We saw some testing Callaway lefty did, but its wasn’t consistently 5 yards longer through the bag compared to those options.  It was a good test for what it was but limited (3 strikes per ball and the limitation of how equal “good” those strikes are per ball)z

anything more scientific how there you’ve seen? Please post if you have

it’s ok to say you like and it’s the you prefer it to other options, nothing indicates it’s going to improve your scores, particularly if you not high speed and spin.

You can look up all the left dot testing for yourself and read whats out there. As I said above, i respectfully disagree with you. Not sure what your issue is with this, but im not getting drawn into a back and forth with you posting  gifs.  Its all good. you have your opinion, and I have mine. Agree to disagree with you

No beef, man.  You said opinion, I agreed with you.  People are entitled to their opinions, they are subjective by definition and true to them.

OK.  When you have some time research all the testing and you'll see my "opinion" for yourself.  Lots of info out there. Enjoy

I’ve done research, I’ve played them for 6 months.  Nothing I’ve seen conclusive says they will improve some ones score.  The oem also states this when they say it’s not the best fit for most players, and only fits a small, specific demographic.

Which is why I asked if you saw something and can share something other than anecdotes posted by a user on this forum?  It was a legitimate question, you dismissed it and that’s fine.

does this explanation satisfy you?

Yeah, you get my guy..... those X days left me 20 yrs ago from diabetes 😢

But still enjoy the game albeit a shorter , slower version ......

Regardless,  give Chrome Tour ball and shot .....I'd love to hear your feedback after Saturday.....a familiar track, right?

Just spent 2hrs on the chipping green. Had the CT and TP5.  57 and 61 wedges.  I honestly thought the CT had a bit more check.  Maybe felt a tad firmer but nothing much. Was able to really get it to grab when I wanted, especially with the 61.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Added a 2nd weekend round on Monday with corporates approval (wife).  Will get 36 holes of good testing with TP5 and CT now.  Decent weather, 70 or so.  Not as familiar with the 2nd course.

As a follow-up to my prior post on CT at the chipping green.  The course asst pro was also out there practicing (I guess).  He is the one who sold me the sleeve of CT couple days prior.  He said the CT is his gamer.  I told him I was between TP5 and CT - he said it would probably come down to personal preference.  He did note that (in watching me) that I was getting great action on both balls on the green.

I do like a ball that feels explosive off the D and TP5 does that for me.  Be interested to see how CT feels here.

Early impression...

Round in. Played CT almost exclusively. It's long off the T and when I was hitting up against TP5 it's as long or within reason of each other. Flt from TP 5 is higher.  TP 5 feels more explosive to me.

Off irons I had more trouble working the ball compared to TP 5. I love to move the ball. CT wasn't as good for me here.  Length was as good as TP 5.  This is a big deal for me here.

Around the green it's virtually the same as TP 5 for me. Hop n stop.

As the asst pro told me the other day, just comes down to personal preference.

My preference is TP 5. Just feels better for me plus I can move the ball more. CT is the best Callaway ball I've ever hit though. TP 5 just edged it out.

@SwooshLT hey there I wanted to say I appreciate the recommendation on CT - and Im glad its a unicorn for you.  Its a solid ball for sure.  Its long in the long game, got great straight ball flight with irons and spins great around the greens while having good feel.  For me, the TP5 just did all that and felt better to me thru the bag.  The biggest thing for me was the inability to move the ball as much as I like to do.  Got me a little Chi Chi in me I guess lol.  The TP5 does this well for me while CT couldnt manage the same results.  I played Monday exclusively with TP5 and was able to execute all the shots I wanted and that kinda sealed the deal for me.  But CT is a great great golf ball and it replaces Srixon XV as my backup as I like it better than the XV.

Yes!! Saw the same thing as far as workability is concerned and I've lessened my desire to shape shots as much as before .......glad to see you put them through the paces and enjoy the TP5!

For some people CT is different gravy.  It is that way for me.

Played just 18 with it and it has the most “dynamic/lively” flight than any ball I’ve played. Only thing close is Left Dash, but CT spins more, especially off the irons. And CT is softer and flights higher. Thing is so long I flew 2 greens completely.

I’m coming from the X & TP5.

More testing this weekend.

In my minimal usage , my findings have seen similar results..... haven't flown any greens but this low spin long clubs married to higher launch and spin approach shots has been amazing!!

I even tried CTX and whilst spun a tiny bit more on approach overall not nearly as good for me!

After reading all this hype and the comments in here I grabbed a gold box in the shop before my round Sunday just because why not. These are really good! Ive been playing the Maxfli Tour which are great balls and the CT just might be better. Is the price of admission better vs the Maxfli? Maybe but its hard to argue with the results I saw, plus I was able to play the same ball for a round, which I dont do much. These are LONG off the driver and irons but still feel great around the greens. I may convert.

The CT is a great golf ball, no doubt.  It fell just shy for me during my trials compared to TP5.

All that ball testing messed me up too, wasnt really playing good golf by my standards.  Once I settled on TP5 I have returned to normal programming, carding a 76 and a 75 stress free rounds.

G luck to all here!

tell me about the current TP5 vs the CT......the 2019 TP5 was my fav ball and have always wanted the newer versions to be just as good but they have been falling short.....is the latest TP5 any different?

Agree on the 19 models, I played the TP5x and loved it but iterations after that as you said fell short so I went back to Pro V1x.  In trying out the 2024 versions, I did not like the 5x, felt harsh and unresponsive especially from D and 3w.  So I tried the 5 and really enjoyed it.  For me, it feels explosive in the long game (I really like this - gives me supreme confidence off the T or into par5).  Mid/Short iron shots are boring and in line with other premiums in terms of launch/spin/distance.  Around the green it is superb for me, hop n stop when I want it.  Putter feel is in the middle, not clicky but not mush.  I think my favorite thing about it is that I can freely move the ball (Hi-Low, L to R, R to L) when I want and I enjoy doing that (I feel like I play free and unencumbered if that makes sense).  I had more issues trying to move CT compared to TP5.  That was the difference for me and it mattered enough in my game to be the deciding factor.  I think the 2024 TP5 was the first non X ball that I really enjoyed and got on well with.  I then tried the 23 V1 and found the same thing.  I could use either of those and get the same results.

The 2023 V1 was awesome as well. I still have sleeve of those waiting to be used.

Maybe ill pick up some TP5's as I have not tried the newest version.....I too like the "explosive" feel with certain balls......i get the same confidence with that... great review

Thx.  My post reminded me that I need to see if I can source a box or 3 of the 2023 V1.  I think the V1 might actually be a bit spinnier around the green off my wedges but both TP5 a V1 get the job done here.  I love to play the check game around the green lol.  Bump n run is for sissies.  LOL, kidding.

Try a sleeve of TP5, see how it goes.  Lemme know.
