New Callaway Iron Line for 2025

I have and really like them. I have a CB/MB set but want to go to a full CB set and was just hoping they’d come out with a new line of Apex’s. I like the more compact look and top line of the current CB’s.

As for the standard one, I'm a big X Forged '13 snob and this iteration of XF is the iron I've been waiting for the company to release for 12 years now. They FINALLY got it right.

Bcflyguy I have the same hope. Especially after watching Phil’s most recent WITB video. He switched from the XF 13 to the ‘24 Xforged. (Custom milled in lefty for him)

 

JUST in case the Xforged don’t fit the bill and you aren’t able to find any more XF13 set I found that the Apex pro 2016 are comparable. Behind the Apex pro 2016, the 2019 apex pro DOT (single) weren’t too bad. Lastly the ‘24 Apex CB is my 3rd choice for comparing to the XF13. The recent apex cb is forgiving but the feel is a bit harsh and turf interaction isn’t as good as I remember with the XF13. Outside of the Callaway line, the zx7 mkii and Zxi7 would be the most comparable IMO. Again I’m with you in hoping these ‘25 Xforged live up to the legacy.

which irons do you have in the CB? And which in the MB? Also do you work the ball often?

 

I haven’t tried the MB but currently playing a set of full CB 5-11. They are great but for me they tend to fly straight. That’s at the cost of being less workable.  Just depends on what you are looking for or what you need

Callaway has to recoup the cost they had to spend on extra energy usage due their super duper AI computer drawing tons of electricity to compute the algorithms to make them more AI-ier than the AI 200.

Don't forget the '18 Xforged which i believe were the last single piece forging from Cally until now.

I have 11-8 in the MB AND 7-4 in the CB. I don’t work the ball much with the shorter irons but I do with my longer irons. I play a natural draw, and I haven’t had many issues working the ball with the CB’s but to your point there are some that tend to fly straight when I try fading it. I haven’t seen a crazy different between the two though which is why I’d rather take a little more forgiveness where I can get it.

I think it is there, but with the Titleist dropping near the same window I can see why things are a bit quiet.  I know some have already received them, but my local PGA Superstore still doesn't have fitting heads.  I would like to see the actual head size and the chrome finish before ordering blind.

My ai150s arrived today. Plenty of hype at my house. They’re beautiful, look like a slightly larger TCB, a little less rounded too. The ai150 is considerably smaller than the ai200. I have the ai200 in a couple of long irons.

Im considering a possible combo set. Mainly just in keeping my ai200 4 iron. They blend pretty well together? I think them releasing the x star forged at the same time takes some of the hype from these too. So much going on in so little time.

Nice!  I ordered 5 to PW and excited to get them.  

 

I ordered the blind on release day thinking they'd be solid.  Of course the trade in helped there.

 

Finally got to see and hit the 7 iron today and it has me pumped.  That old Apex 19 fast, soft, crisp feel in a neat TCB like shaped package.

You and @dmeeksDC need to stop.  Have the cart loaded with a 4-AW set with MMT shafts.  Switched to graphite and played MMT when I went ordered the Pros - and with the 2X trade, feeling a blind order is the right move.

I agree. These seem similar to titleist t150’s so I’m hoping they come out with a new cb line for apex as well

Mine are on the truck for delivery today. Trying them with the new Modus 110.

So for me they are great irons, BUT I HATE CHROME! Remind me of Rogue ST Pro at address. If they were satin I would hang into them.

 

Will probably be returning these for the chrome version of the Ti Fusion.

Anyone order the new apex ti fusion in chrome or the ti fusion ai250? would love to get some more information on the new model and see if there are any performance differences between OG ti fusion and the new chrome one.

I have a set of Ti chromes waiting for me at the local shop. I’m not sure yet if I want to keep them or swap for i240.  

 

I owned the Ti black which were wonderful irons except:  

1) I broke the face weld on the 4 iron a few weeks in.

2) I snapped the 5 iron right above the hosel a week after breaking the 4 iron.

3) The finish was horrific.  Scoring irons looked 10 years old after owning for 2 months.

4) They went too far.  No fliers, distant was consistent.  Turf interaction was ok.   

 

Despite all that the irons performed.  Extremely forgiving with a nice high launch.  I’m a Ping fanboy but not completely sold on what they are doing with the i240.  

 

The Ti chrome looks absolutely fantastic in person.  I’m very close to making a decision so if you can wait a few days I’ll let you know.  If I stick with the TI chrome I’m going to have the shop rebuild them and bend the lofts to a 50* GW down to a 22* 4 iron (obv then matching in between).
