to cally 😆
