Qi35 vs g440 max

For what club? I went with Qi35 for driver and G440 for woods. I found the driver was at least 10 yards (with Kai’li CB shaft in stiff) further with almost no drop off in forgiveness.

For the Ping woods, I loved the 4w option over the 3HL at TaylorMade. Not sure why. I cut the 4w down a half an inch so it’s at 5w length and I hit it as far—and more consistent—that my old G425 3W. I also got the Ping 4h and 7w.

You should compare the 440 lst to the qi35, apples to apples.  The lst very good driver, promise you the 5 yards you may lose will make up for accuracy, worth a shot.

Delofting a higher spin head to lower spin will increase the accuracy needed to keep a shot straight.

Spin Tilt Axis ≈ arctangent(Face To Path / Spin Loft)

So when you lower Loft to reduce spin you're lowing spin loft ( with the same AOA).

A low spin head lowers spin through vertical gear effect so you lower spin but not spin loft. So they will spin less but the same FTP error flies straighter.

Yep totally get it.  I already have the head and it is adjustable, so why not. we will see if I can get a bit more out of it and keep the dispersion

Honestly the the G440 LST is probably more consistent across the face than the Max

I have both and completely agree.

I knew I should have got lst. In my fitting I thought I hit it better but the fitter said the dispersion front to back was better with max.  I was marginally better .

As for today, like Witt predicted as well as me 8 was horrible on the miss hits and shots slightly off direction .

who wants a g440 max head?!?!

I have both of these right now.  QI35 in a 9 degree core, and the 440 max in 10.5. I feel like the TM is 15 to 20 yards longer, but the 440 is easier to hit.  Just goes straight.  My scores seem to be a little lower hitting from the fairways.  The 440 seems like an improvement from earlier models.  Sounds much better.  The TM is the best looking driver,  feels great,  and is super long.  I don't think you can go wrong with either of these ones to be honest.

But the lst is fade bias and smaller... Qi35 is fairly neutral.  No way it's near as forgiving as qi35

Try it, promise you it is well worth the look.  As far as fade bias you can make adjustments, I have always felt TM drivers are fade bias.  I don’t see it in the lst, but that maybe only accurate with my swing.  Google it there are test results that have the ping lst much higher in the forgiveness category than one would expect.

I tried both these drivers as wanted something more forgiving than my tsr2 and didn’t see any difference. Tried the GT1 with the heavier back weight and standard shaft and it blew both of these options out the water.

Testing the G440 LST vs the QI35 core now. I don't think the G440 Max is a good comparison to the QI35. Even dialed down, there's a big spin difference for me.

I have both set up as open as they can go and at 7 (tm) and 7.5 (ping). The QI35 likes to go straight but I can turn it over at times.  The LST has been a consistent cut. BS was very close but slight edge to the QI35. I don't want to see the lefts, so the G440 LST probably fits me better. Like it behind the ball better. Both very forgiving.  I agree the LST is fade biased, at least how I have it set up. I have tough time fading the QI35. Both great. All comes down to ball flight preference.

Our testing shows the 440 LST is 5mm fade bias , as in you have to move 5mm toe side before the spin axis is neutral. Which in terms of a bias is not much at all the draw bias clubs in generally are upto 15mm.

Horizontal tilt axis from our studies is starting to show a clear trend that tilt axis is 1-2° per mm miss from the spin center. so for the 440LST a center strike is 5-10° tilt axis which is ~ 9 yards fade curve.

From a 10° spin loft, the fade bias is about the same as a 2 degree open face.

If your total tilt axis is under 20° you should find fairways.

This is fascinating. Do you have this data for Ping’s alleged loft specific bias in its hybrids?

I'm looking to change from my TSR2 . Qi35 or Ping LST .  Live Ping but can get a great deal on the TM .

Oh they’re not bad clubs, just did nothing for me. My GT1 goes further and straighter.
