Does this exist??? The spin , apex and launch of a prov1x/maxfli tour X type firm ball but in an softer/lower compression?

I've tried the 2024 BXS (pretty close) Zstar diamond (meh) with closest being VICE PRO.....that actually feels outstanding and spins nicely except on downwind shots.....

Full transparency,  I'm older ,slower mid launch and lowish spin .

Not distance chasing and I play traditional lofted irons ( jpx921 SEL; tour/forged combo for lefties)

The two that come to mind are the Z Star Diamond, and new Mizuno Pro X

Input on 2024 TP5?

TP5 will fly lower than V1X but with similar spin and softer feel.

I finally tried the triple D ball and I am sold. Firm low spin mid launch and super spinny around the greens. I did not find any issues with durability that some have at least not yet...

Welp....actually went Maxfli Tour X

Softer than prov1x or vice pro plus ....

Higher launch and spin than TP5 and slightly longer on good for good strikes...

Can't get over the unique feel...... not clicky , not overly firm but enough crispness to notice a difference from vice pro or tp5......

Even though I wanted a soft feel with spin and launch , I'll take the feel of the Maxfli tour X ......

The chrome Tour is really good and fits your description......the 2025 Prov1, for me, has really taken a step back....i cant launch that in the same window as the 2023.......its too low for me.....almost annoying

Tried Chrome Tour,  probably 3rd on list after Maxfli Tour X and Vice Pro

I’d try the Chrome Tour X.  IMO it feels firm but not hard.  I gamed it all last year; really liked it.  It’s a very fun ball around the green.

CTX is a great ball except it spins too much with the mid and short irons for me.  Quite a few on Cally staff have complained about it too.  TD is really good as well minus durability.

Literally only due to your push did I reconsider it....... low spin and LONG Off tee; solid feel and more than enough spin into and around the greens.....what more could a golfer want?

agreed.  I was so dialed in with the 2023 Prov1 and the left dot, but i gave the chrome tour a shot and now this ball is taking the place of the left dot....and may become my main ball.....its highly under rated

From your experience,  does this sit right between Prov1 and LEFT DOT in feel and performance?

This is what i found. Ill try to be as clear as i can

Feel (softer to firmer)

Prov1

left dot

CT

Feel (explosiveness) - nobody talks about this but its something ive always thought about and always look for in a ball

Left dot

CT

V1

Driver Trajectory (low to high)

Vi

Left dot

CT

Long Iron play - Feel and trajectory

Left dot

CT - very very close with Left dot.

V1

Approach - 150 and in

V1 - almost perfect on approach

CT - love the trajectory and spin

Left Dot - all three very very close. I like the softer feel of the v1 on approach shots for some reason but hard to choose with all three

Wedge play - (50 yards and in)

CT / V1

LD

Greenside

CT - love the slightly firmer feel here and the spin. ultimate control. Highly confident in the CT

LD - great feel. Spin is fine. but not CT level.

V1 -  the v1x might be better around the green due to spin

Putting

CT/LD/V1 - all three are great.  TBH, on superfast greens,  i like the LD. Just firm enough to provide great feedback and control. V1 on medium greens and CT on medium and soft greens. Its all about feedback on putts for me. No loser or winner here.

Overall, if I had to rate these balls on a 1-10 scale for ALL aspects of play it would be as follows

LD- 9.8

CT- 9.6

V1 - 9.6

Im really glad you mention explosiveness.  Was literally mentioning that to another member in a message as its something I look for as well.  For some weird reason, especially with D, I love that and if I know the ball is gonna jump off the face it really amps me up.  Im so weak lol.

And Im very mad at you now since I am going to have to try Chrome Tour.  I thought I was all settled on TP5 and Srixon XV.  🙂

lol.  As we know feel is so subjective and it may not be the same for you.

4 years ago, a buddy gave me a new chromesoft out of the box and while the ball didnt do everything i loved, that thing was long and straight......i was shocked how well it preformed......it flew too high for me and greenside wasnt the best but i played this in a rainstorm in a tournament and won with it......ill never forget that.....it was bonkers

That led me to trusting callaway balls more and more and the CT is the best callaway ball ive tried......i have not tried the triple diamond but not sure i need to at this point

I hit the 3 diamond this year and did not like it.  Felt dead and heavy to me off D and irons.  Quickly dismissed it after a few shots.  YMMV on this one as you said, feel is so subjective.

Truth be told, Ive never been a Cally ball guy.  None of them ever did anything for me (compared to v1, 1x, or tp5).  I will grab a sleeve of CT for the round this weekend and try it out.

i was never a cally guy either......2019 TP5 was the best!!!   then i went to V1 and then Left dot which has been my all time fav ball to hit......the CT just entered the chat for me....i was shocked at first but really enjoying it now
