For the X-forged yes, but I believe the Max is net-new.

Yes, but the x-forged star looks pretty similar to the x.  I think the concept is basically the same, so maybe the Max is the next iteration of the Star?

Yeah.  The max has a back like a zx7.  Also 32 loft vs 29 for the star.  Different for sure

Agreed - if you removed the badging, it looks almost identical to the ZX7.

These soles will play close to the same as the Srixon's. They are not low bounce by any means.

Literally every discussion from people with these clubs *in hand* is talking about how OEMs are basically stealing the V-sole from Srixon. Wunder says as much in his podcast last week.

But yeah, I guess it's not as 'pronounced' or something to your expert eye. Couldn't possibly be that you said something wrong, again, and then doubled down on it. Certainly doesn't happen on half the threads here these days...

Picked up a set from  a tour van here in Europe 3iron-PW with c taper 130x and it was love at first hit!!

amazing club the x forged is, shelf appeal is 100% but the performance is even better! I play mostly on links turf and the sole interaction is exceptional

There have been v sole irons way before Srixon even existed as a brand fyi, they did not invent it

The soles on the new X forged irons are very similar to the Z Grind on the Opus wedges.

No, wunder is saying that and he speaks in hyperbole.  Other reviewers aren’t literally saying that, in fact I can post two videos from this morning where they don’t mention Srixon at all..  that is not literally.

 

I’ll Come back to this and post some pics later (getting error 200 when I try right now) comparing the srixon v sole, Callaway x forged, and mizuno s3 soles since I don’t think you have seen them yet based on your comment. Stay tuned

Yup.  Much more like wedge grind.  C shaped pre wear on leading edge and a s grind relief on the trailing edge.

Wunder rambles on about a lot of things and has a tendency to be wrong a lot. He also thinks/acts/insinuates every tour pro is his best friend. Look forward to the pics 👍🏻

Yep! Been playing mine since Summer of 2024 and still love them! As a matter of fact I posted this picture in the “latest purchase” thread last year.  I’ve since upgraded the shafts to GD AD iron shafts
